Brother ink jet if it matters.  Either having a store refill them or DIY, do they work?  Do the printer manufacturers have it figured out to not make refilled cartridges work?  If it's cool, can anyone recommend a place to get supplies.

Thanks

They’ve worked fine for me until my local Costco closed the photo lab. I’m currently trying el cheapo ones from amazon as they are cheaper in theory...$16 for like 16 cartridges vs refilling for $6-8 each.

WAY worth it at CostCo, if they'll work with your specific cartridges.  I can't remember the exact #'s but I think it was something like 60% less than the new cartridges on the rack a couple of aisles over.

Last time I bought a printer, I went to Costco, looked at the printers, wrote down the model number of a couple that would work, and walked over to the photo lab and said "which of these cartridges can you refill?".  They did one of selected few, and that's the printer that I bought.

It's a huge savings.

Thanks for the replies.  Might try to get them refilled once and see how it goes.  Had bad luck once trying on an old H&P so I wanted to see if it's working out for anyone.

Slight tangent:  I'm getting pretty sick of dealing with inkjet printers.  What's a good rec for a home color laser printer if speed is the least of my concerns?  My main priorities would be low price, decent but not pro print quality, and wifi network capability (which I assume is standard).
