Alabama fans aren’t voting for tuberville. They’re just not. That race is closer than you think.

@Bama Chick would know better, but my understanding is there are a lot of GOP voters who are also Tide fans and asking them to support Tuberville is like asking us to support Stoops.

I saw somebody (married to a cousin of mine) post on FB that they'd vote for Trump, and vote against Tubberville.  Their cover photo is from a Bama championship game they were at.

It would not shock me at all if Tuberville loses.

Pathetic. This is why you vote against each and every single one of them.

They are literal children. I’m waiting for one of them to bust out “nanny nanny boo boo” at some point.

This is awesome and also pathetic. They are showing they know fuck all about issues and only care about a college football rivalry.

Would you vote for Bob Stoops?

Not in this timeline, but if the coach of my favorite team's rival was an actual smart and good guy with whom's policies I agreed with, probably.  With whom's?

that's an awkward sentence. fuck it.

Speaking of (yes i know, huge outlier but iwantobelieve.gif)

The exit polls after Doug Jones victory showed the under 45s voted for Jones by almost 60/40. Between the young vote, Black vote, and olds dying Alabama, like Georgia, is trending left faster than most people think.

Been laid up all day with a stomach bug and find actual decent news about Doug Jones!

Yes, Bama fans DESPISE Tuberville.

Bama fans wouldn’t piss on him or Philip Fulmer if they were on fire.

Also, Tuberville has refused any sort of debate and that has played poorly.

The NYT piece on Tubby’s shady, likely criminal past, regarding his “investments” got a lot of play too.

Finally, the print media in Birmingham and al.com is fairly liberal for Alabama and they have written reams of anti-Tubby articles and Tuberville has ducked any and all questions from local outlets from Huntsville to Montgomery to Mobile and it’s been noticed.

If, IF, turnout is very high, we could shock the country.

I read the NYT article about Tubby's shitty finances and I couldn't tell if he was in on the scams or just shitty with money.  Thoughts?

It was the Black Belt that carried Jones over the top against Moore. Will do that again.

Also, I think there is a sense of decency at play here. Jones has that. Tubberville does not. Add that to the Trump baggage sane people will vote for a return to normalcy.

Both.

Dude’s a fucking snake.

You don’t accidentally get enmeshed in three separate scammy financial pyramid schemes.

That happens once and maybe you can plead ignorance, but three times?

And take my conservative banker husband for example, he’s leaving his ballot blank for president. I’ve tried to convince him to vote for Biden but he won’t but he agreed to not vote for either.

In Alabama, that’s a win.

But he is voting for Jones.

He thinks Tuberville is just as bad as Roy Moore.

So wait. The guy you married equates a child molester with someone who loves duping people with a Ponzi scheme?

FYI he is voting for trump and Tubbs and will lie and say he didn’t.

Maybe - but more likely he doesn’t even vote. Last time he voted was the 2000 election.

And, yeah, for Bama fans Tuberville is probably seen by most as bad as a child molester. Tuberville covered up a rape by a player, assault on a woman by a player, and lord knows what else.

I’ve seen what UT fans think of Stoops - y’all think he’s any better than a lawyer who hit on 13 year old girls at a mall?

This is a race in which Jones' only chance is to catch them napping.  If Alabama voters think there's a chance Jones could win, then they'll vote for Tuberville because they love Team R more than they hate Auburn (sorry, @Bama Chick, but it's true).  But if they think that they can get away with not voting for Tuberville while still not hurting Team R, then they'll do that.  So from that standpoint, I really hope this poll doesn't get too much play.

Man, it's honestly a lot tougher decision down there than you think.

Yep, there's the strategy for the near-to-mid term for Republican politicians. "Yeah, we blew Trump publicly at every opportunity and voted for literally everything he told us to but we were totally against him in our minds!".

It will work, probably as soon as 2024, maybe even 2022.

Long-term they'll show us pictures of Trump and Hillary from back in the day at parties and tell us Trump was a Democrat and anyone who claims otherwise is fake news.

Greenfield knowing that day’s corn prices would appear to indicate that she keep close track of commodity pricing. Perhaps she doesn’t and there was an aide in the background holding up a whiteboard. Regardless if you’re in the ag business in Iowa, I imagine you frequently look at prices, and you would want your senator to do so as well. And an Iowan senator should task an aide to tell her/him the price daily.

and Ernst saying $5 when it’s $10 for soybeans really shows a huge disconnect. I don’t see how Ernst screwing up that answer does anything except to lose some votes. It sure as hell can’t earn votes.
