So, it's been a few years since I logged-in here; I had even forgotten my password and so had to reset it. I was surprised (or maybe just forgot! haha) to see my present predicament.

Anyways, I was heartened by the comments on the first page of the Cloak Room thread on Bo French and his crude, racist comments against my fellow Indian-Texans. Heck, he hasn't even spared his opponent from his unbecoming, undignified urges-- making the old Jewish-Communist libels against the man who is the only elected Jewish in the state legislature. I wanted to log-in and say thanks.

I also wanted to upvote the one member who made a post about Giant. When I moved to Texas in 1994, I somehow managed to pass high school without taking Texas history, and I didn't get into 1950s Hollywood movies either, aside from a few top notch ones ("12 Angry Men" comes to mind). So I was altogether unaware with the book, its author, the reactions it caused among the Texans of that time, and how the movie smoothed out everything by giving a redemption arc to the main villain from the book.

All this to say, there are always times I'm opinionated, but I'm also open-minded, and relish the opportunity to learn something new of value. The Cloak Room discussion on Bo French did that, and also made me hopeful that there are enough Texans (as my username suggests I've moved to the east coast now) who will vote AGAINST Bo French, even if many have to hold their noses as they vote for Blumenthal.

Congrats on the big win against Ohio State. And I'll still hope my Aggies can notch a W this year.
