I'm trying to replace a couple 3way switches in my house. Looks like the original 1940 wiring and it doesn't make any sense to me. Below is a picture of and diagram. I've tried replacing the middle switch ( new switch in photo) but the breaker flips when I turn it on. I've tried wiring it every way possible and same result. What am I doing wrong?
