I've said before and I'll say it again: The Villages is the only place I've ever witnessed a golfcart traffic jam.

You, good sir, have obviously never experienced the glory of the Halliburton drink stand at the SPE Thailand golf tournament.

Having been involved in some pretty debaucherous shenanigans at Houston O&G events, I couldn't even imagine what the morally bankrupt among us get in to at an industry event in Thailand.

You'll note I didn't say "cheese/cheez products" or "louisiana hot sauce."  I'm not gonna cut my nose off to spite my face.

Donald Trump has to be one of the 5 greatest con-men in the history of the world, and that's saying something.

It boggles the mind how he can get all of these big Southern dummies to buy into his shit and treat him as the second coming  Trump is as New York as you can get.  Born and raised.   He's lived in big penthouses in Manhattan all his adult life, and looked down on everybody else.  Especially rednecks from SEC country.  He couldn't give a rat's ass about these hillbillies.  Trump probably couldn't sing any lyrics from Freebird or Sweet Home Alabama.  And yet here they are hootin' and hollerin' and thanking sweet baby Jesus for their lord and savior Donald f'ing Trump.

It's impressive.  It just flat out is.  And it's scary.

they don't have to love him.  or even like him.  they just have to hate the other guys.

hatred and fear.

Say what you will about the tenets of national socialism, but at least it's an ethos.

I’m already jealous of the historians 100 years from now looking back at this period in time.

I think we’re well past “This is how Rome fell” now.   At least our society will be remembered for a hundred generations.

What would you say the most important personalities or organizations have been in promoting Trump? We've discussed several of them here.

Rush - liberals are evil and they want to destroy America

Pastors (local and national) - SCOTUS justices

NRA - have they been as influential as the first two?

who's saying anything misogynistic?  warren is ahead of beto and pete in most polls right now.

and why does this tweet make it look like warren's numbers are the best (bernie and biden have bigger "leads")

I've got a feeling Florida 2020 will be a real nailbiter, but in the end Trump will eek out a win by about 10,000 votes. Not sure why I think that?

Not sure if you’re conflating polls in primaries against polls vs Trump.  They’re two different things.

The main talking point and the reason Biden is leading in the polls is the perception of “electability” against Trump,  as if a better candidate couldn’t beat Trump.

People say they’re turned off by Warren because they don’t know if she’s “electable” or she has “likability” issues.   It’s a disguise for “I don’t think a woman can win” which has a misogyny undertone.

The fact that Warren is ahead of Beto against Trump in Florida blows that perception up a bit.

Here’s where Biden and Sanders stand:

yes, thank you for the assist.

in dem primary and ge polls, warren is holding her own just fine against the men not named biden or bernie, and has been for a while.  to me, the takeaway from this poll is that trump is stuck in the low 40's across america and most any dem can beat him.

the reason "electability" even comes up is because it's pretty much the only "pro" anyone has for biden right now.  it has nothing to do with warren.  in fact, polls that show negatives imply that bernie might have more "electability" issues than warren.

and the misogynistic stuff comes from (older) polls showing that women still somehow have trouble voting for women for high public offices.  there are also polls supporting the perception that the older a man gets, the better their polling numbers (the more people like/trust them), but the opposite holds true for women.

still seemed like an intentionally misleading crop of the poll.
