if you could combine C&A's burger with Dan's curly fries and Billy's beer selection I'd never go anywhere else again. And I'd die within 24 months.

Did 5280 tonight.  Eh.  Better than Hopdoddy, not worth the money.  Crown, Casino El Camino and Top Notch are all better.  Fries were soggy and terrible.  Onion rings were legit.

Went to crown before the pearl jam concert on Monday. The college kids at our table had never heard of PJ. I felt old. Burger was as good as ever. 20230918_183850.jpg

That has nothing to do with age. Those youngsters were retards.

Well they were just fucking morons then.  That's like me telling my parents I had never heard of the Stones or something.

Had Dirty's for lunch. Not too shabby. Kasey Studdard sat next to us at the bar. The man can take down a burger in the blink of an eye.

He's there all the time. I know this because I'm there all the time.

Anybody tried the burgers at Workhorse Bar on North Loop?

How long has that been there?  I live relatively close by and drive past that area all the time, and frequent Foreign & Domestic and Drink Well.  I've never paid much attention to the vintage shops and other places on that funky strip off North Loop and Avenue F, so I easily could have been missing Workhorse for quite some time.  The beer and cocktail menu look pretty strong.

Answered my own question -- burgers were very good, fries were "eh".  Cool bar.

Echoing this, I think they have an underappreciated burger.

At least 12 years; my wife and I had out first date at The Tigress and it was there then.  I like that both places are very much neighborhood joints and not loved to death.

2nd-grader couldn't eat a whole Workhorse burger, so I ate the other half for lunch.

That's a DAMN good burger.  Thick, perfect medium rare plus, juicy, seasoned appropriately.  Combined with fries and select local pints for less than $14, well . . . new hangout for Mr. & Mrs. JJ.

Tigress is my favorite cocktail bar in the city. Super friendly workers and guests too.

Highly recommend Bill's Burger at Bill's Oyster of Third and Colorado.  I didn't take a picture because I was starving when it came to the table so I just scarfed it down without thinking to take a shot with my phone.  The burger meat is a combo of brisket and short rib.

Yeah I'll check it out once my inheritance check clears.

The burger is $18. Sorry your inheritance is so small.

Yeah I checked the menu. It comes with fries, too. Not bad.

And you'll get it 20 minutes faster than a Whataburger.

I paid $12 for a shiity Which Wich sandwich three doors down this week.

If I'd gotten the large, it would have been $17.

That's not a bad deal for that burger and fries.

People have mentioned burgers like the one at Roaring Fork without any indignation over price, and that’s an $18 burger.

Sometimes a really good burger cost more than a place like Dan’s or Dirty’s, and that’s okay.
