So if a player is out of bounds, the ball is in bounds and not going to go out of bounds, and the player intentionally touches it, the kick is considered out of bounds? Stupid rule.

And when a player applies it in a situation such as we saw, it's pretty sharp on the player's part.    Saw Randall Cobb of the Packers do this 3-4 years ago on a muffed kickoff.

Will any 6-6 coach be verbally jerked off more than Patterson this bowl season?

The answer is no. Some early superlatives:

"Patterson has done the best coaching job of his career this season. "

"TCU has played defense since jump street with Patterson. Every other team in the Big 12 doesn't play defense." Very well done. Jerks off Patterson while fitting ESPN's narrative on Big 12 Football. Somebody is working on that year end bonus.

Yeah, that rule is bizarre. Not sure I remember seeing that before.

Same thing as catching a pass with your foot out of bounds

Patterson has always come off as one of the least liked coaches in the coaching fraternity but announcers seem to love him.

Very odd.

Cal was kind of on the cusp of being pretty decent this year, yes?

Not really. They had a okay D though.

They beat USC and Washington State. I'd say that's a heckuva season for Cal.

Wtf are you talking about?  Cal did not beat Wazzu....

Announcers are terrible. Wish they would get unlimited bottles and throw a few coaches in the room to talk about the game for some of these. Don't they do that for Natty? Do it for some non bowl game new coaches or something

He meant the Huskies. Cal whipped the Pac-12 champions 12-10 in Berkeley. If you don't think WIlcox is legit, re-watch that game.
