So Travis County Early Voting Day 1 exceeded the Presidential Election Year Early Voting Day 1 by a couple hundred.  In other words, the orange line is above the green line right now.  Lulz.

Probably all the Travis County Republicans pissed off at how cavanaugh was treated is my guess there.

I was just about to post the Midland numbers. My three takeaways:

1) I have no doubt that there will be a higher percentage of Dem voters in that mix than usual, what with all of the influx of oilfield workers and Houston young professionals plus the Beto factor.

You think oilfield workers lean left?

I will be interested to see how Montgomery County breaks down.  Curious specifically how much The Woodlands swings away from 99.99% red.  Certainly will still be ruby red, but I know there are more than a handful of staunch conservatives in the community who are sick of what has happened to the republicans.

You are conflating conservatism with the GOP.   Neither party really represents those concerns.

Beta  is hardly worth cutting off your own nose...to spite your face, with the vote, of course.

No, I'm talking about conservatives in The Woodlands who are sick of what has happened to the party that traditionally represented conservatives and who are voting for Beto.  Not conflating anything with anything or speaking of something I don't know about directly.  Not talking about anything other than what I know anecdotally (but personally), not speculating that The Woodlands will go at all blue.  But I'm talking about conversations I've listened to between people who have been politically connected in that community since before there was a Target, and wondering how far that sentiment goes.

"Beta" is probably not the best insult to throw around when your man is Ted Cruz.

No I don’t. But maybe they’re 80-20 Republican. I think it’s possible that between the new ones in town and the many new young professionals, the typical 90-10 Midland split for the Republicans may be altered. To what I don’t know, but I suspect it won’t be 90-10. LULZ back at ya, fuckface.

My sister who almost never votes and when she does only votes Republican - as in she has literally never voted for a Democrat in her life, just told me she stood in line after work for an hour and 15 minutes to vote a straight Democratic ticket. Hope there are a lot more like her out there.

I’m going to try and vote tomorrow in Fort Worth. Wish me luck.

would appreciate it if anyone had an update on how crowded the polls are out here. Will be voting for every democrat no matter what except for Lupe valdez. Sorry guys she can barely put a coherent sentence together. I can’t support her, but Beto and everyone else hell yeah! I just want to get it over with.

Montgomery went 79.7% for Romney, 73.5% for Trump. If Beto can get it under 70% Cruz that will be a big advantage for him.

Someone mentioned Midland that went 80.0% for Romney and 75.1% for Trump, so that is another place where even 70% for Cruz would be a big Beto advantage. Similarly Lubbock went 69.6% for Romney and 66.3% for Trump. Small improvements in red counties could be huge this election.

You must be new around here. I’d say most of the pro-Beto peeps in the Beto thread are Gen X and older millennials.

Oh so coy.  You don’t know that Beto curries favor from lefties by embracing conservative stances, do you?

It's hard to tell what's going on. 800 people showed up to a Beto rally in Abilene. I guarantee you more Dems are turning out in places like Abilene than would in a typical midterm election. How much is also republicans who are doing their duty to protect us from socialism and gungrabbing? I don't know.

ideally for the Blues is to have the Red counties have low turnout but seems turnout is big everywhere which isn't a good sign for Beto.

Agree, but I have hope that more people are voting for Beto in Red counties than voted for Clinton. She didn't go to all 254 counties.
