After some hemming and some hawing and investigating he might get sat down for the UMass game.

Just don’t let him get suspended this week.

I want his smarmy ass to witness and experience the inevitable ass-kicking the Horns are going to administer, in person.🤘🏻

At a minimum, Smart should be suspended for the rest of the season for that shit. Maybe terminated.

Is this even on the radar? I watched hours of CFB yesterday, but only saw Smarts incident on Twitter but that was it. Seems like less than a non starter

Kirby claims he didn’t remember doing it. SEC rules: he can just claim he slipped into a fugue state and we all have to accept it and move on.

That's the same excuse he's been hearing from lots of his players the past few years

So we "haven't seen the best Georgia we can see"

But we have seen the best Texas we can see?  I mean the last few games have had some up and down moments, even though they've been won by 19-31.

Of course. Texas will play 60 minutes like the middle part of the scrimmage-like Mississippi State game and Georgia will play 60 minutes like the second half of the Clemson game.

All of Georgia’s shit secondary play will be fixed and all of Ewers’ start against OU will be in play.

Of course, Georgia can win. If both teams play anything like their tendencies so far this season, it’s pretty unlikely. But who the hell knows.

So interesting little side note on this. My close friend was/is dating (fiancé) the head of one of the marketing departments of the C4 brand. Of course my friend and our whole group are Texas grads. So them doing a deal with Bijan was greatly appreciated. He got to meet Bijan and he sent me some cool picks with him, I think from the photo shoot.

“I have a really strange feeling about this game. I’m going to be honest with you. I think it’s going to be high scoring. I think both offenses are going to be able to move the football. I think that Georgia, for whatever reason, is going to play their best football game. Because Georgia, while no one is really talking about this, no one is really saying the quiet part out loud, but if Georgia loses this game it is far from a foregone conclusion that they’re in the college football playoff. They still have to go to Ole Miss. They still have to play Tennessee at home. It is not a guarantee that Georgia is in the playoff in the event in which they lose this game. Texas, however, things look pretty good for the Longhorns. So you know what I’m getting? I think I’m getting a desperate Georgia football team. I think I’m going to get Georgia’s best punch. And I think Georgia goes to Austin and pulls the upset.

Is Bond still “questionable” for the Georgia game, as of today? I sure hope he can play, as he was on a team that beat them last year. I know - apples to oranges, but “big game” environment experiences is nice.

I don't think Texas will buy into any thought that they have a mulligan if they lose.

This team seems to have the heart and drive with expectations to beat down everyone they face. They are highly motivated.

Fuck Georgia...#HookEm!

He’s an admitted Georgia homer. Still a lot of fun to watch his stuff.

He's great. Both in substance and the way he conveys it.

I like making fun of the collective SEC fan base, but there's no questioning the passion for college football in the southeast. The amount of content - much of it pretty high level - compared to what we saw in the Big 12, is night and day. Even if Nebraska, A&M and Missouri stayed in the conference it wouldn't have come close to matching what I see week in and week out with the SEC fandom. Colorado, of course, never mattered. There is no way that school keeps Sanders if he can manage to win. They just don't care enough.

That's what makes the SEC fun to be a part of. Nearly every week we're facing a fanbase whose whole identity is based around how their team does the upcoming weekend in ways that rarely happened outside of OU in the Big 12.

There's some wishcasting with SEC fans. I certainly think Georgia can win this game. They're still Georgia. But the collective hope being invested by the SEC faithful in a Georgia win is downright heartwarming. It would be fun to see the rug pulled out from under them.

Texas winning out, going undefeated and winning a title the first year in the SEC and the first year with a 12 team playoffs(meaning they'll have to win at least 1 more extra game than anyone else ever has will be eternal scoreboard IMO>

The best way to use a mulligan is play so well you don't need one.

Why Kirby Smart says playing defensive line is like playing the Battleship board game

John Brice        1 hour ago

Georgia is coming off one of THOSE performances.

A stand-on-business, we-have-not-gone-anywhere victory at Texas last Saturday.

Of particular note was the Bulldogs' overall dominance along their defensive front, which helped stymie then-No. 1 Texas and its previously high-octane offense.

The Longhorns were limited to 29 net rushing yards on 27 official tries, held to three-for-20 on third- and fourth-down conversion attempts and sacked seven times as part of Georgia's 10-TFL effort.

The Bulldogs routinely shifted their defensive front in the final seconds before the Texas offense snapped the ball.

Though Georgia coach Kirby Smart said movement up front has been a part of the game for "hundreds of years," he did also reveal why shifting that first line of defense is key to the Bulldogs' defensive philosophy.

"That's called stinting and it's been going on for hundreds of years," Smart said Wednesday on the SEC's weekly coaches' Zoom. "You don't want to sit in one place.

"They motion and they move people around offensively to try to gain leverage and gain an advantage. It's like Battleship: if you leave your stuff in the same spot all the time, they eventually blow you up.

"So, we're just trying to make sure that we aren't always sitting still in the same spot."

Needless to say, there was no point Saturday night where Georgia had to hear anyone from Texas exclaim, "You sunk my battleship."

Babers discussed it on 2nd watch but called it stemming.
