Amended rules today from gaming commission:

Licensees must require patrons to wear face coverings at table and card games if there is no barrier, partition, or shield between the dealer and each player. This requirement applies to table and card game players, spectators, and any other person within 6 feet of any table or card game

It didn't get any better than the Barbary / Bill's.    Small, quaint casino.   Great location, mid Strip.   Easy access, in and out.   Low min tables.  Excellent cocktail service.  Great dealers.   And then around midnight to sunup you got one of the best shows in Vegas with the Drais crowd.  And on that subject, the craps tables were 5 or 6 feet from the women's restroom.

Pure gold.

Was a Drai’s junky going back all the way to Victor Drai himself.  Man those were truly the days.  And seeing the look on gamblers faces walking in or out was a highlight.  That was before cell phones had cameras so you’d see the biggest of stars down there and trim that’s completely unheard of today.

Allegiant Stadium is on the bucket list. I've been a pseudo Raiders fan since George Blanda. The move was definitely something Al Davis would have done and I love it (sorry Oakland). Have any shows opened yet or just casinos and restaurants?

How do you drink at table and poker games with a mask on? When we were there a couple weeks ago I wore a mask at the craps table until the cocktail waitress came, then no mask. If the mask is 100% required and enforced, I wouldn’t play craps without alcohol.

Btw, it’s been 14 days since we returned and no COVID symptoms. I’m calling that a success.

Worried about bringing Covid home?  Don't be, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

Two Las Vegas pool clubs are reopening in time for Fourth of July weekend crowds.

MGM Grand’s Wet Republic Ultra Pool and Aria’s Liquid Pool Lounge plan to open July 2, according to a Wednesday statement from MGM Resorts International and Hakkasan Group.

The two won’t operate as typical dayclubs, and are instead reopening as extentions of the properties’ resort pools to support customer demand. All visitors must be 21 and over, according to the statement.

The venues will follow update health and safety protocols. Both will use a paperless menu system that’s accessible on cell phones via QR code, and daybeds and lounge furniture will be separated to allow for physical distancing. The statement said a “rigorous cleaning plan” will also be implemented.

Bungalow, cabana and daybed reservations are required for both hotel and non-hotel guests.

Wet Republic reservations also offers bottle sevice packages. The venue had a multi-million dollar renovation completed earlier this year, and offers two new plunge pools nearly 100 feet long, 10 cabanas and 12 bungalows with “spacious seating” and flat screen TVs.

Liquid Pool Lounge offers dipping pools, cocktails and food. There are eight cabanas, and daybeds lining the main pool.

Both pools are open Thursdays through Sundays from 11 a.m. to close. Reservations are required.

Resevations at Wet Republic are available online at wetrepublic.com or by calling 702-891-3563, and Liquid Pool Lounge reservations can be made at liquidpoollv.com or by calling 702-590-9979.

Assumption is mask would be mandatory for standing in line to go to the pool but once you have your chair and are socially distanced then mask would be optional and not needed in the pool obviously. But some of that could be off.

The line to get to the room elevators at the MGM

Are they checking temps on the way to the rooms?  MGM used to never even check for room keys.

Saw an article online that a few casinos might employ infrared cameras at their entrances to check walk in customers for higher temperatures. Dunno if it is actually being implemented anywhere though.

Wynn had a max of 4 people per elevator so maybe MGM has something similar and it’s slowing the elevators down.

Actually, I just canceled our July 6th SWA Vegas vacation package. Got the Cosmopolitan wraparound suite $$$ canceled & refund coming, but the r/t flights will just be credited to our account - valid until 9/1/2022.

Sucks, because that was a really good package rate - $728 for 3 nights in the nice suite and two r/t nonstop flights from Dallas.

Why?

Covid on the upswing.  Within a month, who knows what things will be like.

I'm going to wait until a few days before the trip to make a decision; wife doesn't want to go if it's not "Vegas".  And your experiences earlier this month aside; I'm hedging that things would be different if you were to go back at the end of July vs what they were on your trip.

Yeah just wondering. I think being there when they first opened was lucky timing for us. We would still go now even with the more stringent mask policies because we were pretty good about mask usage anyways, but I get that the situation could progressively get worse due to COVID.

We are considering another trip in Aug/Sept if things hold up until then. There’s a very limited number of places we can go in a weekend and have fun while feeling somewhat safe, but Wynn earned our trust so far.

Yeah, going the first few days they opened was a genius move on your part.  Just common sense would tell you statistically speaking it had to be the safest/cleanest.  Wish I'd thought of it.  The longer it stays open, the less safe I feel.

Cirque du Soleil, the Las Vegas Strip’s preeminent production company for more than two decades, has filed for bankruptcy.

The company, which has six productions on the Strip, announced Monday morning from its headquarters in Montreal it was seeking a debt restructuring protection under its home country’s Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA).

As expected, the company said in its filing announcement the refinancing move was “in response to immense disruption and forced show closures as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.”
