Disagree about what?  That the right in this country has violent nationalists and racist extremists in their ranks?  You seriously going to disagree with that?

It seems hypocritical to you because you're completely incapable of understanding some very basic distinctions between a genocidal death cult and those who oppose a genocidal death cult. Congratulations on having the mind of a particularly dimwitted child.

The Antifascists have gone over the line in some videos that I’ve seen.  It’s possible they do some really bad things like blow up buildings, but I haven’t read anything like that. The white nationalist nazis do check the boxes on terroristic crimes.

Degree doesn’t matter to the GOP fanboys.

We’ve got white supremacists out hunting and slaughtering Jews, Hispanics, Muslims, etc....but antifa guys punched and even beat up some people, so really, they’re the same.

Wait, the absurdity gets even better - to them, antifa is WORSE, and they should be labeled terrorists.

But white nationalists? Hey, they’re cool. Free speech. And, free fire zones for them as well.

Look, you'd have a valid point if Portland antifa, San Francisco gays, and Seattle socialists flew to Intercontinental and road in on busses to march the streets of Conroe, Jasper, or Vidor solely to antagonize the locals while looking for a fight.

Edit: I abhor political violence but I also understand the natural, tribal inclination folks feel when threatened by outsiders so they want to protect their "turf." Shit can sometimes get out of hand, which is no excuse, but those white nationalists know exactly what they're doing and I'm pretty sure they want that fight - hence bringing weapons like hammers and shit.

We need more Republicans and Conservatives to step up to the plate to condemn these assholes. Don't allow this to become a partisan problem. Conservatives AND liberals should be able to agree that individuals have value and bring their own worth, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, age, or disability.

If you believe that "all men are created equal," as stated in one of our founding documents, then no American -- Right or Left -- should have any problem denouncing shitheads who want to divide us along those lines. Please, come forward. We need you.

No, see, what's important is that -- even though we have a series of photos showing murderers, attempted murderers, and men engaging in conspiracy to commit mass murder.....we don't have a white supremacist terrorism problem at all.  It's a hoax.

Which is why I have introduced legislation in the Senate to brand Antifa a terrorist organization.  Makes perfect sense, right?

LOL, this isn't the fucking Weather Underground, they're pushing back against facists and white supremacists because if you don't then you allow those ideas to fester. Ask any historian about how this actually works.

Short version: people who are less likely to be shot by an exploding terrorist movement are less concerned than people who are in the crosshairs of that movement.

Lesson -- this country is FUCKED UP.  We don't give a rat's ass about what happens to our fellow citizens.  As long as it ain't ME getting shot, I don't give a shit -- that's our current ethos.  We are selfish, callous, and cruel.

Reading some more stuff on El Paso, and it got me thinking about how this shit was not only predictable....it was fucking PREDICTED.  Any of y'all remember our discussion on the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting (a thread that earned me a short ban because of some emotional comments I made)?  Here's some of the stuff I said there, LAST OCTOBER:

  Quote

There is a war being waged against the “other.” The bombs are being sent. The bodies are stacking up. There’s no way this ends well. And do the MAGidiots slow their roll? Nope. They are punching the gas.

It’s a matter of time before a taqueria or someplace similar gets shot up or blown up. We have bombs being sent, mosques burned down, Nazis running down pedestrians, synagogues being shot up....this is on you, you evil fucks. You stoked the fire, you own this. You are going to go down as some of the most contemptible people in American history. And you fucking know it, you’re just too cowardly to admit you are wrong. Evil coward. How fucking pathetic.

Expand

Although I missed slightly on the caliber -- I predicted that we brown people would be murdered by an AR variant, not an AK variant:

  Quote

My son is with his Jewish friend right now. They have targets on their backs right now. 8 of them died today. My son has the wrong last name. It’s a matter of time before someone sends .223 rounds flying at people like us.

Expand

But I'm leaving it out there.  The odds are good that one of the next shooters working to rid the country of "invaders" will use an AR variant.

Also, I guess the El Paso shooter was one of the "less creative types" - he did as I predicted, and hit a place where brown people shop.

1) Since the beginning, I’ve said that the most dangerous thing about Trump is his rhetoric of demonization of the other.  By virtue of being a major party candidate, and now president of the US, he normalizes such rhetoric.  Here, from today’s front-page story from the AP:

  Quote
  Quote

“It was simmering,” says Parker. “It’s like the gas burner was on, then Trump lit the fire.”

The president vaulted to political prominence by promoting the racist and false conspiracy theory that Obama was not born in the United States, launched his presidential campaign by calling Mexicans rapists and murderers, and routinely describes his enemies, including the intended recipients of the pipe bombs, as “evil,” ″dangerous,” ″the enemy of the American people.”

..............

Both parties blamed the other, and the president called for unity, then again described liberals and the media as villains. The hope Parker had that this might be a turning point faded.

Then came the shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue that claimed 11 lives, an attack likely to cause ugly partisan debates over gun control, hate speech and more.

“I just can’t believe the kind of violence that we’re experiencing in our country,” Pittsburgh resident Cindy Jennings said at a vigil for those targeted at the Tree of Life Synagogue. “I feel like the leadership in our country right now is just encouraging violence, and I wish that that would stop.”

The volatile tribalism now so ingrained in American life will eventually right itself, says Robb Willer, a sociology professor at Stanford University, but not until the public decides it’s had enough and stops rewarding politicians who use incendiary language and demonize the other side. It’s impossible to guess, he notes, how much damage will be done in the meantime.

“That is the question of our time: Are we going to choose to continue the war, or are we going to choose peace? And we don’t know yet what the answer to that will be, because while a majority of Americans are fed up with the extremity of our political divisions, it does feel like we’re stuck here,” Willer says. “It will get worse before it gets better.”

2) We've seen it coming.  Many of us have pointed out the obvious: this WILL result in bloodshed.  In one week, we have a man sending bombs to people associated with opposition to the regime, including the press, we have a man trying to attack a black church (then killing two black people at a secondary target), and then a man killing jews -- in a synagogue, during a holy rite -- for the bonus offense of being kind to brown refugees.  This is EXACTLY what we've seen coming.  And as noted above, there's more to come.

3) And the targets will be those who are demonized as "the other."  Brown folks, who are rapists and murderers and MS-13, and jews, and black people, etc. etc.

4) I have the wrong last name in this country right now.  My childhood best friend (still a dear friend) is Honduran.  Some of our dearest friends are jewish.  Most of the people I know and love are in the crosshairs right now.

Will today be the day that someone decides to attack the Catholic Church in the Valley, where some of my family members attend, because that congregation provides humanitarian aid to refugees?  Maybe today will be the day that someone decides to attack the JCC, and kill my friend the Hebrew teacher.  Shit, maybe one of the less creative types will just shoot up the Fiesta Mart on I-35 when my kids and I are shopping.

Expand

El Paso was predictable.

El Paso was PREDICTED.

El Paso will happen again.  And again.  And again.

Because the DOTUS and his supporters fucking WANT IT TO.  We're dealing with an actual, bona-fide, definable terrorist movement.  And it is based in the White House.  That's fucking insane.
