Well, that's not quite true.  I didn't think much of Rex Tillerson but he definitely saw through and pushed back on Trump's bullshit.  Kelly & Mattis, to a lesser degree, did so as well.  And of course Pence.  (Wait.)

Sure, they pushed back and they're gone.  But they were never going to 25th the Dotard.  The window for that has passed.

Now that only grifters are allowed and all serious people have been asked to leave the room, this last slide into 2020 (and if he wins, on out) will be one for the history books.

How Stephen Miller has so much influence on this administration is the real mystery.

He's the one person in the administration who Trump never has to worry about offending because he's an even bigger of shit.

Well, when you are a racist yes man, you are favored by the President. Not really a mystery.

Can you imagine being a normal, decent person who is saddled with these looks?  It's as if he came out of the womb and the doc said "yep, serial killer".

which in turn gives him a ridiculous amount of power in the country and the world.

on a side note, is there anyone that has left the Trump administration and done better for themselves? I'm sure some have pulled some big time salaries (& others haven't) but Hope Hicks is the only person that seemingly bettered herself professionally by being associated with Trump.

Pruitt’s whole time up there was the saddest of debased bootlicking. Given what Trump likes to see, I t’s sort of amazing that he had to resign.

Pruitt seemed like a decade ago. Honestly. Hadn’t thought of his name in all of 2019.

The part I like is how Nielsen -- shallow and stupid of a bitch as she may be -- KNOWS that she is, and forever will be, unwelcome in decent society.  She can only live in safe-spaces of other hateful xenophobes. I'm sure she'll get her ego stroked at CPAC or some other masturbatory hate-fest, but that's it.

Otherwise, if she's recognized in public, most folks who recognize her will do so with scorn, contempt, and loathing.  People will not be -- and should not be -- afraid to walk right up to her and tell her what a horrifically loathsome creature she is.  And the history books will be most unkind.  Pretty cool -- she's guaranteed that her name will go down among the more shittacular people in American history.

She had a choice.  When asked to serve in the Administration of Shittiness, she could and should have said "no."  She didn't.  And by that failure, condemned her name to being spoken with spit and bile for the rest of history.   Good.  Fuck her.

Hmmm...I wonder what attribute she possesses that might have helped her in that regard.

Reasons.

Yeah, that's not gonna work.  She held the position for 16 months, and was a shitbag from day one.

Even worse, she lied about it to Congress and the public, in order to keep it in place in the face of public outrage.   There will be a lot of Trump officials someday claiming "I stayed because I was able to prevent him from doing shittier things," but she's in the group for which it will ring the most hollow.

It will ring hollow if they all wait until he's out of office. If she went on TV tonight and gave her side of the story, I would give her some credit for being upfront. The problem with that path is that she would then be hated by everyone. Trump would explode on her via Twitter and the Left wouldn't forgive her.

Like Chad said upthread, there are too many sycophants in the cabinet for the 25th to be invoked, but if people were talking about it, then a normal cabinet might well have carried it out. The tell-all books will be amazing if our country survives his orangeness. We're screwed.

Nope. Barr and Trump both know what the bad parts are, and they'll find an excuse to redact those. Grand jury, innocent 3rd party, sources/methods/confidential, etc. Plenty of lies available to the Trump Syndicate.

imagine being these evil motherfuckers but still thinking you've gone soft.

Man the president sure is one evil sack of dogshit isn’t he?

Psychological torture of young children is a card on the table that isn’t being played nearly enough in his rotten evil immoral mind.

Maybe I’m understating it but hey, it is what it is.

My car radio was still on 590 AM from the weekend and I was treated to Rush Limbaugh waxing poetic on the alleged lunacy of kids in cages.  They're detention centers!  They get food, a safe place to sleep, and an education!  It's established law and the libs are liars!

Well, Rush . . . that established law wasn't enforced by Obama, or even W, so suck a fat one you fucking drug-addled piece of shit.

Doesn't take long in that article to reach Stephen Miller's name.  The first major catastrophe is going to be straight owned by this admin with their purges.  Sure they can blame but it's all theirs.

Being new to following politics this closely has there ever been so much turnover in another administration especially one only half way through its first term?

Nothing like this in the history of the United States.  The national security adviser being a compromised foreign agent was a first and the firsts just keep on coming.

they're not releasing this thing voluntarily.  must be bad.

They're going with this and the weird contention that releasing the report could be used to create an obstruction case against Trump.

After spending a couple of years behind the stone wall with GOP senators manning the goon towers to be sure the Dems (or the public) see as little as possible, now the problem is that the Dems are glutted with information and still not satisfied.

Most of the great American electorate supports this, is confused, or bored. What a country!

He requires 'yes men'. That is the only qualification he requires. It is extremely dangerous for our Republic and our allies.

It’s all about centralizing and concentrating power.  He’s under siege by the House and he needs to get his bunker in order.

With all this doubling and tripling down of Trump RE: immigration,  I do wonder if he believes this is his one shot to fully implement an immigration policy as he (and Miller) see fit.  If they wait too much longer they can't do it prior to a campaign, and if they don't do it now, there's a chance their vision of immigration reform would never get implemented (post 2020).

Either way, nothing would surprise me at all at this point if some memo or a senior WH aide leaks that they are considering the genocide of migrants as a deterrent.

Trump fired SS Director because of this./tinfoilhat

Is she hot?

Funny, she got in by saying she was there to meet the member that sells access to Trump to Chinese nationals.  Probably not the first unknown Chinese person who got past security.

Any other President would have been fucked just by having Charles Lee there selling access in the first place. It would never even get to the point where Chinese spies were using Lee's deals to sneak in.  And really, I don't even blame Lee for doing what he does given that it's possible and it works. The blame falls solely on Trump and his willingness to be bought.

By all means, let's just treat the symptom and not the disease though.

The thing about this recent bust is it was so obvious.  Almost like they intended for her to get caught and embarrass Trump.  The Chinese are not blundering imbeciles when it comes to espionage.

I assumed it was because his SS director wouldn't/couldn't do the things that the infamous other SS did.

Why not both?

Playing Alex Jones for a minute (shudder), what if Trump asked for lighter SS coverage at Mar a Lago exactly so he could more easily sell access to him? According to this, the SS is driven by the President/VP and Secretary of Homeland Security (oh, hi/bye Kirstjen Nielsen).

Total tin hat shit, but the problem is, who knows with this administration?

While possible, that would really suck for her.  Even decoy spies meant to embarrass a US President still go to federal pound me in the ass tongue my box prison.
