This sounds like something that someone who got roofied by a midget hooker and then face-fucked by a clown would say.

Oddly specific.

Lawdy….inflation has hit Vegas!

Our go-to lunch snack was at the Barbary Coast sportsbook kiosk - $1.25 for a hotdog & a beer from the bar.

A longtime Strip restaurant, Julian Serrano Tapas, will close at Aria on Feb. 1, 2025.

A new concept will open in the Julian Serrano Tapas space in late 2025.

Shame as it was a gem for many years - Solid run

I loved grabbing a late lunch there while waiting for others to arrive on day 1. It was never busy though, so I can’t say I am surprised.

Interesting, I only went there once and when we wanted Tapas mostly went to Jaleo, next door.

Any news if it is going to be another Serrano concept?

I think Serrano is 74 and rumored to be retiring from the restaurant game but we should hear soon what is going into that space

That makes sense with Picasso closing as well.

Got a trip coming up in March and staying at the Palazzo. I’m hoping Bazaar Meats in the palazzo is finally open by then to try it.

got Mott 32 locked down and also got a table at Scarpetta, has anyone ever been to Scarpetta? Should I do Sinatra instead for Italian?

Ditto, but since they haven’t even said what space in Palazzo it is going into, I think it might be awhile still.

Back to back trips last week and this week for work.  Dinners at Lotus of Siam, Javier's, Scarpetta, and Peter Luger's. The first two I hit no matter what every time I'm in Vegas since I know exactly what to order. Garlic prawns and duck khao soi at Lotus and the Dungeness crab enchiladas at Javier's. Scarpetta is famous for their spaghetti - simple but that pomodoro sauce is fire. Also had a couple of quick meals at Tacos el Gordo and Hattie B's hot chicken.

Found a $10 blackjack table at Cromwell and then called the Rhino for the free pick up after. Zero entrance fee and you get to use the VIP entrance. Can talk down dances from $40 for 1 to $100 for 5.

Getting the annual "I should move to Vegas" itch

I’ve always wanted to retire and be one of those dudes that live in Aria and just play the daily poker tournaments. Wonder how long that would take to get old

I don’t know but it sure seems like it would be fun to find out.

Had a pair of Aunts/Uncles who lived out there and they loved it. One couple passed away out there and the other moved back to Ky when grandkids started popping out. Had the itch myself but the wife wasn’t a fan of the idea, mainly due to employment opps.

Have a buddy who sold his company 3 years ago and has been doing this ever since. Spends a lot of time at the titter in between and seems lonely but happy at the same time.

That’s pretty cool. I’ve attended a game there and that stadium is terrific.

This. Fuck the raiders, but they did a very nice job with that stadium.

Jerry could learn a lot from them, but won’t.

Allegiant is one of the smallest stadiums in the NFL. That’s going to be a pricey ticket!

We talked about this in the ticket thread, but yes, the new model of playing championship games in smallish NFL stadiums (albeit with elite amenities which I'm sure is what the big wigs in the CFP committee and administrators like) is killing the 'get in' price for fans.  Prices for ND/Ohio State were pretty crazy (believe about a $5K for shitty uppers day of game) and Atlanta seats about $6K more than Vegas I believe.

I just wanted to see if anyone has eaten at Hell’s Kitchen? If so, how was it? My wife is asking to go on our next Vegas trip but it just seems like an over priced attraction to me.

Goodbye $10 tables.

I stayed there for NYE. It's a fun casino without the blare of Fremont. The expansion looks very nice and it's needed.

We're staying there in August so we'll see.

They better not be Cromwelling the thing. There was no reason to mess with the place as it was greatness.

Am I reading this right? $1,000 for the table and then another $800 in food and bev on top?

Good question. It seems like it. $1,000 for the reservation plus the $800 food/drink minimum spend. But it’s not entirely clear to me.

Planning to go here for the first time ever in mid October for a bachelor party. Got a pretty big group going (around 25) and was hoping for some good dinner recs and general tips to make it a good trip. Planning on playing at Paiute one day and then will have 2 other days to do whatever. Experts please chime in.

Tip 1. Spend 30 min and read the last 10 or so pages of this thread.

Dealing with 25 people in Vegas is like herding cats. Is everyone staying at the same place and if so which one?

A possible dinner spot for a younger large group is Battista’s Hole in the Wall. It’s more affordable versus most of the Strip restaurants and they can handle bigger groups and it’s more of a fun casual environment. Many people on this site have done nice steak dinners for bachelor parties but not sure about a group of 25.

Don’t plan on doing anything as a group with a group that large. Even if you plan an activity and just tell everyone to show up at a particular time, you will have significant attrition. With that large of a group, guys will break into groups of 4-6 and just do their own thing. Sounds like a nightmare to attempt to manage.

Add to my last post that a bachelor party with 25 guys is a seriously bad idea. With a group that large, the chances that there’s a Cayden or Chad that can’t keep his mouth shut is incredibly high. He’ll go home to his girlfriend Mackenzie and tell her all about Aidan doing coke off a stripper’s ass and then losing $10k on the roulette wheel when he put it all on 00.

I am assuming this is not the real bachelor party and there will be a smaller bachelor party. At least if anyone knows what the fuck they are doing.

I once attended a Vegas bachelor party with supposedly 17 people and we all stayed at the same hotel. Not once during the entire weekend did I see 2 of the 17 people but I was told they were in town and at the same hotel.

I've been a part of a number of bachelor parties in Vegas and many other gatherings with 8+ people. My view is the same as others - plan on going out with groups of 6-10 at most, outside of the strip club/stripper event. In doing so, if you start now, you'll have no issues booking the restaurants of your choice along the strip.
