Why can’t we have more of these types of stories instead of psychotic rednecks plotting to kidnap and murder a governor?  These shenanigans are cheeky and fun.

Yeah, And DeYager's shenanigans are tragic and cruel.  Which makes them...not really shenanigans at all.

So the very act that earned the McCloskeys a speaking slot at the Law and Order Party Convention is the same act for which they are indicted.

On brand for the convention.

stupid bitch should be charged w/ making a fake 911 call

This is correct.

1 -- even if she was right, a charge of "discrimination in violation of the Civil Rights Act" is not a criminal complaint.

2 -- there is no protection in the Civil Rights Act against general "discrimination."  It prohibits discrimination based on you being a member of a protected class.  And while being incredibly stupid may seem like a mental disability, it's not one that has found any legal protection.

3 -- even if there WAS some sort of protected class in play....."forcing you to breathe CO2, not O2" is so fucking dumb as to defy cogent counterargument.  There is no scientific basis for this idiotic claim.  Surgeons wear masks for hours at a time.....they don't die of CO2 poisoning.  At all.  Because gases pass through the mask.  PARTICLES do not.  That's the point.  They are masks, not duct tape.

This woman is three layers of stupid.  She's like a Big Mac of idiocy.  With extra special sauce.

not quite right on number 2...all enumerated rights are protected and can be brought forth as claims under 42 USC §1983 via the 10th/14th regardless of whether the claimant is in a protected class.

choosing to not wear a mask is not an enumerated right, however...

I simplified for the general public.  Protected class, enumerated right, same difference to the lay person.

It's just like everything else.  If Republicans say they are for x, you can bet that their policies actually are against x.  X can be whatever you want it to be.

Do I know that this guy is a right winger?  Not for certain but I still feel pretty good about posting this article about a man who was so worried about "riots and civil unrest" at DISNEY WORLD that he brought an arsenal with him here so we can laugh at him.  How can someone be so scared of life that they have to be strapped at fucking Disney World?

https://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/tourism/os-bz-disney-gun-arrest-20201013-h267gcumqjfm7ll65y6fs5z3oq-story.html

Spoiler

A South Florida man brought an AR-15 rifle and 9mm handgun with him on his Disney World vacation because he was worried about his family’s safety during the social justice protests in Central Florida last month, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.

The 43-year-old Palm Beach Gardens man checked into the Polynesian Village Resort with his guns in a tennis bag on Saturday of the Labor Day holiday weekend, according to a newly released sheriff’s incident report.

The man had a concealed weapons permit and was not arrested, so the Orlando Sentinel is not identifying him. Disney stored his guns for him until the end of his trip.

The bellman handling the bag to bring to the man’s room wondered why it was so heavy, made the discovery and reported it to his manager who then contacted the sheriff’s office, the report said.

The Sheriff’s Office questioned the man who told them “he brought the rifle with him for their safety because of the riots and civil unrest going on down south and in the Central Florida area,” the incident report said.

Protestors demonstrated regularly, including near Disney World, after a deputy fatally shot 22-year-old Salaythis Melvin outside the Florida Mall on Aug. 7. And like in many cities across the nation, Orlando has had protests in support of Black Lives Matters downtown as well as near Universal and other surrounding areas throughout the summer.

In addition to the guns, the man brought three rifle magazines with 90 total rounds and two 9mm magazines with 20 rounds total.

The sheriff’s office checked his concealed weapon permit. “We then gave [the man] back his firearms and told him we appreciated his cooperation,” the incident report said.

“No arrests were made because no laws were broken,” the sheriff’s office said Tuesday when reached for comment.

Disney Security held onto his handgun in the hotel’s safe, and the larger rifle was stored at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge.

The man did not return a voicemail left on his cell phone for comment.

Disney World policy bans visitors from bringing weapons on its property.

“Our policy is clear that guns or weapons of any kind are not allowed at our resort regardless of whether someone has a permit,” Disney spokeswoman Andrea Finger said in a statement.

My favorite part of that article -

[update: October 14 - A photographer whose images were used in the postcard told News 4 Wednesday the couple did not obtain permission to use the photo and may be in violation of copyright laws.]

I hope the photographer sues them silly.

Only 110 bullets? How is he going to hold off the hordes of those people with only 110 bullets?

edit: not sure how the spoiler ended up in there. should just be a regular quote.
