Interesting. Wonder what he means by “a few surprises”?

A little further on this Tweet.   Does this mean we are likely to see less Uniform Porn this fall from the usual suspects who like to change unis every other game?    Since UA, Adidas, and Nike rely on the same sources for production for the most part.

With the exception of Duck.  Duck will quack and Phil Knight will make sure they get their 12 different combos.

This is exactly what I’m thinking. I’ve spent the past 35yrs of my life in the Athletic Ftwr/Apparel business. I’ve never seen anything like what’s going on right now in terms of shipping/logistics.
The factories are pretty much back up to speed. That’s not the issue. The issue is the simple lack of containers in which to ship the goods. They’re either sitting in a bay on a Maersk liner or sitting in a dockyard waiting to be unloaded/returned back to the FE. There is the option of air freight- Which considering the rising cost of shipping, is actually a bargain these days. If Nike wants their good to hit their WH, it’ll happen. Period.

As for the Ftwr, the majority of their PE’s are all made in the basement of the Michael Jordan bldg on the Beaverton campus. I’m not sure if they can make 100+ pairs though…probably? Maybe?

I understand for sure.

I am a buyer for a large millwork company and a container shortage is crippling us.

They went from like $1500 rent per shipment to around $25,000 each to ship items from overseas.

Unreal.

That’s part of it. Not to go all CR, but when the Government is paying hourly workers to stay home…well, what did they expect?😲🤐

And, some of it is simply that not all states are as “open” as others. A brand I rep had FIFTEEN containers sitting in Long Beach for the better part of three months.  That’s roughly 50Kpr.

Similar here, but not 3 months in LB. ours typically sit for about 3-4 weeks waiting on a spot on the train. Also sits in China waiting for a boat for 3ish weeks (29 and 40 footers)

It’s brutal. I mean, I feel for those working the docks- Really do. They are a KEY cog in the machine. And I sure a lot of them want to get back to work  for many varying reasons- Money being chief amongst them!

If we're stuck with orange tops and white pants only, well that would be just swell.

The Cowboys silver/greenish pants are a permanent buzz topic on most all logo/design type boards. I strongly remain in the camp that the current look is iconic and contributes to their glamourous image. The Cowboys are in the golden triumvirate of NFL jewel franchises with Pittsburgh and Green Bay, but neither of those are comparable to the Lakers and Yankees in… pizzazz?

I’m fully aware of the origins of the silver/greenish look and it’s silliness to be applied in today’s HD age, but don’t care. We have an example of matching the silvers and it’s Kansas State, which is a fantasticly consistent in striping and coloring, but almost the opposite of glamour. It’s a workmanlike brand.

Disclaimer: Houston guy that doesn’t like the Cowboys, but not one of those types that’s weird about Dallas stuff.

Nope, the star is what's iconic, not the silver-green. It's not like it's changing history or anything, these grey pants are every bit iconic as the silver-green, but look so much better.

Those pants with the helmet and darker blue numbers/stripes on the jerseys are far superior to this shit:

Shit doesn’t even match the shade of the helmet silver or blue. Looks like shit and always has since I started watching in the 90s

1) I actually don't mind the lighter/ brighter blue on the jerseys, even though it doesn't match the blue of the helmet star. The bright blue "pops" on TV.

2) Yes, I would much prefer the pants matched the helmet, but...

3) I generally dislike how changes in fabric have made 99% of uniform pants no longer look metallic, which doesn't look good for teams that are supposed to have gold or silver as a color (see pants of Colorado Buffaloes, LV Raiders, Notre Dame, etc.). That being the case, I like that the silver-green pants still have a shine to them.

placing a basketball player on a football uni will never make sense to me. you could remove that icon from every uniform and they would all look better

Thats an awful lot to infer from the two sentences I typed. There's plenty of shit on this planet I think is dumb as fuck, yet still makes money.  But I'll just consider myself blessed to be posting on the same message board as a titan of industry such as yourself.

Nice rendition. Colors are perfect. Just wish the shoulder loops wrapped around the arms better, but definitely an upgrade from adidas version.

That’s a huge pet peeve of mine. Shoulder loops are AWESOME and should always wrap all the way around see the following.

In my honest opinion.  I think UCLA needs to go back to the uniform design they wore from 1996 - 2001 with the very light sky blue and old-fashioned font on the numbers/names.  Those were classic!

I kinda always felt like those just didn't match.  The UCLA on the helmet didn't match the Jersey and the outline on the numbers seemed random. And then they wore a totally different shade of blue on the road.  I think those current Jordan uniforms are an improvement.
