After we go into a recession who will be the Trumpers left outside of the racists?

All of them will still be Trumpers. Donald and the GOP will blame everything on the libruls and the base is too stupid to think for themselves.

Imagine $32 million worth of something gross with Bill O'Reilly.  I'm not a lawyer, but I can speculate that this was something really, really gross.

Totally fair.

"Your children are in a low-performing school.  The solution is, we are going to close the school, and bus your kids to a better school.  Of course, your kids will now spend a lot of time on the bus, which means less time for homework, and it will be harder for you to go to that school and meet with the teachers, but this is totally going to solve the problem of you being a single parent, or having to work two jobs and being too tired or not having the time to help your kid, or your language barrier.  Trust us, it'll work!"

Why the Dems need a transformative candidate. The Republicans ran this same playbook against Obama but it never worked because he transcended the rhetoric.

Trump has an average 14% disapproval rating in the top 10 states in terms of population, including Texas. Among the top 10, he does not have a favorable approval rating with any of them. They also account for 54% of the population. If those ratios translate even roughly to the voting populace, this could be a drubbing.

This pos is going to nuke the economy Obama left for him in the next 12-18 months. Then the Republicans will spend the next two years blaming the Dems and probably win back the House in 2022 b/c this country is stuck on stupid right now.

Yep. Kinda like how Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac CAUSED the recession and how the tea party stemmed from unnecessary government bailouts, which then tilted the balance to less govt regulations.

You aren't married or don't know many women, do you?

Plenty of those small farms live and die by how well the farmwives are able to manage the finances.   Unlike their idiot husbands, if Trump makes them suffer, they will return the favor at the voting booth.

they are dealing with bubble within a bubble.  they have their right wing husbands telling them all the time about the crazy libruls.  and couples like to think they are a united team.  counting on split households is a big time folly.

I tend to agree.  I grew up in the rural midwest -- most people I still connect with are conservative, and most of them still support Trump.

I grew up in an era when our parents never told anyone who they voted for, even their spouse.  Now, it's a talking point in virtually any situation.  There are no secrets.  I highly doubt many God-fearing rural wives are going to vote against their husbands.  Some might do so and then lie about it, but that's probably as far as it goes, and it's a small minority.

On the other hand that is 3 more years of the olds in the GOP dying off.

While their right-wing husbands are living in a fantasy land constructed by Hannity and Tucker, they are living in the world of "if we don't make this payment, we lose this, and I have to cut back on the kids clothes and activities so that we can keep the lights on, and that trip to my mom's that we've talked about for years has to be put off again", etc.

And it's not just the wives, there'll be more than a few farmers who will get shocked back to reality when the bank account gets a lot leaner.  Government bailouts for those folks aren't nearly as cushy as the corporate bailouts.

The patriot farmers are sticking by him. There doesn't appear to be a breaking point for the 40%.

Thats why I may start my MAGA Realty company.  We buy foreclosed farms for pennies on the dollar, but we include season tickets to all of Trump’s (free) rallies, plus a MAGA cap!  I will then turn the farm into a bird killing wind farm just to piss off the libs!

You can double your profits by opening Windmill Cancer Preventative Chemotherapy Centers where you have lily white nurses administer saline to the rubes.

Is it? That response trades in a very tight band across all segments, which tells me that across all bands it’s probably a combination of people who

1) Don’t want to ejaculate

2) Genuinely have no opinion

3) Don’t understand what the question means

For the record, I think that’s an extremely poorly framed question and I’m not sure I know what it means, either.

I have no ethics any longer. To further your plan, Horn Dog, just take two weeks vacation, rent a nice car, and go drive out to corn or soybean country. Purposely get lost and stop in at the cafe where all the trucks are in the morning. Get a little gabby with the locals when they ask where you are headed. Explain you're on your way to look at some land further out on behalf of a client on account of so much land coming up for sale due to GOP policies, that you need to hurry because your client missed out on a great deal last week...get out of town quickly. Rinse lather repeat.

It's not a nice thing to prey on people's fears and insecurities like the GOP does, but every once in awhile, I get the urge to play the way they do.

Exactly, plus they are watching FOX much of the day. Everything that is happening to them is the Democrats fault and will be much worse if they vote for the Dem. Don't want any socialism creeping up, except the socialism they already benefit from.

Posted

We'll have to agree to disagree, because plenty of them are not happy when their standard of living changes for the worse, all the while DOTUS is screaming about how he's the one holding the Chinese down.

Burt lives smack dab in the middle of the people you are talking about and interacts with them every single day. FOX has been lying to them all day, every day for decades and they have bought it hook, line and sinker. You'll know they are changing their minds when FOX's ratings start to plummet. As of the end of July, FOX was the most watched cable news channel for the 211th consecutive month. FOX was the most watched channel on all of cable TV for the 37th consecutive month. Far from deserting FOX, Trump has made them watch FOX more, which is why FOX will not change. The lies will continue and they will get worse.

FOX aside, these are proud people that are very averse to admitting mistakes. They are remarkably consistent in that, regardless of reality.
