You just told me that the Astros had a plethora, and I would just like to know if you know what it means to have a plethora. I would not like to think that someone would tell someone else he has a plethora, and then find out that that person has no idea what it means to have a plethora.

an article popped up on my scoretracker (they love top lists) and it was top 5 teams that will be worse in 2019.

3 were cleveland, oakland, and seattle.

considering my personal goal for us (and i know many agree) is to not worry about the al east, and just focus on finishing ahead of cleveland (securing no worse than the 2 seed), these are pretty much the 3 teams we should be concerning ourselves with - at least until the angels figure out their rotation.

so as much as i'd love to see some big move that makes us better, i'm becoming more convinced that the smart move (and the likely move) is that we'll go to battle with what we've got.  take a wait-and-see approach to tucker and some of our arms, as well as the health of our middle infield, and see where we are in july.

it's not exciting, but we've shown we can win with these guys, and still make a splash in july to fill holes.

when do pitchers and catchers report?

Yeah., with the addition of Brantley and the presumed health of Correa and Altuve, the offense should be fine.

Still wouldn't mind seeing another rotation piece added though. But, it makes some sense to see what we've got with James, Valdez and, eventually, Whitley, and then reassess.

Excuse me, @mycox. I know that I do not know as much about baseball as you do. But is it possible that, once again, you are angry at something else and are looking to take it out on me?

We really just have to be better than the rest of the AL West, for at least the first half of the season. And try not to get anyone stupidly, horribly injured.

Edit: Also, Mid-February. Feb 12th-13th. lmgtfy

we need bregman to help us annex new mexico.

Oh I think that's happened. I live in ABQ. Everywhere I go with an Astros hat on, people talk about Bregman. There are a lot of Dodgers fans here because ABQ was the AAA affiliate for 40 years, but during the '17 Series seemingly everyone was pulling for the Astros because of Bregman.

There aren't a ton of star athletes from NM - Bregman is catching up on Urlacher.
