So looks like I will have a car after all while in SF. Getting in Monday early and then leaving late Wednesday. Have most afternoons free. Other than my initial plan of cellarmaker, zeitgeist, city beer store and toronado anything else I need to drive to? Figured I would Uber or walk since I’ll be in the union square area.

Well since you asked (& as an excuse for me to go back and look through my pictures, especially as these preseason games are kinda boring me)....

Most importantly with a car, make it a point to get over across the bay to Faction in Alameda but make sure it be there at sunset. A very cool brewery housed in an old naval base.

With an amazing view of downtown SF on the other side of the bay:

Also, FYI - Almanac is right there close by as well.

You can also go over to the Drake’s Dealership outdoor/indoor tapyard/taproom in Oakland. Liked the food there too.

Which is also pretty cool at night:

I’d also highly recommend Fieldwork in Berkley (especially during the day as you can drive around and check out the campus)

And I don’t recall exactly how close but I believe pretty close by is Rare Barrel if you love badass sours.

Lead Dog oranges are orange milkshake dipa

Interesting beer, smell and first taste is similar to an alcoholic orange creamsicle but a little more tart.
Enjoyable but not something Id drink often39e439bea459e54aadc0a2bedcedde76.jpga55d2d84ff4aebfbbeb903b3e2cb599b.jpg

I'm in Boise, surprised we got it before DFW. If you go to Lone Star, give WhipIn a call in Flower Mound. Doubt they would get it before Lone Star but you never know.

You have no idea what beer is supposed to taste like, too many years of destroying your taste buds with brutally overhopped bitter bombs. ;)

In other news I picked up a crowler of Peticolas's Raspberry Ale last night.  Looking forward to giving it a try this weekend.

Also, chesthair, don't be a bitch.

Now thats a name I haven't heard in a long time.

Well of course I have.  He's me....

It's not cool to mention you spend any time, or worse yet live, in the CP.

But, I'm a computer engineer and not a cool guy so I have no problem admitting it. Dig Pub is regular for us.

I just didn't know beer bars still existed. I thought they all shut down when the Flying Saucer Yosemite Sam cosplay dork claimed that Texas taprooms were killing the 3rd tier.

I should visit Cedar Park. Is the Brass Tap still open in RR?

Think so.

It's a dirty word around the surl, but the Domain has several beer bars.  There's a Brass Tap there too, along with a Lavaca Street Bar, Jack and Ginger's (Irish pub) and I think a couple others I'm not recalling off the top of my head.

Peanut Butter Temptress hit the shelves today.

Last year I had a glass at their taproom, along with a glass of Bourbon Barrel Temptress..both delicious.  Then I took a third glass and mixed the two to make Bourbon Barrel Peanut Butter Temptress. The sum was even more delicious than its two delicious parts.

I admit I drank a few Zimas in my day and enjoyed them.

My wife likes the hard seltzer stuff, so I've tried most of them by default at this point.  Way better than the alco-pop stuff to me, as it isn't nearly as sweet.  Most of it just tastes like seltzer waters, which I'm pretty well hooked on.

I've come to welcome Natty Light as a tailgate beer.  For one, it's the ISU way.  Two, it's cheap.  Three, I can drink them all day and not be a mess.

This looks like something I would tailgate with

That looks like something I would put in a pillow case and then use to beat the shit out of Tweety and Lofgren.
