I’d say even the most tyrannical dictators are taken aback and perhaps even jealous of Trump’s rhetoric.   Not in their wildest dreams do they think the can get away with the shit Trump says without an internal and external backlash.

Trump gets away with it because his brain dead base applauds it and there are no consequences.

No backlash?

Come on.

“Dictator speak”? So much pearl clutching. Yawn.

So many things to dislike about Trump and what he says at these rallies. Calling people like Andrew McCabe “scum” and “dirty cops” isn’t one of them.

Yeah, you don't get it.  Surprise.

Like I say, nothing short of traitors to the country. They worship Trump, institutions and respect for law be damned. Any lie he says is fine.

Define dirty and how it applies to them in a way that justifies the President of the United States calling them out at that level.

Well McCabe lied to investigators repeatedly and was rightfully fired and lost his retirement.

Is anybody here really praising James Comey’s conduct? Those are the two big names of which I’m aware.

As far as other unnamed individuals who’ve left, maybe they were some of the people who helped circulate and release the Steele Dossier which is largely discredited? That seems like a dirty move.

Listen, I’d prefer he not call out people like that, but that’s how he is. Does calling out your enemies make you a dictator?  Nope.

And since when is the fucking FBI or its leadership infallible?

Anyone who can’t see that trump wants to be the dictator of America is either a moron, a troll or wants him to be the dictator. Which category do you happen to fall under?

But it doesn't bother you that Donald Trump and everyone around him lied to investigators repeatedly?

Do you have a problem with people calling out our dirty president?

Frankly, I think he was listening to his followers. He is a reflection of that part of the electorate more than they are a reflection of Trump.

Trump tapped into a message that provided him admiration and support. He merely gave voice to the deplorables. Rush, Atwater, Ailes, Manafort, and Stone cultivated that part of the electorate.

It's reaping time. The crop is rotten by intention.

It's a feedback loop, with each party ratcheting up intensity based on the feedback based on reward/encouragement from the other party.  It's human psychology (and of course, thus not confined to the right -- I remember 20 years ago, reading an article on some of the local "Critical Mass" bicycle protesters riding around on one of their "marches" or whatnot.  Their rhetoric started with the usual tropes about making the roads safer for cyclists...by the end of the ride, folks were chanting about going to the animal shelter to "liberate the animals!"  Feedback loop.)

Trump validates them.  It emboldens them.  They validate Trump.  It emboldens him.  Repeat, as the temperature rises.

Very cool to see the President of the United States of America literally promoting a blood libel. It's ok though, I'm sure history is full of instances of leaders promoting blood libels with no negative consequences to other people.

I agree.  I think they tell people "what they want to hear".  IOW, they're going to say they won't vote for him, so they don't have to out themselves as morons.  However, when the curtain is pulled, they'll vote for Trump b/c....SOCIALISM!!!!!

This is how I see it too. I get that many Rs don't like Trump. They're disgusted by his behavior and they may even say and think today they won't vote for him.  but when it's Biden/Warren/Harris/Bernie/Beto on the ballot representing the Godforsaken Socialists, they will hold their nose and vote Trump.

Biden probably represents the best hope the Dems want to convert or keep the old white seniors from voting Trump.

Horrifying.  And to think this is one Trump policy that is popular on this board.

  Quote

This paper looks at some of the most important impacts of the economic sanctions imposed on Venezuela by the US government since August of 2017. It finds that most of the impact of these sanctions has not been on the government but on the civilian population.

The sanctions reduced the public’s caloric intake, increased disease and mortality (for both adults and infants), and displaced millions of Venezuelans who fled the country as a result of the worsening economic depression and hyperinflation. They exacerbated Venezuela’s economic crisis and made it nearly impossible to stabilize the economy, contributing further to excess deaths. All of these impacts disproportionately harmed the poorest and most vulnerable Venezuelans.

Even more severe and destructive than the broad economic sanctions of August 2017 were the sanctions imposed by executive order on January 28, 2019 and subsequent executive orders this year; and the recognition of a parallel government, which as shown below, created a whole new set of financial and trade sanctions that are even more constricting than the executive orders themselves.

We find that the sanctions have inflicted, and increasingly inflict, very serious harm to human life and health, including an estimated more than 40,000 deaths from 2017–2018; and that these sanctions would fit the definition of collective punishment of the civilian population as described in both the Geneva and Hague international conventions, to which the US is a signatory. They are also illegal under international law and treaties which the US has signed, and would appear to violate US law as well

Such a bitch ass comment. If the President didn't step on his mushroom dick 20 times a day, maybe the news would cover other items. Instead, he is his own worst enemy. Complain about the behavior, not the response to the behavior.

No one forces MSNBC to spend 23 hours a day expounding conspiracy theories and hyperfocusing on Trump's silliness.  If they wished, they could inform their viewers that Trump has killed tens of thousands of Venezuelans and violated the Geneva conventions.  They won't because stuff like that cannot be criticized openly in any meaningful way.
