I love that there are businesses that cater to marginalized sectors of society. Rock on.

I don't know what's going on here, but I couldn't find my glasses this morning, either, so maybe I'm not the best commentator.

Are we angry?

Best I can figure its because masks during covid were associated with leftist libs and this story overlaps with inclusive spaces for trans people and lesbians. Throw in a brown immigrant and it would be a right wing honeypot. This is the first I've seen this so I think it's probably overstating to say it's "blown up" or is part of any legitimate politcal conversations. From my perspective its not about masks or the lgbtq+ community but idealists on the left that more and more seem to demand ideological purity and complete alignment. I doubt anyone in this story bothered to vote for a democrat to keep trump and friends out of office because the democratic platform lacks a lot of what true progressives on the left want and then of course Israel. It sounds like there is one person leading this charge and some others who are upset. The owners made some mistakes along the way and unfortinately their business is probably done. Businesses fail every day for a number of reasons, this only stands out because of the aformentioned right win honeypot. Otherwise, what a waste of time I just took clicking that link lol.

The fact that a "pole dancing" studio got mistaken for a lesbian bar is the funniest thing I've seen this week.

Montgomery County.

About 25 years ago I made a stop in Willis. Got into a conversation with a dude. He told me a long winding story that ended up with him currently dating his son's wife.

They are boomers in Montgomery County. If they come out of the closet, they would give their kids a heart attack (grandkids probably wouldn’t care or notice). But visiting a lesbian bar…might be more appealing than typical bars in that county.

There used to be a gay country bar right on the border of Harris and Montgomery counties along 45

Worst collection of suburban closet cases I've ever seen

I felt like we really need to do some reading to research and understand this process. I found what look to be some in-depth writing that might be helpful.

I only read self-published sexy-time books with dinosaurs.

Well then you probably wouldn’t have gotten a handy behind the dumpster

A24 should buy the rights. I see a sequel to Spotlight.

But seriously, I'm not a bar going guy, but I didn't actually know that bars were still in Year of our Lord 2026 were still doing covid-era mask mandates. The world is big and confusing.

Were that my jokes remained jokes:

UTA—the talent agency representing the Boston Globe—has received inquiries for both scripted and documentary adaptations of the story, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

All that's really missing is mention of an "Art Collective."
