Stumbled upon these videos somehow and got sucked in.  Anyone that likes fishing has probably dreamed of something like this and he tells a good story, not just about the pond but about the fish he caught to put in it

randomly saw this last week.  I think less than a week after completion he had to pump out the entire thing and put in additional drains to prevent rains from washing more mud into the pond.  so much for having a team full of experts on the build.

I built s pond in my backyard in sugar land. It had Water lilies, Koi. A waterfall, and a bridge over it. It was fun to build and looked great, but fuck it was a pain in the ass to keep clean. Fuck that shit never again.

My Grandfather built a big enough pond to fish in for his house S of Shreveport; had a divider levee between the high side (smaller one) & lower end; the idea was to raise minnows in the smaller, shallow pond.
Ended up being a colossal hassle with the upper pond because it was constantly muddy & would suck your boots off.  Turned out to be one huge mosquito farm.

An old refrigerator flipped on it's back with the doors missing & a plywood sheet over the top was a better idea... raised his own worms.
