5 people taking a vacation, dozens of posts deleted. If you want to talk politcs go to the cr. Stop fucking up this thread.

And the rest of you please report political posts. I don't have time to read every page.

This is one of the best threads this site has ever had, the confluence of information is amazing. No one is here for your fucking hot takes. If it's the least bit political you're taking time off.

There are various reports that RU has been greatly repelled from Kyiv. Like way way back.

If their vehicles were unable to be supplied by that convoy, they become stationary target, and are gonna bail fast.

We know there are shortages of materials - every knocked-out truck at this point represents anywhere from 2-3 truckloads through even 20+ truckloads (depending on when it was knocked out) of ammo, fuel, food, etc.  We know about the convoy and the knocked-out bridge and the destroyed vehicles that are jamming it up.

So now there's a shit-ton of vehicles that have been stuck on the roads for days now, in cold weather, running their engines, radios, etc., and as mentioned earlier if you get a big convoy stuck, getting gas up to the front of it is difficult, almost impossible, when your ability to travel alongside the road the convoy is on is limited due to mud.

Lack of ammo/supplies, out of gas, battery issues - that all helps take down the air defenses of that convoy.  And it'll start taking down some of the long range artillery.  You don't need gas or batteries to fire most howitzers, but you do need it if you rely on electronic targeting gear - you don't want to hit your own folks, and even if you pull out the manuals and calculate things by hand (or have some targeting computers that are still operational) every round is now extremely precious if you aren't getting more, so you're saving it becuase it needs to 100% be used against the enemy's forces, because they maybe attacking you.

If the attack on Kyiv is truly stalled or even starting to be pushed back, and Russia can't get air defenses/air superiority going, and their ground vehicles are becoming useless.

What the fuck does Putin do?  He's not exactly rolling in cruise missiles or precision guided bombs.  His strike aircraft are vulnerable to Stingers when they get low enough to make their dumb bombs count, but if they stay out of range, their bombs will miss the targets.

What if those divisions going at Kyiv get completely wrecked?  Where does he make up that manpower and all of that equipment?

Meanwhile, the West is still pouring in lots of weapons, and other aid, more drones are coming in and coming online.

What does Putin do to try and save those forces, if things are going badly for them?

Do they have enough people to fly the drones? I assume it is not easy. Maybe they can set up some sort of skynet.

I would love to chat more about 80’s turbo cars, but I don’t think this is the thread. Sorry.

Those drones they are running supposedly have a lot of automation (take off, landing, etc.).  I'm guessing the probably have enough folks since they might be only hands-on for small amounts of times (target selection/firing).

Ukraine claiming air and artillery strikes have slowed down.

I saw that in two places Russia announced a “ceasefire” For the humanitarian corridor and that India was pressuring them to do so. But so many of the tweets you see I don’t have a clue if the sites are credible or not. Mariupol was one of the two places.

This got interesting

Leads to this Republic of Buryatia website (Russian domain, looks like it's the official government website for Buryatia):

https://egov-buryatia.ru/press_center/news/detail.php?ID=125898&sphrase_id=84383359

Google Translate:

Quote

Aleksey Tsydenov expressed deep condolences and words of support to the families of those killed during the special operation to protect Donbass.

“Buryatia will remember the feat of our fellow countrymen who showed courage and courage in the course of carrying out combat missions. The guys chose a difficult path for themselves and died in the line of duty. I express my deep condolences to relatives and friends, all of Buryatia shares your sorrow,” Alexey Tsydenov said with words of condolence.

Quote

During the special operation in Ukraine, eight servicemen were killed, 40 servicemen from Buryatia were injured and are receiving treatment in hospitals.

The memory of the soldiers will remain in the hearts of the people of Buryatia. Blessed memory of the heroes.

That would be huge, for one of the Republicans to mention that their boys are getting killed and wounded.

People have mentioned that Russia has done this before, and then declared that anybody remaining was an insurgent/Nazi/whatever and proceeded to kill them on sight.

Maybe @956 Worldwide knows more.

Its not quite that dramatic and openly war-crimey, but close.  First, there’s no general ceasefire to allow civilians to move to said corridors. Then yes— they generally would become much more indiscriminate with air and artillery in areas that are not “humanitarian corridors” because allegedly all the civilians should have left and because any place not “humanitarian” is “dedicated fighting.” They can also be expected to use any lull or pause to reposition and resupply, it’s not deescalation but a way to escalate more effectively.

The UN refused to oversee several such deals in Syria for this reason.

Those hatches look about as thick as the doors on a late 80s Suzuki Samurai.

And that BMP-2 looks ancient.

I'm convinced wherever a bunch of this armor was sitting, the check to see if the armor was put on the train flatcar was whether it started up to move itself there..... and not much else.  This one was abandoned because the soldiers deserted (food or whatever), not because it broke down, but so many of them did break down and continue to break down, when the soldiers aren't putting holes in their own fuel tanks!

This is a standard Russian tactic.

And the ceasefire has been broken

https://www.theguardian.com/world/live/2022/mar/05/russia-ukraine-war-latest-news-nato-gives-green-light-to-bombing-with-lack-of-no-fly-zone-says-zelenskiy

Mariupol officials say Russian troops not observing ceasefire

Mariupol’s city council has said Russian forces were not observing an agreed ceasefire along the entire length of a planned route for the evacuation of civilians, Reuters reports.

“We are negotiating with the Russian side to confirm the ceasefire along the entire evacuation route,” it said in a statement.

The route of the corridor is Mariupol - Nikolske - Rozivka - Polohy - Orikhiv - Zaporizhzhia.

Authorities had previously urged civilians to leave, with mayor Vadim Boichenko saying on Telegram: “When our home city is constantly under the ruthless fire of the occupiers there is no choice other than to allow residents – us – to leave Mariupol safely.”

That makes a lot of sense. El Paso, like Lviv, might as well be another country it's so far from the east border of the state. Also, Austin has become radioactive, Odessa is in the middle of nowhere, and Amarillo might as well be fucking traitor okies.

"Welcome to Snyder: If Texas was Ukraine, You'd be in Kiev" is a pretty good motto for that fair and beatiful town.

I dunno.  If they truly were a puppet I would think they'd already be in NATO.  They want to be western.  There's a difference between that and being a puppet.

Also, this whole topic feels very cloaky. Perhaps have this discussion over there and leave this thread to news updates?

Agreed, no more geopolitics talk from me.

Perfect. Putin can nuke Russia and take care of that for us
