Optimally played, craps has better odds. The way 99% of people play, it doesn't.

I think you can say that for every game played in a casino. I’m amazed at colleagues that drop a couple grand playing some game they don’t really know how to play or that has terrible odds when played correctly.

Craps is so slow and easy and won’t eat your bank with minimal basic instructions. Of course there’s all the numbskulls that love the sucker bets.

Nola Takeover Part 2 - Eat Drink Travel Group

Yeah, no.  We've been to New Orleans several times in the past few years, and Mrs.LL specifically said that she wanted to go elsewhere.

I'm thinking maybe Miami or San Diego.

I ventured over to Ceasars today (staying a Bellagio) and there were people just now finding out that was no show tonight or tomorrow.  I need to take the opposite trade of literally any trade these peeps make.

Had $220 in Southwest Travel Funds expiring in March. Tried to guilt them into Omicron-extending expiry, but they gave me the GFY, so impromptu Vegas return set for Feb 3-8.

I’m there Feb 7-12, staying at NYNY for a golf tourney at Paiute. Maybe we can grab a bite

I can spread it out, not sure about the clubs. I'll check on that

I’d do Sinatra and/or SW personally. Sinatra was the only place we always went every time at least once when we were doing Wynn/Encore a lot. And SW is probably favorite steakhouse in Vegas. Haven’t been to that Delilah place yet, but it looks pretty cool. May be more of a place for drinks though, I don’t know. Also haven’t been to the Mexican place but I bet it’s pretty good, although you might not think so. Do not do Lakeside, Cipriani or Mizumi (sorry @bigup2dahorns ). Looks like all the “clubs” are maybe closed? But other than that, you could just blow it on booze at some of the cool bars around the property.

Downside to Delilah; it was enforcing a 2 hour limit.  Wife and I are intrigued, but at same time, they don't want you loitering around after your meal, plus....maybe I'm an old, but I'm not sure it's my thing.  Gorgeous place, however.

Article says they don’t really enforce it if you’re still eating and ordering food. Normally I’d say fuck that policy, but with a show, I get it. Especially if they’ve got some flexibility for people who are clearly still spending money and not just loitering to watch the show. If you’re an old, I’d be more worried about the noise level and lack of lighting.

Yes on the noise level, lack of lighting is what the flash is for on my phone 😃

Regarding the 2 hour limit; another site says only your table is guaranteed for 2 hours, but nothing about being forced to leave after that.  Also saw that depending on the night, there might be a minimum of up to four figures with a reservation.

Doesn’t surprise me. If it’s as hard to get into as they’re saying. That’ll go away once the initial hype wears off I’d think.

How the hell did you get that?!?

Not mine for sure. My bosses brother in law is some big swinging dick around there but an old dude. He will be there that week and told me I can use it. Last year he gave me a 250 dollar credit for the Cosmo and I used at STK and it wasn't worth it so hoping to get something worth it this time. Also this will probably be a 4 person dinner with my boss and his wife

Great pic.

I think Aaron is having trouble finding work since BB. I think his Jessie character typecast him some. Wouldn’t think Cranston would be though, but I guess you never know.

Wicked Spoon at Cosmo was open in October.

I can’t say anything about their normal operations, as $80 for 2 breakfast buffets put me off.

Who eats $40 worth of bacon and eggs and shit?

Makin a killing, I’ll give em that. Wasn’t worth the price of admission. Maybe $20/per but hell no at $40/ea.

Yep the UK Daily Mail has some reporting on that as did the typical Vegas gossip guys. Something about she didn’t want to float over a lake they built on the stage and needed to redo the sound and lighting at the last min. Lots of behind the scenes drama supposedly.

Just back from wildcard weekend.  Mask mandates are the real deal - tables and sports book,  rent a cops are on the job as are the dealers/pit bosses.  Look for outdoor spaces to eat/hang out to get away from all mask, all the time.     Bud Beer Garden at Paris good spot to watch games,  although for SB and likely conference champ games,  you'll need reservations at any/all sports bars.   No trouble finding food spots - seems like fewer tables / dealers available most place

Seems like the Stadium Pool at Circa might be a good choice.

I tried. I failed. My “bottomless pit” buddy might have cleared $30 worth, which probably cost them $4 or so.
Yea breakfast only would suck. Looking for the real deal like 8 years ago but doubt I'll find it but would be cool to find something close.

No big deal if doesn't happen imo. Ilm hit Lous of Siam, Din Tai Fung for my gf and then just kick it and eat and drink as I please.

Bacchanal at Caesars is fully open and is the best in the city anyway. We did the Wicked Spoon brunch several months back and found it to be more than just "eggs and bacon" and were pleased, but YMMV.

Brunch vs breakfast is a different spread. $40 was just too much for the offerings and quality. Maybe it was a rona thing or something.

Speaking of Vegas and the rona, more chatter out about the Adelle thing.

Gist of it being her call, unhappy with production, blah blah.

Her name on the marquee, so whatever.

Bally’s rebrand to Horseshoe:

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 26, 2022 /PRNewswire/ --

Legendary casino brand Horseshoe is returning to Las Vegas as Bally's begins a transformation into the brand known for gaming, poker and making it right for the gambler.

The transformation will begin in the spring of 2022 and will include a renovated exterior, new entertainment and food and beverage options, and a reimagined casino floor and public areas. In keeping with Horseshoe's classic sophistication, the design team will incorporate a handcrafted feeling with tooled leather, dramatic colors, and the brand's signature gold horseshoe iconography. Additional details will be announced as the evolution progresses.

"At Horseshoe, it's all about the gambler. Since 1951 Horseshoe Casinos have been home to the best odds, highest limits, and biggest jackpots. So, it's fitting that we bring Horseshoe back to Las Vegas, and right on the Las Vegas Strip," said Jason Gregorec, SVP and General Manager of the property. "Holding to the Horseshoe tradition of providing impeccable service, our guests will see the property transform over time, ensuring we aren't disrupting the excitement while we make the transition."

Occupying one of the most coveted locations in gaming, Horseshoe Las Vegas will stand at the 50-yard-line of the Las Vegas Strip at the corner of Flamingo Rd. The multi-million dollar investment is the latest in a series of reimaginings for Caesars Entertainment's storied Las Vegas resorts, including a new entrance to Caesars Palace, multi-million dollar investments in casino floor, and gaming technology across the properties, and incredible partnerships with world-class entertainers and restaurateurs.

"Bringing the Horseshoe brand back to life in Las Vegas allows us to celebrate both our history and our future," said Sean McBurney, Regional President of Caesars Entertainment. "2022 starts a new era for the Caesars Entertainment empire in Las Vegas, one being heralded by the return of Horseshoe."

Horseshoe Casino was started by a gambler for gamblers. Over the years, as the brand expanded to markets across the country, Horseshoe has stayed true to its heritage, holding on to the thrilling spirit of no-limit betting. That spirit will come alive this summer as Caesars Entertainment's World Series of Poker returns to its roots, having been first played at Las Vegas' original Horseshoe in 1970, as it moves to the Strip for the very first time.

"We couldn't be more excited to see the World Series of Poker return to Horseshoe," said Ty Stewart, SVP and Executive Director of the World Series of Poker. "Horseshoe is where it all began for WSOP. It's always been a brand for gamblers and card players. As we move WSOP to the Las Vegas Strip for the first time, that it will happen at Horseshoe makes it incredibly special."

The 53rd annual World Series of Poker comes to the Strip May 31 – July 19, 2022, just as the property begins construction. For more information, visit www.wsop.com.

The transformation to Horseshoe Las Vegas should be complete by the end of 2022.

Gotta make reservations at Bacchanal though.  We tried a walk-up, gotta go through their app and ended up at #135 on the list.  Said screw it, walked over to Joe's, was seated right away, albeit in the bar area, had a great meal, drinks, dessert, the whole deal, so like a couple hours if not a bit more.  Upon leaving Joe's, checked the Bacchanal waiting list and we were at #126.

I did a radio commercial for The Horseshoe back in the 80's. Some guy name Vick Vickery was in charge. Fucker wouldn't even throw in a comp weekend for the gig. /csb
