No fucking way will Mack ever get a statue, or anything named after him. He won a single NC and 2 BCS  bowl games in his 16 years coaching. Not to mention he literally won 2 Big XII championships with superior talent han OU, and got Bob Stoops' chin cum all over his face in 8 of the 16.

He can pander his Schick all he wants, but there's probably 10 other coaches at the very least who have 1 NC. He's a charlatan. The guy was a yearly Holiday bowl ateendee. Not even good enough to make more than 2 BCS non-NC games, and 1 NC. ONE.

Oh, right, right, how could I forget he didn't have a contingency plan when Colt got hurt because....well, he's a dumbass. So what does he do? You guessed it, he threw in a true frosh who didn't even get the chance to know the entire playbook because he was redshirting, and Mack seemingly forgot he had a real backup. This is how fucking retarded that man is.

That motherfucker deserves nothing. Am I being spiteful? Fuck yes I am. I don't give one single fuck how many "wins" he has here, or how many top 3 glasses he had; the truth is he is an average to below average coach, but has a great defensive staff with Akina and Robinson/Muschamp, he backdoored his way into Colt McCoy being a fucking baller. He never thought "wait a minute here....that kid over there at 2a Jim Ned HS looks just like the guy who can take us to that next step after VY. I never thought Ryan Perriloux was good enough, anyway. I pushed him out for Colt"

Hes a narcassistic mouth breathing, bug eating dipshit. So, yeah, Mack, thank you for 16 years of 2 CC, 1 NC, 1 NC loss, and 2 BCS games. But wait, there's more...that limp wristed, dog hair eating, maniacal raging asshole told all the recruits to look elsewhere after he was canned because he's a thin-skinned brainlet who didn't appreciate where he was all those years. And instead of taking the high road, nah, fam, he just set it and his legacy on fire.

Absolute legend...of idiots that had surrounded himself with people more knowledge than him and beat up the Big 12, but couldn't beat his fishing buddy Bob Stoops. He had three 1-loss seasons, one 0 loss season, then you have another 2-7 losses in there each year

I swear to God there aren't enough drugs, including Ketamine, MDMA, and Xanax mixed together to change my mind.  I'm probably going to have an aneurysm. I should probably get some sunlight and go take drugs and lay in the grass and have an existential crisis.

The list of current head football coaches with a national title ring as HC is very short.  I know it does not include the current HCs of: Michigan, Ohio State, Louisiana State, Florida State, Texas A&M, Alabama, Texas, Southern Cal, Notre Dame.

I'm just speaking over time. His narcissism makes him believe he's better than he actually is, while over several decades there have been schools that won a NC and aren't putting up a statue of that coach, because, well, they're not dumbasses,

Mack is in the same narcissist spectrum sigh Urban Meyer, but unlike Brown. He's win 3 NC's. His deluded mind thinks he's smarter than everyone in the room, even those who have repeatedly beat him, or won more conference and/or NC'S.

For now...until I see that motherfucker walk the sidelines at a game, and then shit will hit the fan.

The only thing Mack can do is tank what Sark is accomplishing just out of spite. People see some good ol boy, smiley glad handing people, while others see him as a manlet with mommy and daddy issues. He's an attention whore that is irrelevant today. I used to like him when I was going to UT, but when I finished grad school he showed who he really is.

Have a seat, grandpa, and depends. My anger ia far worse than my writing. I have a loathing feeling about that piece of shit, and l his wins don't mean shit to me. Not after fucking over on our recruits on the way out. Pjus his retarded "10 win season" goal. How that bled into aggy, I have no clue. Whenever they use it it takes me back to school when I would hang out with my friends before classes, and one of them mentioned we are so close to 10 wins, and I about went off the top rope on him.

The "10-win" shit was stupid then, and even dumber how. How the fuck strives for "10-wins" to be a goal? Maybe he just loves the Holiday Alamo bowl better than competing at a higher level. I would not shock me if he did. Fucking slim-brained fuck tars. Aim higher,  Mack, you armpit smelling, fraternity peeping Tom weirdo. Had you had a clue, a plan, and not a smooth brained incompetent dipshit, we could have won a NC at the very least 2 times. And don't get started on that Colorado collapse that would have taken us there. It have, and will, have any anger towards Simms. He bled burnt orange for us until graduated because he didn't understand how to be great QB UT, when you're good but not great, it ain't working out. He has a cushy job and beautiful. Glad to see him and Bijan throw up the Hook Em together in that Pic. Anyway...

10 wins, everybody! Yay! That is an aggy goal, not ours. We strive higher. Mack out that shit in the ether and all of the lessers and plebs cling to it. God it's so annoying and makes me cringe when I hear "(10-wins", or "it's  the kids that [fill in stupid remark Mack makes), an last but not least...CLAP CLAP CLAP, like he's trying to figure out the lights coming on when you get home.

God I hate that motherfucker with every fiber of my being.

I fully expect something like that to happen. He won a national championship here. He might even get a statue if he plays his cards right.

He's not getting a statue for winning one national championship. Not a singke donor and CDC would allow that to happen. We would be the laughing stock of college fb if we put up a statue of a guy who set fire to the program on his way out # won only 2 CC's in 16 years here, and made 2 BCS games, not named the NC.

It would absolutely pathetic.

Exactly. Your goal isn't to win 10 games, your goal is to win them all. We're Texas, we should have rolled every team in our conference, but instead we lost ou on the reg, and then add in another 1-2 head scratchers.

Yeah, when Mack started winning 10 games, it was an accomplishment. He started doing that regularly, before anyone else. Now, 10 wins for what should be a top tier program isn’t as big of a deal.

Does this costanza think we forgot we fired him?  Did he forget?  Have some self respect.

Apparently R.C. just retired from aggy after decades of gladhanding and probably further hr violations.  So they probably have an opening.  I wish Mack would mive on down the road.

Mack bragged about 9 win seasons. That was his metric. Not 10. To be clear.

In looking at your very articulate and impressive rants on Mackie-Boy on this thread page (do your rantings draw raves?), I am drawn to a disturbing issue ... if Mack Brown is as feckless and worthless and as "average as everyday's wash" [at best] (thanks to Coach Royal for that quote), are we the Blue Blood in college football that we claim to be?

In our "storied" history, Mack Brown has the second highest number of wins, the second highest national championships won, the most bowl victories, second highest winning percentage (for coaching more than 5 seasons after WW Dos), is tied with Fred Akers for the 3rd most conference championships won.

Did Mack have (and still has) incredibly big flaws? 'Murica, Fuck Yeah.

It seems as if Mack's legacy is the very definition of when a team wins the coach gets too much credit ... when it loses, the coach gets too much blame.

And yes, Mack stepped on his dick royally in the last few years of his coaching regime on the 40 Acres.

But, for the piss and vitriol he gets from some seems to be way over the top.

Does he deserve a statue at UT? Hellz no.

Did he make mistakes and poor decisions along the way?  Again, 'Murica, Fuck Yeah.

And so, in conclusion, if you want to direct your anger at a more appropriate source, look to that moronic, birkenstock wearing, can't remember the name of his quarterback in a deposition, deep dickin' the wife of a wealthy alum, single digit IQ, cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low life, snake licking, dirt eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood sucking, dog kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-assed, bug-eyed, stiff legged, spotty lipped, worm headed, sack of monkey shit Coach Potato was, is and always shall be.

I see where you're coming from, but the bowl BS has to stop. Again, in 16 HE HAS 2 CC'S. His "wins" were mostly against the poverty teams, but when he went up against Stoops, his kryotonite, he folded over more than Riley Reid in a gangbang.

Those bowls were consolation prizes for those who couldn't make a BCS game, and he was well squinted with the Holiday bowl each and every year.

If the guy didn't burj the village to the ground on his way out, I may have forgiven him. But alas, being manlet tard just couldn't look what made him famous and all that month and walk away and had fan support. He pissed it all away, and now that we've seen the real Mack. It's ok to throw out how average he was in a below average conference where your only team to beat to get to a BCS game is ou, which he couldn't do because he's a moronic, below average, low IQ barely functioning retard.

He was blessed to have Akina/Robinson/Muschamp, because in offense we had GDGD (or CTJ to some). He needs huga and kisses tio make himself feel important. A guy who has millions still needs attention. What kind of pussy needs that after being the head coach at one of the most blue blood teams in history? He fucked himself on that one. He has no one to blame for his downfall other than himself. Being the idiot low IIQ dumbass that he is, after losing ro Bama, he decides we're going to be a running team now...except, you know, we didn't have the personnel for that. Square peg, round hole Mack.

Edit: I'm not a television show, so no, I don't get ratings.

Now, that right there is some greatness in response. But in its greatness, haven't you established even moreso my unfortunate statement ...

"if Mack Brown is as feckless and worthless and as "average as everyday's wash" [at best] (thanks to Coach Royal for that quote), are we the Blue Blood in college football that we claim to be?"

If by objective statistics and measurements, Mack Brown is our second most successful coach... and taking your argument to the next, logical step... how can we claim to be a true "Blue Blood?"

Now, fuck a big ole hairy duck, I very much consider us to be a Blue Blood... but without Mack's contributions, our claim to be in the same stratosphere as the Thurston Howell III of college football becomes a bit more tenuous.

Especially when you consider we brought in that brain dead mohron Charlie Not-So and Grill Boy Turtle Tom who was shit canned at FAU.

I appreciate what he did to get us back in the spotlight and for our first championship in 35 years. At the same time, I don't care to have him around. But I don't have the same vitriol as a lot here do.

If Powers and Dodds had any balls they would have stood up to Brown/Jamail, gave him his walking papers, hired Saban, and Mack never would have had the chance to burn it down. An AD with strong leadership doesn't let Mack have the power they allowed him to have and then let he and one booster dictate the fate of our program. They deserve as much - or more - blame as Mack for the 2013-2021 shitshow.

We're the original blue blood alongside USC, ND, tOSU, Michigan, OU, and weirdly enough, Nebraska, but they did dominate. We're 4th in wins all-time, which is why we're a blue blood.

The argument about Mack is he had all this talent he collected and managed to just win 2 CC'S in 16 seasons. That's the sign of a mediocre coach who had literally everything he asked for and still came up short year after year after year, outside of some Outliers like winning 1 NC, losing 1 NC (which is unbelievable that he was too stupid to put in the actual backup instead a kid who didn't grasp the entire playbook, nor participates with the 1at team offense).

To put this in perspective, Jim Tressel took Ohio State to 3 BCS NC games, won 1, and accumulated 6 CC'S, and he was there for 9 years, not, 16. And hat was in a harder conference than the Big 12, and he never had the #1 class.

My point is, Mack underachieved at Texas with everything at his disposal. All I did was take a random name out of the air that we beat for our 1 NC that year in Ohio State. Winning just 2 CC'S, 1 NC, and just making 2 BCS bowls at Texas, losing to Oklahoma damn near every year, and we have a shit ton of resources before NIL even began, is borderline criminal. Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate him for getting us out of the toilet we were in for 35 years, but that doesn't mean he didn't massively underachieve.

He's a thin-skinned, petulant baby who thinks he deserves more. But who knows who else we would have hired, (please don't utter the words Gary Daniels. I don't want to punch a hole in my wall. I dream bigger) and if they could have done a better job? All I'm saying is the man had it all, underachieved, and lit his "legacy" (whatever that means as far as beating up on the kansas' of the league and losing most years to ou with equal talent) on fire because he was too much of a crybaby to see that he was failing. He refused to see that the game was passing him by, and the worst part about him is he actively told recruits to look around instead of helping Strong adjust to Texas (he still would have failed, regardless). That's all he had to do. He could have taken up a role at Texas like Saban does at Alabama, but Mack is so scared that someone else will do better than him. His facade is he's a good ol boy, nice guy, when in reality he's pettish. I used to like the guy, even when most years all we did was make the holiday/Alamo bowl, but according to people inside the program (I don't know these people, just read about it) that he was a raging asshole.

Sorry for making such a long post, and appreciate conversing with you.

In other words.... VERY unsurly-like!

I tip my hat sir.

Same to you, sir. Appreciate the chat.

In our "storied" history, Mack Brown has the second highest number of wins, the second highest national championships won, the most bowl victories, second highest winning percentage (for coaching more than 5 seasons after WW Dos), is tied with Fred Akers for the 3rd most conference championships won.

The list of UT football coaches with more than 5 seasons after WWII is as follows:

DKR

Fred Akers

Mack Brown

Mack is second to last in winning % among UT coaches with 5 seasons post WWII

Fuck Mack Brown.

"Fuck" is not profane. At worst, you may consider it to be vulgar, which is "common", i.e. of the common folk. While a high proportion of Surlies consider us to be above and beyond common, there is a certain amount of Truth revealed in our language and convictions.

We would be the laughing stock of college fb if we put up a statue of a guy who set fire to the program on his way out # won only 2 CC's in 16 years here, and made 2 BCS games, not named the NC.

No we wouldn’t, because nobody outside of a segment of Texas fans thinks about Mack Brown in those terms.  Most would simply associate him with 2005 and being in the college football HOF based on his tenure at Texas.

I’m not advocating for the celebration of Mack - I’m as ambivalent about him as most on here - but you’re overestimating how much thought the rest of the world outside of an enthusiastic (surly?) cadre of Texas fans has given to Mack’s accomplishments and exit from Texas.

I get what you're saying, but even being in the HOF is a bit weird, considering how much harder he made it look than it really was. 1 NC and he's in the HOF with multiple 2-7 loss seasons. Am I missing something? He was underwhelming aside from -2004/'05, and 2008/'09. He had more support than he could ever ask for, and he failed (by failed I mean he should have been a BCS game staple, more than a holiday bowl ateendee) more than he won. 10 win seasons and being a constant in the Holiday bowl doesn't scream HOF, unless he's in the Holiday bowl HOF.

The man has made more dumbass decisions than I could possibly list. I'm certainly glad he got us out of wandering the desert for 35 years, but man, he should have done so much better with the classes he had, and the DC/DB coaches were elite and made him look better than he was. Incredible recruiter, stupid coach. He and GDGD.

Yes, you’re too close to the sun on this one. People on this board think about the things you listed; everybody else thinks “oh yeah, Mack Brown, that awesome Rose Bowl game. Texas won a lot in the ‘00s.” That’s as much detail as most remember.

(And it’s not weird that he’s in the HoF - national title + a consistent top-10 team for a decade at a blue blood generally gets you there.)

Well spoken.

I don't know enough to dislike Mack but count me as another unnecessary vote to keep him away from Sark and the football program until after we win the championship.  Fair enough, but for those of us that do, we remember Deloss and Jamail keeping him along far past his "sell by date". He needs to be run off. Keeping him around will be tantamount to bringing your dogs poop to a Champaign brunch and looking for an opportune time to, well you get the idea.
