If Trump dies from a heart attack (or whatever is going on with him) is that part of God’s will?

If he were to pass away while in office, he will live forever in the eyes of the faithful, like Elvis or Dale Earnhardt.

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if a movement were started to have his fat ass preserved and stuck on display forever like Lenin.

Can't we just encase him in carbonite now?

The flags that fly at the "______ cannot replace us rallies" are going to be the Confederate and the Russian is my best guess. Somehow, in the twisted mind of those two fellows of internet meme fame, it is better that white Russians are better than Democratic candidates of any color and that a democracy that ensures that all who vote have legitimate needs and desires is treasonous.

Sorry but I barely passed Troy Kimmel's "Weather & Climate" class at UT back in the day.  That's why I rely so heavily on PhDhorn.  Army Futures Command is "trying" to set something up with him as his other official visit but considering he'll probably call all of them traitors next week, they don't appear to be in a real fucking hurry.

It's fine to rely on PhD for weather, but his partisan and unscientific take on climate is dogshit.

If they propose to stuff him, fill him with helium, and float him around in parades in a diaper then I will contribute to that effort.

This is totally irresponsible and stupid, and is quite frankly the kind of nonsense I would expect from the Rs and Fox News.

On the contrary, I can absolutely fap to that.

We are truly lucky that he isn't smarter.  He is a textbook fascist, and his base desires fascism, but he doesn't have the brains or charisma to pull it off.

But the next guy his 40% chooses may be more capable so we will never be out of the woods.  There is certainly someone out there who could capitalize on his 40% and choose their words carefully enough to sweet talk another 20% into a fascist right wing dystopia.

The truly scary thing is that 40% of Americans openly desire fascism.

A big portion desires fascism by another's hand--theirs is too old and withered.  It's enough to lug their large asses into an SUV, Humvee or rascal scooter and get to the polls.  And then there's those that pretend they're all pro military who deferred or never served but disparage those that do, like DOTARD,  his offspring or other Republicans currently questioning Vindman's service.  Plus DOTARD is likely to stiff his bodyguards.  But yeah, Mitch and Graham got your back.

No doubt that old white Americans desire fascism more than anyone else.  Still, they came close to getting it.  They just didn't have a horse that could cross the finish line. Trump's failure isn't in shoring old white people up.  He already had them shored up.  He already had the white nationalists shored up too.  His failure is in not garnering additional support.  When you look at history, even recent history like Chavez in Venezuela, fascists actively reach out to expand their base in order to seize total control.  They have infectious charisma, and are openly willing to add that one more group that will put them over the line.  Trump, instead, contracted his base to its core.  Successful fascists also kowtow to the military because they need them for the final step.  The crazy thing is that the pre-Trump GOP actually built a "revered military" apparatus that any other fascist in history would have used to their advantage.  (In spite of Dems always caring more about veteran's welfare).  Instead Trump made nearly all of the military brass and much of the rank and file hate him as much as the rest of us do.

Still, the Senate (House of Lords) is a clusterfuck that we might not ever overcome.  Economically, the have states keep moving ahead and the have-not states keep falling behind.  This is in spite of the fact that the have-not states have disproportionate voting power and managed to elect a super rich guy from a have state as the President who claims to have their best interests at heart.  If the have-not states woke up, they'd want a socialist that could actually do something for them economically.  Instead, they just hate brown people who they don't even really see in their states anyway.  Eventually, Conagra will own their entire state and then maybe they'll start realizing that the problem isn't immigrants who are willing to do hard work.

The President (as of 6:00 CST) still has a visit to Austin on his public calendar today.

He will have his helicopter talk around 9:30 this morning prior to flying out.

2 ish-Flextronics Intl./Apple Manufacturing

He then departs for the return to Washington.

Not a great amount of time to watch tv and tweet in the morning, but I expect some tariff/trade/China references as well as his take on today's testimony post visit.

It is not just old whites. Look at whom was elected in Brazil. Fascism is attractive to fear based decision-makers.

It's definitely a concern that the GOP and specifically, Trump have assailed the media (with the exception of Fox) to the point that a significant amount of people no longer believe investigative reporting in the face of overwhelming truths. That lays some groundwork for the next Jacobim Mugatu who as @FondrenRoad pointed out will be charismatic, smart and polished. Oh, and don't leave out: evil.

In an unstable world / one in flux, fascism thrives. Simple answers to complex problems and paternalism works in the face of the said instability

So I just got back from phase 2 of my yearly physical and apparently my cholesterol is a little high. Doctor told me to come back next month so we can check out my blood pressure.  Didn’t have time to get to that today.

A doctor gave Trump six months to live. Trump says he couldn't pay his bill, so the doctor gave him another six months.

That reminds me, I haven't seen any of his hilarious Trump-drinking-Hillary-tears memes lately. I wonder why that is? At least Zork, Fozz, et al have the sack to show up occasionally.

So trump's own people are flipping on him faster than Henry Hill and Sammy the Bull combined. What does this mean for the next year? Does he feel the walls closing in so much that he concedes in his own mind he will not be re-elected and just goes nutty damaging as much shit as he can? Will the republicans let him do it or will the stench get so bad they actually vote to hold their impeachment vote anonymously and vote him out? Will he remain but be so politically neutered that he can't do much of anything and no one will listen to any orders he gives?

This will be a fascinating and yet terrifying year.

Haven't really thought about this before, but is it just me or is Nikki Haley pretty hot?  Wonder what she looked like back in the 90s.

If she can make a mean curry and keep the fridge full of Kingfishers, I'd tap that.

This entire Ukraine episode shows the complete failure of the Trump foreign policy. We have 1000s of hard-working people that are working to further interests across the world, but Trump could care less. I seriously doubt that he even has a clue about any of our foreign policy goals.

It is within the President's powers to change goals whenever. However if you can't adequately communicate your goals and follow a coherent process, then the actual chance of hitting any goal (good or bad) is low. My guess is that the Trump organization ran in a similar fashion but it was fewer projects and people involved so they could limit the damage that Trump causes. It's also possible that he was more effective in his younger days.
