This fucking clown basically didnt survive 2 fucking years in the league (his first year he played in 3 games) and was kicked to the curb after 3 official seasons... after being the #1 fucking draft pick.

meanwhile, Vince spent 7 years in the league, went to 2 pro bowls and was rookie of the year, and he is somehow classified as almost an equivalent bust.....

i would be more interested to know if the coaches called him out on the blank tapes.... that would have been high comedy there.

whomever came up with the blank tapes is likely also involved in the whole "taping a $100 bill to the back page of the playbook" shit you hear about.  how many times can you successfully fool potential top nfl picks before you refine your vetting strategy?

Well, it's the Raiders.   The same guys who gave John Gruden $100,000,000 last year.

More than a few lists have VY as the biggest bust of the era.

I think a lot of that is because people expected more out of VY, hell who besides the Raiders thought Jamarcus was anything? All the fuck that guy did at LSU was wait till receivers got open and threw the ball as hard as he could to them.

Amazing that they were able to identify him. Receiving a $75,000 check from a businessman and depositing it at a credit union, and then withdrawing $55,000 in cash isn’t normally traceable.

A guy this stupid stayed eligible at LSU for 3 years. Bastion of academic excellence

He wasn't arrested so were no theft/embezzlement laws broken? Said he's getting a civil suit from the guy he stole from

Wondering the same. Guessing if he returns the money, no charges will be filed. However, the lawsuit seems to indicate that he didn’t return it so I’m confused. Anybody wondering if he owes some of the wrong people a lot of money?

I would imagine that he's a few marbles short of playing a game. On the lost marbles scale.

I rate both Russell and VY's careers as abject failures. Russell, of course, is perhaps the worst-ever bust, and is the grand-prize winner. Yes, VY hung around the league, but when you measure his career against the expectations, coupled with his ongoing personal issues, he is a textbook definition bust of a prospect. I'm glad he won us a championship and I wish he could get his life together, but he is a confirmed dumb guy and is 100% responsible for his failures.

I hope he gets help and stops bringing shame upon his name, but I don't expect it.

The difference is Al Davis was singing J’Marcus persuades until the end. Vince had his coach purposely trying to kill him and his career. Jeff Fisher is an evil motherfucker. Murdered Steve McNair. Tried to kill VY.

Great players survive bad coaches, even Jeff Fisher-bad-level.

Nick Foles, Case Keenum and Jared Goff all suffered under Jeff Fisher. Heck, Nick Foles nearly retired out of frustration. All of them had their most success AFTER they got away from Fisher. Vince Young had plenty of chances after Fisher but didn't have the character or work habits to make himself a success.
