If you want the roof on your garage to leak then put the goal bracket up there.

Dude, my warranty expired around 1 or 2 years ago.  You're costing me business.

Srsly, though, the biggest problem isn't how you attach it (best way IMO would be to remove shingles & vapor barrier, remove some decking, reinforce the truss with added 2x6's blocked on & maybe even some running horizontal for the area above & below where the decking was removed then replace the decking. with another 2x6 set dead center in the middle  of your opening  Add 1, maybe even 2 layers of ice & water on the replaced decking & then new vapor barrier & new shingles.

Once you pre-drill your holes for the bolts (probably 2 sizes smaller than the bolts), add some heavy roof cement like Henry 505 (gunnable, 1 tube max) into each hole & then tap your bolts into the brackets.

The problem is the constant vibrations are going to cause the bolt holes to wiggle & eventually, you'll probably have small gaps that will permit water penetration & subsequently, rotted wood.

Get a driveway rig with the weighted base (add sand or water) on wheels; those are easier to adjust for height as the kid grows.  Plus, if you decide to sell... even if you don't have any problems with  it & everything is tight, maybe the buyer will see that roof mounted setup as an eyesore or a liability.

Gagree... get a post, don’t attach to house, especially to the roof

This. Pay the extra and get a post mount, more expensive but the headache of your son becoming Shaq and ripping your roof off it will be cheaper in the long run especially if you want it to be adjustable.

Roof mount is actually much more expensive than a post mount. Main part of our problem is our driveway is sloped.

?

You still N of Wells Branch?

I  recall that being pretty much flat.  Then again, it's been more than a few years, so...
