Remember how shocking it was when Kanye said on camera “Bush hates black people”? Now we have a president that routinely says that a Congresswoman “hates all Jews”, and no one even blinks.

/fake jews

I believe it was, "George Bush doesn't care about black people." Now Kanye's sucking up to a white supremacist son of a Klansman.

So why does he care if KJU gets a nuke or not? It's not the weapon that will kill millions of people it's the one who orders that it be fired. His bestie wouldn't ever do that, so just let him have his bomb.

Well obviously it's for the same reason we allow guns on airplanes.  Those guns can't pull a trigger, only a person can, and since it's illegal to fire a gun on a plane, only a criminal would fire a gun on a plane!   Since criminals by definition don't follow the law, what sense would it make to outlaw firing a gun on a plane anyway??  You libtards just don't think to good.

John Roberts is still Chief Justice, right?

Nothing is guaranteed.

Technically anyone can administer the Oath of Office, so even Roberts is not needed.

If you really want to worry about this, all of the envelopes with the state's votes in them are opened by the President of the Senate, aka Mike Pence.  Pence could just not open the envelopes.  That would be pretty much unconstitutional behavior but it would put a wrench in the process.

Those of you who are confident that he'll lose and just be peacefully replaced...y'all know the Weimar Republic was a democracy with checks and balances and everything right? It's not like we don't have a number of examples of robust democracies backsliding into authoritarian states.

Has there ever been a dictator as incompetent and ignorant as Trump?   Then again, has there ever been an electorate as ignorant as contemporary America?

We get the government we deserve.

Not much of an exodus so far. I think they're all nipples deep in corruption and benefit by delay. The rabid base will still be there. Trump as a threat to sitting GOPs is still there.

I've seen no sign of scruple from the GOP or the 40% that support the GOP.

If Trump raises doubts about the election, he'll have FOX and the Senate saying, "maybe we should look into this..."

And we'll all wait for the next opportunity for these criminals to stop being criminals on their own.

I predict that when the dust settles from that you will have a splintering of the Republicans into two groups.

I understand what you're saying, but I don't think you can compare the period between Kaiser Wilhelm's abdication in 1919 and the election of Hitler to the democracy of the United States.

Mussolini’s story in Italy is more in line with Trump’s America

I don't know.  I tend to think the dramatically changed political landscape in aftermath of WWI contributed more to the rise of both Hitler and Mussolini.

I realize many of his voters are going to indoctrinate their children, but good news is that some of them can't articulate very well.  And with all due respect to the Electoral College, we're talking about what should hopefully be beaten down to about 60 million in 2020 out of 330 million.  That's not even 20%.  So yes, you can take into account children.  But tens and tens of millions of non-voters.  It puts Trump way down there.  Let's celebrate than maybe a third of people out and about are his literal voters.

Semites and semitism are not a religion, either, they are a linguistic group comprised of people of many different religions.

Wouldn't you love to hear a reporter ask Trump "Mr. President, you've accused others of being antisemitic.   Can you tell us who the Semites are?

So since, by definition, Tlaib is a Semite, I guess Trump's Tweets about her are anti-Semitic

That's who the GOP is these days.  They'll betray this country all day long, but they DEMAND loyalty to....a foreign country.  Who we send billions of dollars to.

Yeah, when you write it down, it's as nutso as it sounds.

True and I’d argue Mussolini’s persona was more in line with Trump’s.  “I alone can fix it” “democracy sucks” “Make Italy Great Again”.  The Italian elites thought Mussolini was a buffoon too.

There are some parallels with the aftermath of WW1 and the grievances/strife regarding the current globalization of the economy.  At least on the political narratives level.

Uh oh. Trump at 44 percent in latest Rasmussen poll. That’s more like 37 percent in reality.

His numbers are shrinking fairly steadily lately. Gotta be the economy. None of the rest of this stuff he's done lately even moves the needle compared to everything else he's done.

It's the only thing propping him up at this point. If we go into recession he's going to hit like 30-35% and it's going to be a landslide election.

Yes, but Mussolini, like Hitler, actually believed in what he was doing.  Trump is just a grifter.

He'll leave peacefully, or be carried out be the military.  I don't get the sense that he's well liked among the Generals.

I trust you'll remember quite accurately Mussolini's explicitly Keynesian Economic policies during your tearful crawl down the shower wall tonight?  Facism as a governing style may be something entirely to one side in your mind, and perhaps rightfully so.  But you mentioned "grifting".  To me, that means finance/money/fiscal/monetary/currency/taxation/spending/etc.   You may not truly appreciate this but Benito and you very much swung from the same part of the plate when it comes to "Economics"

I seriously doubt Hugo is using the word "grifter" in the ideological context that you seem to be implying but rather instead is describing one who obtains money/power in an illicit manner (i.e., con man, swindler, cheater, scammer).

So when Mussolini was making his pitch to the business leaders that he would give them protection from the socialists in exchange for financial and political support, that wasn’t grifting?

Seems like a grey area in the art of the grift.

He was a Grifter, you are absolutely correct.  And he was Keynesian Grifter.  The very best kind, they rob from everyone.  Everything he did served the State, and everything the State did served him.  Murders and arrests make you a Despot.  Stealing and Spending...that makes you a Planner.

Isn't the reason Republicans jumped on Ilhan Omar for being anti-semitic in the first place is because she said some in congress have dual-loyalty to Israel and the U.S.? I remember all of the Fox talking heads waxing poetic on how the suggestion of dual loyalty is super duper anti-semitic.

Trump just came out and flatly demanded duel loyalty of American jews to the State of Israel. I am sure Hannity will blast him for it tongiht.

Biden credit claiming off Obama accuses opponent of credit claiming off Obama.
Good shit Joe.

Not really. Obama’s administration included Biden. Trump was an outsider crying about birth certificates and suing a comedian while embracing the Alex Jones idiots.

Left wing purity tests continue....

Biden’s is credit claiming off the Obama presidency.   It’s pretty much half his campaign strategy.  He can do that and get away with it because he was in the Administration.

Trump is credit claiming off the successful economy he was handed from the Obama presidency.  He can do that and get away with it because he is the president.

My statement was not inaccurate.
