Missed Mutha Hustla's Tweet..... What did it say??

Basically, she wrote about staying strong and not getting discouraged about lack of playing time and redshirting.

From Inside Texas:

Freshman Mike Williams shocked everyone when he up and left the team this past week.

"Nobody saw that coming," said a source.

So what happened? "It wasn't homesickness as far as I know. He wasn't happy with not playing. Red-shirting is frustrating for players to go through."

Okay, but now it will be even longer before he plays, and was he better than people ahead of them (I asked rhetorically)? Should he have been playing? "I guess he could have played because of the new rules, but I don't think he was ready mentally. Physically, sure, but he wasn't assignment sound." I

I asked if there was a chance he could come back. "Really doubtful, once you quit like that it's a really bad statement if you let the player return. If he would have just talked it over with someone things would have probably gone differently."

Indeed. This isn't Youngblood where you get to quit, go home and become mentally tougher, and then two weeks later return to lead your team to victory.

That written, Williams isn't officially gone yet. We'll let Texas declare that when/if it becomes time.

See this is where hermans "score 1 more point" attitude is dumb.  We could/should have blown out at least San Diego and Kansas and played some of these guys in the 4th quarter, while preserving their RS.

A) do you really think he wanted all of our games to be close?

B) San Diego?

I think he was more concerned with that than we will know. Didn’t he admit to basically killing the offense after being up 19 against KSU?

Dude, the Chargers moved to Los Angeles last year.

While this isn't a crushing loss for this program I don't understand the decision. You have a golden opportunity in front of you and throw it away to enter the unknown?

Family is family but a degree from UT would probably help his family out a lot.

How? There are probably only a small handful of the 80 scholarship football players every season who would ever find themselves in the future networking to land some office job with their UT degree. How many of these guys are even pursuing a STEM degree or any degree that would mean anything in this climate?

Surprising.  Can we no longer block teams in the schedule, or are blocks now limited only to within conference?

With new transfer rules, not sure Coaches are allowed to block any transfers....

If a Texas player transfers to a B12 Team, I've read that a past B12 Conference rule requires that an undergraduate player loses a year of eligibility and is still required to sit out a year.  (This rule may or may not still be valid, but conferences are still allowed to have more restrictive rules for in-conference transfers.)

1. No blocking

2. Sit out a year

3. Tampering would still be an offense prior to entering portal or leaving scholarship status at Texas

But if Williams redshirted this fall (2018), isn't he now eligible to play fall 2019?

Dude is supposed to be like dirt poor. The fuck?

Still curious about what kind of financial arrangement Mike Williams has at LSU as a walk-on??

So, this is kind of like transferring to LSU....but without a scholarship.  I'd think a very good chance of making the team and getting a scholly.  Probably, living with fam there in BR.  Hmmm.

We're never going to see it, that's for sure.

If MW has a good spring, I guess Cajun Cookie Monster will whittle down the LSU roster and give MW a scholarship this summer.

I mentioned it on the recruiting thread as well. I think it is worth Herman's sending a PI to nose around a little. If nothing is obvious, drop it. If mystery cash money seems to be dripping off of MW, it may be worth making an example.

those casinos pay in straight purple checked Perriloux chips, yo.

I used to usher at church with a LSU grad. He played basketball there back in the day. Anyway we were talking about Perriloux one Sunday morning during the height of his fucking up at LSU and I said Texas dodged a bullet there. He said Perriloux sounds like the kind of asshole y’all would recruit

He paid the school president personally with 3 nutria pelts, an alligator tooth,  a bag of oyster shells, and some boudin he stole from a gas station freezer. Good to go.

Mike quit last Dec 2018...

Weird question... Could a transfer like Mike Williams play in the CFP games if LSU needs him??

Somewhere in the past I think I read that the rules allow transfers to play in bowl games if the player has completed the academic fall semester??

Here's some info that I found:

The basic rule: If a player transfers, they have to sit out a season.  They aren’t allowed to play in games for a full academic year, though they can practice and train with their new team during that time.
