Here's what happened to a city employee who cursed during Corpus Christi council meeting

Letting Joseph Johnson go wasn't easy for Corpus Christi City Manager Peter Zanoni.

Johnson, who started as Assistant Director of Parks and Beach Operations for the city, was the employee who dropped the f-bomb over his mic during Tuesday's regular City Council meeting.

"F*** you, Peter," Johnson said.

"The unfortunate thing is, he's one of my strongest executives," Zanoni told the Caller-Times on Wednesday. "He's a real good leader ... So it was his real poor judgment. He's a big supporter as well of what we're doing (as a) team. And it's really out of character compared to everything he said, and has done his time with the city."

San Diego: due to covid, need to close schools, churches, restaurants, etc. But strip clubs can still be open. Priorities bitches!

https://www.kusi.com/san-diego-strip-clubs-open-indoors-but-churches-schools-gyms-and-restaurants-forced-to-close/

Indoor operations in locations such as restaurants, museums, places of worship, breweries and retail businesses will have to either close entirely, move to outdoor operations only or modify in other ways.

But, San Diego strip clubs will remain open, despite the move to the Purple Tier. Supervisor Jim Desmond joined KUSI News Monday evening to highlight the absurd inconsistencies in Newsom’s reopening process.

The mayor of Wauwatosa, WI has set a new low in the depths of stupidity. Sadly, there was a shooting at Mayfair Mall in the city on Nov. 20. Eight people were wounded, but all expected to recover. The mayor put out a statement that said, I am not kidding:

"Guns have no place in shopping malls or other places in which crowds of people gather. Mayfair has a strict no-gun policy. If the shooter had complied with that policy, no one would have been hurt yesterday."

You know, I can kind of empathize because I SORT of did the same thing.  Not on camera but within ear range. Yeah, I'm a dumbass. Fortunately, everybody got a big laugh out of it and a stern "let this be a warning"  lecture.

Sorry for partying, indeed. the last line brings the lulz.

József Szájer, a senior member of the Fidesz party who helped write Hungary’s constitution in 2011, was one of about 20 people, mainly men and including at least two EU diplomats, who attended a party held near the Grand Place in the Belgian capital’s historical centre on Friday evening.

The MEP had attempted to escape the scene by climbing out of a window from the first floor apartment before being spotted by a passerby “fleeing along the gutter”, according to Sarah Durant, a spokeswoman for the Brussels region’s deputy public prosecutor.

“The man’s hands were bloody,” Durant said. “It is possible that he may have been injured while fleeing. Narcotics were found in his backpack. The man was unable to produce any identity documents. He was escorted to his place of residence, where he identified himself as SJ (1961) by means of a diplomatic passport.” It was reported he tried to claim diplomatic immunity.

In a statement, Szájer, 59, who resigned on Sunday without mentioning his brush with the law, apologised for his “irresponsible” behaviour but denied carrying drugs.

He said: “A newspaper article appeared in the Belgian press today about a house party in Brussels on Friday, which I attended. After the police asked for my identity – since I did not have ID on me – I declared that I was an MEP.

“The police continued the process and finally issued an official verbal warning and transported me home.

“I did not use drugs. I offered to the police to take an instant test, but they did not do it. Police said an ecstasy pill was found. It’s not mine, I don’t know who placed it and how. I made a statement to the police about this.”

Szájer, who is married to Tünde Handó, a prominent Hungarian lawyer and judge with whom he has a daughter, asked his family to forgive him in his statement.

He wrote: “I deeply regret violating the Covid restrictions – it was irresponsible on my part. I am ready to pay the fine that occurs. With my resignation on Sunday I drew the political and personal consequences.

“I apologise to my family, to my colleagues, to my voters. I ask them to evaluate my misstep against a background of 30 years of devoted and hard work. The misstep is strictly personal. I am the one who owns responsibility for it.”

Two other people, aged about 43 and 33, claimed diplomatic immunity when discovered at the party, where many had been found wearing little or no clothes, according to local reports. A source told the DH Sports newspaper: “We interrupted a gang bang.”

This map shows the rudest place names in the world

Published
23 November 2016

From Lake Minnewanka in Canada to Bonar Bridge in the UK, the map pinpoints 280 towns, villages, roads and lakes with the rudest names in the world.

As far as maps go, it's useless for navigation but it will probably make you laugh.

A man destroying property with a backhoe early Sunday led Huntington police on a chase that escalated into an exchange of gunfire that left him dead and sent an officer to the hospital with serious injuries.

The Indiana State Police are investigating the officer-involved shooting at the request of the Huntington Police Department, the state agency said in a news release.

A 3:35 a.m. disturbance call alerted city police to the vandalism in the 100 block of Shultz Drive, where officers found a man destroying property around the neighborhood with the machinery, state police said.

City and county police officers pursued the man around the southwest neighborhood, including near Horace Mann Elementary and Riverside Middle School, where the man continued to damage public and private properties, state police said.

During the pursuit, the man shot and injured a Huntington police officer, state police said. The man was shot, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Huntington County coroner, who will release his identity, state police added.

An ambulance took the officer to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne with serious injuries, state police said.

The police department updated its Facebook followers about the officer's condition midday Sunday: “Although our officer is in serious condition, his injuries remain non-life threatening.”

State police won't release the identities of the officers involved until a review by the Huntington County prosecutor's office.

A Grand Haven couple will have to pay for disposing of their son’s pornography collection.

The only question is how much.

David Werking, 42, sued his parents, Beth and Paul Werking, after they tossed out what a judge called “a trove of pornography and an array of sex toys.”

U.S. District Judge Paul Maloney in Kalamazoo granted the son’s request for summary judgment in his favor.

David Werking ..... more like David Jerking

Illegal winery busted at Alabama sewage plant

RAINSVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Sheriff’s officials say they’ve busted an illegal winery that was operating at a municipal sewage plant in a small north Alabama town.

The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement it received an anonymous tip about an alcohol operation at a municipal building in the town of Rainsville on Thursday. Investigators then uncovered what’s described as a large illegal winery inside the Rainsville Waste Water Treatment Plant.

Photos released by investigators show glass containers, buckets, a fermenting rack and other equipment often used by people who make wine at home.

The agency says officers seized a lot of illegal alcohol, and arrests are expected. The town of about 5,100 people is 100 miles northeast of Birmingham.

“I want to thank the mayor for his cooperation and willingness to allow law enforcement to do our job and shut something like this down,” Sheriff Nick Welden said in a statement. “This is definitely one of the biggest operations we’ve seen in our county and possibly our state.”

Reviews say the wine was shitty.

Octopuses Observed Punching Fish, Perhaps Out of Spite, Scientists Say

octo-punch_1024.gif

Evidently, there's some partnership behavior going on with octo-fish-slapping under ordinary circumstances, but the researchers note:

Quote

"In these cases, two different theoretical scenarios are possible. In the first one, benefits are disregarded entirely by the octopus, and punching is a spiteful behaviour, used to impose a cost on the fish," the researchers write.

"In the other theoretical scenario, punching may be a form of aggression with delayed benefits (i.e. direct negative reciprocity or punishment), where the octopus pays a small cost to impose a heavier one on the misbehaving partner, in an effort to promote collaborative behaviour in the following interactions."

While we can't yet know for sure why octopuses are randomly punching fish like this, at least one of the theoretical explanations given suggests octopuses may have some serious attitude.

An L.A. County Sheriff's deputy allegedly had sex on the Universal Studios lot, and the guy had his mic open for all to hear ... and the recording is now the talk of the department.

Apparently one of the participants was a movie buff, because the encounter went down right by the Bates Motel on the lot.

You hear a woman moaning as a dispatcher from the Sheriff's station repeatedly tries to get her deputy's attention, telling him he had an open mic.

The deputy doesn't respond ... but the woman does, throughout the clip.

Growing up in a strict Baptist family, Nikole Mitchell was expected to be quiet, reserved and sweet. But her dreams weren’t quite so conservative.

“From a young age, I had fantasized about being a stripper,” Mitchell, who now works as an erotic dancer on OnlyFans, told The Post. “But I was indoctrinated to believe my desires and my body were innately sinful and bad.”

So instead of pursuing the pole, the mother of three went all-in on religion — and became a pastor. Even that, however, was rebellious in her family’s eyes.

“I was taught that women aren’t allowed to lead and that women belong in the kitchen and with the children,” said Mitchell, 36. “So even though it went against everything I was told, I decided to become [a pastor] because of my love for performing.”

Quote

But Mitchell’s true identity began to unfurl when she attended a LGBT-oriented theater performance later in 2016.

“I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, I don’t think I’m straight’ and it rocked my world,” said Mitchell, who now identifies as bisexual and pansexual. “I knew if I revealed my queerness I would lose it all because the church is not welcoming to queer people.”

She suddenly felt as if she was living “a very duplicitous life” and struggled to keep her sexuality a secret.

So after giving her first widely-attended weekend sermon on July 4th weekend in 2017, Mitchell left the church for good.

“I just never showed up again,” she said.

She reportedly makes $100k a month.
