He calls the Nazi flag a "World War II" flag and says "the students don't know their history." "A swastika could be religious if you knew what a swastika is. Well I'm sorry for them people, but go learn your history," Stark said.

I looked around on the webs and evidently the police have had a few run-ins with Mr. Stark. He, on the other hand could use a few run-ins with some history books not to mention a book on the proper usage of the English language.

Des Moines is where a police sergeant was sued by a man for excessive force (settled out of court) and then the same sergeant was sued by a teenager after he maced her in the face and threw her to the ground.

We have family friends who lived in Des Moines for over twenty years. They recently moved away, one is a minority and the atmosphere was becoming...well, you can see what the atmosphere is.

I saw this on Twitter and clicked on it muttering “Please don’t be Alabama.”

At first, I was like “Des Moines, Iowa? Huh.”

Now the polling in Iowa make a little more sense.

The family’s lawyers are arguing that... the school district personnel, other families and media reports spread the Snapchat around and essentially manufactured the outrage that followed. Without publicly acknowledging the social media post, they say, the post would have simply disappeared in a short window of time.

So its only a punishable offense if it sparks outrage. But not if the outrage is caused by anyone involved in the case, or the media.  What kind of horseshit legal reasoning is that?

Clive Police Chief Mike Venema said Friday during a news conference that Nicole Marie Poole Franklin, 42, admitted to steering her SUV onto a sidewalk on Dec. 9 in the suburban Des Moines community and running over the teenager, who was walking to school to watch a basketball game. Franklin then fled the scene.

Franklin made several derogatory statements about Latinos during a police interview in which she admitted she intentionally ran over the teenager, police said.

In Houston:

An Aryan Brotherhood gang member faces a slew of charges related to the back-to-back shootings Saturday of a mail carrier in the Spring Branch area and a man at a nearby Costco gas station.

Police say Matthew Williams shot the mail carrier around 2 p.m. and drove to the gas station, where he allegedly attempted to shoot another man less than five minutes later.

Then, he sped out of the parking lot in a black Honda Fit — which he is accused of stealing the day before from an ex-girlfriend — collided into a vehicle and sped off without stopping, charging documents show.

Williams, who is a documented member of the white supremacy prison gang, is being held without bail after his arrest on Monday, according to court records.

Three Alleged Members of the Violent Extremist Group “The Base” Facing Federal Firearms and Alien-Related Charges

Quote

Greenbelt, Maryland – A federal criminal complaint has been filed charging three alleged members of the racially motivated violent extremist group “The Base” with firearms and alien-related charges.  The complaint charges Brian Mark Lemley, Jr., age 33, of Elkton, Maryland, and Newark, Delaware, and William Garfield Bilbrough IV, age 19, of Denton, Maryland, with transporting and harboring aliens and conspiring to do so.  Lemley is also charged with transporting a machine gun and disposing of a firearm and ammunition to an alien unlawfully present in the United States.  Further, the complaint charges Lemley and Canadian national Patrik Jordan Mathews, age 27, currently of Newark, Delaware, with transporting a firearm and ammunition with intent to commit a felony.  The complaint also charges Mathews with being an alien in possession of a firearm and ammunition.  The complaint was filed January 14, 2020, and was unsealed today upon their arrests by the FBI.

According to the criminal complaint, within The Base’s encrypted chat rooms, members have discussed, among other things, recruitment, creating a white ethno-state, committing acts of violence against minority communities (including African-Americans and Jewish-Americans), the organization’s military-style training camps, and ways to make improvised explosive devices.  Lemley previously served as a Cavalry Scout in the United States Army, and as of August 2019, Mathews, a Canadian citizen in the United States illegally, was a combat engineer in the Canadian Army Reserve.

The affidavit filed in support of the criminal complaint alleges that on August 19, 2019, Mathews unlawfully crossed from Canada into the United States near the Manitoba/Minnesota border.  On August 30, 2019, Lemley and Bilbrough allegedly drove from Maryland to Michigan in order to pick up Mathews, and all three men returned to Maryland on August 31, 2019.

-------

In January 2020, according to the affidavit, that Lemley and Mathews purchased approximately 1,650 rounds of 5.56mm and 6.5mm ammunition; traveled from Delaware to a gun range in Maryland, where they shot the assault rifle; and retrieved plate carriers (to support body armor) and at least some of the purchased ammunition from Lemley’s prior residence in Maryland.

Whatever you do, don't read the replies underneath the Governors tweet. It is a beatdown, depressing and jaw droppingly stupid. People saying how if something violent happens it is now the governor's fault. So he was supposed to do what in response of a credible threat relayed to him by the FBI? Read the affadavit from the FBI and it is chilling. These men were stone cold discussing how to get around the ATF among other things and scouting locations apparently. And yet they still rant about how it's going to be antifa causing problems?

I can’t imagine why they’d choose this coming Monday to hold a gun rally in Virginia.  Do you think it’s a coincidence that Monday is MLK day?

Probably just worked out well, what with what was surely a busy work calendar for all of them.  They seem like career men.  Probably stockbrokers or something.

You don’t think stockbrokers are homicidal at this point with all the zero commission stuff.

I know it seems like a crazy coincidence, but I believe Virginia has a tradition of a Lobby Day that is held around that week every year. I think it is held on the first Monday and so I think in years past the 2A groups would not be the only groups there usually. With the rhetoric surrounding this particular meeting, other groups may elect to choose another day?

I was delving a little more into this topic after the FBI arrests posted above. They have been trying to stay on top of these groups in spite of little support from the WH.

At Trump's next rally will he mention that a white illegal alien from Canada was planning harm to American citizens?

"One of the men, Patrik J. Mathews, 27, a main recruiter for the group, entered the United States illegally from Canada, according to the officials. ....Mr. Mathews was trained as a combat engineer and is considered an expert in explosives. The Canadian Army discharged him after his ties to white supremacists surfaced."

At Trump's next rally will he mention that the founder of "the Base," an American, appears to be living in Russia? Will he speak out against Russia harboring terrorists?

Well, we know the answer to that.

In addition, Richard Spencer told Alex Jones of Infowars he might attend the rally. Jones has been fanning the fire leading up to the Virginia rally by saying any violence will be a 'false flag" and that George Soros is behind the proposed gun control measures because he "wants to trigger a race war." Gee, those comments underneath the Virginia governor's twitter account show who has been listening to Alex....

Jones invited Spencer to attend the rally, Spencer did not say for certain he would attend. Spencer has been marginalized from the far right somewhat and is trying to figure out how to get back in.

There's nothing surprising about that. When you get a chance go google these search terms: American white supremacists "Saint Petersburg" OR Russia

I was being cheeky about it. I've actually read about that-- Russia was financing Richard Spencer as well as Preston Wiginton, the racist who was promoting him for quite a while. It's just the blinders people have when it comes to ranting about MS-13 and completing then disregarding the domestic terrorism that is growing like a fungus or actually supporting the groups. The 'academia' clean cut angle worked for them (white supremacists) for awhile, but they are going back to their basic roots and attempting an appeal to patriotism and brute force. I'm sure Stephen Miller working with Spencer and also working with Bannon (prior to Steve having a falling out with the President) isn't helping matters. I mean, the FBI seems, on the surface anyway, to be attempting to do their job with respect to the danger.

Lee Carter, the Democratic Socialist in the VA House, is going to stay a safe house on Monday because of the numerous death threats. The saddest part? You stupid inbred gun-fucks are threatening an ally, someone who is very pro 2A and thinks a leftist movement should have the right to bear arms (which I don't really agree with all that much), but uneducated knuckle-draggers see socialist and have been conditioned to think gulags for anyone who doesn't support liberalism (which is different than real leftism).

From a purely pragmatic point of view, if you were in Spencer’s shoes, maybe sit out for a year or two.   When the dam breaks, the alt-right movement is probably going to get hammered hard.   Especially when Trump loses, Republicans will probably try and pin it on those types.

I thought incel was just a term to be taken at face value. I had no idea it was rally point for losers in hoods with AK-47 dreams.

Anyway, for those similarly out of the loop, here's a Wikipedia blurb or two:

Quote

Incels (/ˈɪnsɛlz/ IN-selz), a portmanteau of "involuntary celibates", are members of an online subculture[1][2] who define themselves as unable to find a romantic or sexual partner despite desiring one, a state they describe as inceldom.[3]

Discussions in incel forums are often characterized by resentment, misogyny,[4] misanthropy,[1] self-pity,[5] self-loathing,[6] racism,[7][8][4] a sense of entitlement to sex, and the endorsement of violence against sexually active people.[4][9][10][11][12] The American nonprofit Southern Poverty Law Center described the subculture as "part of the online male supremacist ecosystem" that is included in their list of hate groups.[13][14]

Estimates of the overall size of the subculture vary greatly. Incels are considered mostly male and heterosexual, but sources disagree about their ethnic makeup.

At least four mass murders, resulting in a total of 45 deaths, have been committed in North America by men who have either self-identified as incels or who had mentioned incel-related names and writings in their private writings or Internet postings. Incel communities have been criticized by the media and researchers for being misogynistic, encouraging violence, spreading extremist views, and radicalizing their members.[2][15][16]

This passage pretty much defines the difference between frustrated women (let's talk to feel better) and frustrated men (let's kill people for not liking us). I'll refer back to Henry Rollins, a fellow white dude, "This so-called man's world is poorly run carnage fest."

Quote

The first online community to use the term "incel" was started in 1993 when a Canadian university student known only by her first name, Alana, created a website in order to discuss her sexual inactivity with others.[4][17][18][19] The website, titled "Alana's Involuntary Celibacy Project",[4] was used by people of all genders to share their thoughts and experiences.

In 1997, she started a mailing list on the topic that used the abbreviation INVCEL, later shortened to "incel", for "anybody of any gender who was lonely, had never had sex or who hadn't had a relationship in a long time".[20] During her college career and after, Alana realized she was queer and became more comfortable with her identity.

She stopped participating in her online project around 2000[21] and gave the site to a stranger.[18]

In 2018, Alana said, "It definitely wasn't a bunch of guys blaming women for their problems. That's a pretty sad version of this phenomenon that's happening today. Things have changed in the last 20 years."[20] When she read about the 2014 Isla Vista killings, and the way parts of the incel subculture glorified the perpetrator, Elliot Rodger,[22] she wrote, "Like a scientist who invented something that ended up being a weapon of war, I can't uninvent this word, nor restrict it to the nicer people who need it."[19] She expressed regret at the change in usage from her original intent of creating an "inclusive community" for people of all genders who were sexually deprived due to social awkwardness, marginalization, or mental illness.[23]

Women (and many men) gather and talk to scatter and lighten their ill feelings eventually maybe ridding themselves of some of it.. Men (and some women) gather to focus on and magnify their ill feelings eventually maybe working themselves up into self-righteous murderers.

I remember the good old days when a killer, as described by neighbors, was a quiet guy, friendly but kind of kept to himself. More of them probably kept to themselves instead of turning to murder before the days when they could congregate anonymously to fuel their pathologies.

Okay, I've given an unqualified legal opinion on another thread. Here, it's an unqualified psychological analysis. I think I'll go over the football board and perform some amateur neurosurgery. Having a good day so far.
