She's not going to rile up the Trumptards like DOTARD. A significant part of his base will fade back into the woodwork trailer park after DOTARD is gone.

Trump definitely has something with respect to that ability.  She could still hire someone to play the part of carnival barker.  There will always be someone willing to play that role.

She's trying to play both sides.  Stay on dotard's good side and also make a case for herself as a "rational" R.

It gives her a clear path to the 2024 nomination and being the first female president

shes much more electable than pence and will bring back suburban moms

She's only 47, she's definitely got her eyes on 2024 (or 2028 depending on how things play out).

Suburban moms are not just turning against the criminal enterprise formerly known as the Republican Party because of captain dipshit.

Guns, healthcare and the republican tax scam are doing that job. Women are smart enough to know that one of the reasons Cayden is carrying a bulletproof backpack to school is due to the GOP being beholden to the NRA and it’s ridiculous positions, and that republicans would take away healthcare from everyone but the rich if they could.

Yep, toss in that many women take care of the checkbook and have their finger on the pulse of how things are going financially.

And these little things serve to remind them of Republicans not giving a shit about their concerns.

Schools in the Round Rock Independent School District will receive thousands of new medical kits Friday to help faculty and staff better respond to trauma in the classroom.

New “Stop the Bleed” kits will be distributed to over 5,000 classrooms in the district. Additionally, numerous RRISD staff members have participated in “Stop the Bleed” training. The district is set to begin an initiative to have all teachers take the training.

They aren't doing that because little Johnny might get a splinter in his finger, and suburban moms know it.

This might leave a pretty good mark.

You know, Trump might try to fight this one out though, because it would distract from the public hearings starting this week.  Then again, Trump is notorious for getting pissed off and getting rid of people who force him to have to defend them.  He's only loyal so long as he thinks they help him/make him look good.

Here's the problem -- while a big chunk of American sees shameless, racist white nationalism as a BAD thing.....a huge hunk of emboldened Americans actually see it as a POSITIVE.  They LIKE what Miller espouses.  They support it, they want it to continue.

We have a white nationalist government and administration....because the supporters of that admin and the GOP WANT IT THAT WAY.  And they make no apologies about it.  This is where we are.  And there's no going back.

The President of the United States is a piece of shit.

He's what poor people think rich people act like, what guilty people think innocent people act like, what weak people think tough people act like.

The fact is, if he was innocent and tough, the moment that the House announced the impeachment stuff, Trump would have said

spacer.png

He would have made available any and all documents requested.  He would have then told everybody around him, and those who had worked for him, to clear their calendars and get in line to go up on the Hill to testify.  Trump would have been first in line, and he would have made sure the cameras were following him every step of the way.

He would have hired a cracker jack team of lawyers, and he would have wrecked shop in the Senate.  The GOP would clean the fuck up in next year's elections after Trump and Co. actually proved it was a witch hunt.

But nope, he's a whiny little pissant hiding behind twitter and the courts, and doing everything he can to keep everybody around him from testifying.  And he takes advice from a cousin-fucker.

Miller also used a personal Hotmail.com address in the emails

This is also 100% spot on. Pence is every bit as guilty as trump. If impeached, Trump needs Someone to write blanket pardons for him and Ivanka

If anyone is giving ivanka a blanket pardon it will be donald himself

I don't know if I see Haley accepting a VP role. First, you need Pence to agree to resign or step away from the 2020 ticket. While not his call on the 2020 ticket, but Trump would need Pence to walk away graciously. Spend more time with family type of statement/interview.

Second, Haley is tough and I don't see her willing to take a public role to spew the POTUS' crap every day.

2024 does seem like an opportune time for her to run for President, so she needs to get back into the game at some level. Unfortunately Trump doesn't like anyone standing alongside him that comes across as anything but as a sycophant.  that's not Nikki.

Not sure if you've been following her book tour, but her adulation of Trump these last few days is making Lindsey Graham jealous.

She's stumping a book and positioning herself to run as his heir in 2024.

I dont know why she would cozy up to Trump now. If you want to run in 2024, you see where the cards fall with Trump. Her doing this now suggests it's about 2020. Pence adds nothing for Trump.

I think Mondale helped Carter markedly in 1976.  But yes, it’s largely a misconception about geography when whatever small relevance it still has is all ideological and donor based.  It’s also rarely someone from the primary pool, so not sure where all the Beto supporters kept getting that from.

This.  The most motivated portion of young conservatives right now seems to be white nationalist.  Even if they aren't that great in numbers, they're currently the most vocal and avid activists.  Trump is and has been aware of them.  The rest of the GOP is catching on and the members who aren't at least know enough to fear them.  That's why Trump had to pretend he didn't know who David Duke was instead of denounce him -- also, "good people on both sides."

Small face on large head and TPUSA leader, Charlie Kirk, can no longer hold Q&A's after their events because this faction shows up to shout them down as "puppets for Israel."  Dan Crenshaw is running into the same people every time he tries to speak publicly and he doesn't know how to handle it, aside from reminding them that he was in the military and lost his eye.  They don't care.

Charlie Kirk recently tried cloaking himself next to Don Jr. and Kimberly Frogface and that still wasn't enough to save himself from these guys hijacking his event and chanting them off the stage.  It's a mixture of predominantly white nationalism, isolationists, white supremacists and conservatives who hate any support or coalition with conservative Israelis.  The latter once recognized John McCain and evangelical dominionists as the center subjects of their ire, hence Trump's constant prodding of McCain even after his death.  They are now directing their rancor toward guys like Ben Shapiro, Charlie Kirk, Crenshaw, etc.  The current establishment of evangelical, pro-Israel members of the GOP do not know how to process getting shouted down by young people in MAGA hats for their suddenly unpopular support of Israel.  I'm sure Bolton slammed his face into this dynamic the moment he arrived and knew from the beginning that he, of all people, had no place trying to straddle this growing line in the Republican Party.

@Bama Chick should enjoy this.

‘Baby Trump stabber’ GoFundMe contributors to be refunded

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (WIAT) – A GoFundMe that had been set up to help with the legal fees of a Tuscaloosa man who destroyed a caricature of President Donald Trump over the weekend has apparently been flagged.

In a message posted on the GoFundMe page “Restitutions [sic] for Baby Trump Stabber” Monday, organizers released the following statement:

“We have been reported by the sympathizers. Apparently we didn’t read the fine print. Gofundme is not going to allow these generous donations to help Hoyt. They will soon likely refund all your support. Apologize for the inconvenience folks. Thanks for the kind words, prayer, and financial support. Reach out to Hoyt on Facebook we love hearing from fellow patriots #Trump2020.”

As of Monday afternoon, the GoFundMe had reached nearly $40,000.

Hutchinson, 32, was arrested Saturday afternoon after he was observed by officer cutting into a 20-foot inflatable image of Trump called “Baby Trump,” depicting the president as a baby. An online campaign had raised over $6,000 to bring the inflatable to Tuscaloosa for Trump’s arrival in town for the Alabama-LSU game.

GoFundMe campaigns to raise money for legal costs is a tricky subject. In 2015, the site announced it would no longer support legal defense funds on its platform, stating it “will not allow campaigns that benefit individuals or groups facing formal charges or claims of serious violations of the law.” However, the site has allowed for other types of legal defense fundraising in different capacities since then, such as the Time’s Up legal fund.

Currently, GoFundMe has a clause that does not allow any campaign it deems to be “for the legal defense of alleged crimes associated with hate, violence, harassment, bullying, discrimination, terrorism, or intolerance of any kind relating to race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, sex, gender or gender identity, serious disabilities or diseases, or financial crimes or crimes of deception,” according to its terms of service.

Hutchinson is currently charged with first-degree criminal mischief, which is a Class C felony.

He'll just post his Venmo on Facebook and make all that $40k and more.  Because our country is a perfect Venn diagram intersection of stupid/gullible, hateful/violent, and grift these days.

Neither does Nikki Haley. The VP hasn't brought a vote to the ticket since 1960.

Disagree- it’s very likely that Pence was the difference in that his embrace of Trump legitimized his candidacy for a lot of fundamentalist evangelical conservatives in key states who may have either stayed home or been peeled by McMullin.

Plus, he utterly dismantled Tim Kaine.

In an election decided by ~100k people in 3 states, Pence was crucial, even though Clinton lost more than Trump won.

She's playing a dicey game right now - on the one hand, you never know, Trump may think she can help him get re-elected.  She may think she can parlay that into winning the big prize in 2024.

On the other, if Trump goes down hard as expected, and the GOP takes a serious hit across-the-board next year, anybody associated with/enabling him could be seen as toxic/tainted.  She might end up pulling a Mondale.

She's still young enough to wait things out though.

Big surprise.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/senior-trump-official-embellished-resume-had-face-fake-time-cover-n1080356

Quote

A senior Trump administration official has embellished her résumé with misleading claims about her professional background — even creating a fake Time magazine cover with her face on it — raising questions about her qualifications to hold a top position at the State Department.

An NBC News investigation found that Mina Chang, the deputy assistant secretary in the State Department's Bureau of Conflict and Stability Operations, has inflated her educational achievements — like claiming, falsely, to be a Harvard grad — and exaggerated the scope of her nonprofit's work.

Whatever her qualifications, Chang had a key connection in the Trump administration. Brian Bulatao, a top figure in the State Department and longtime friend of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, attended a fundraiser for her nonprofit in Dallas and once donated $5,500 to her charity, according to a former colleague of Chang's.

Chang, who assumed her post in April, also invented a role on a U.N. panel, claimed she had addressed both the Democratic and Republican national conventions, and implied she had testified before Congress.

She was being considered for an even bigger government job, one with a budget of more than $1 billion, until Congress started asking questions about her résumé.

The gap between Chang's actual qualifications and her claims appears to be the latest example of lax vetting by the Trump administration, which has become known for its many job vacancies and appointments made without thorough screening.

"It does seem that this administration has not been doing the same depth of vetting as previous administrations," said James Pfiffner, a George Mason University professor and expert on the executive branch who once worked in the government's Office of Personnel Management, which does vetting.

Well, yeah exactly. It seems like her best  case scenario is helping Donald win in 2020, and then after 8 years of Donald, getting absolutely blown the fuck out of the water in 2024.
