Oh he'll show up. His narissistic personality disorder will not allow him to sit it out. Narcissists cannot handle not being the center of attention, especially so in Dotard's case if it winds up being Warren.

He won't show up if he thinks there's a chance he'll get punched in the nose. He's a coward. He'll show up for Warren. He won't show up for Biden.

Why would he skip them? It apparently doesn’t matter what he says.

(Dem nominee spends two minutes shedding him to pieces)
Trump: “oh yeah well you’re a stupid idiot face.”
CNN: “Did Trump win the debate by calling the dem nominee a stupid idiot face?”

I disagree. I think Warren would whip his ass. Literally and figuratively.

I think he'll just shout "Pocahontas! Pocahontas! Pocahontas!" and "Socialist! Socialist! Socialist!" and that's all anyone will hear. I don't think she's the nerd who can stand up to the bully on the playground.

I guess some of that will depend upon if she remembers enough teaching skills to neutralize the bully. Even though the basic Trump supporter channels his hate, she could come across as a lot more sympathetic if he starts frothing at the mouth.

After yesterday's record breaking Tweetstorm, today will be set for another as the House Committee resumes debate.

Trump will be hosting the President of Paraguay at 11:00, so if Nadler can delay things a little until oh, around 10:55, the remarks could be off the charts. EXCEPT it is closed press. Never one to have much in the way of access, the WH has gotten more and more shut off. Disturbing.

This evening, the President and First Lady will be hosting another Christmas reception.

Hugo, if someone wrote a book about your contributions to this board circa 2016-2019, this would be the cover. Congrats on finding a topic where I'm going against the current and getting some cheap rep for yourself. Perhaps it will quell your desperate need for acceptance for a few days.

Of her own doing?  Getting in a beef when someone steps out and publicly criticizes you for no reason doesn't make you political, it makes you human.  She may or may not be political, but this latest altercation certainly doesn't prove it.

I don't recall saying it was of her doing. But her speeches were absolutely meant to create political waves. She went in front of the UN and chastised and shamed them. Which would be great if it were not a 16 year old autistic person thrust into that role and everything it brings. But you couldn't look at me with a straight face and claim she is apolitical. Because that would be stupid, and you don't seem stupid.

Democrats should televise a two hour tv event where they systematically go thru Trump’s twitter feed and point out the thousands of lies he’s tweeted. Along the way, they should highlight and discuss all of his bizarre comments like “stable genius”.

Some of your earlier points I agree with. However, I will say that sometimes with a spectrum disorder such as this an overarching focus on a particular subject is present. A parent can help use this focus to improve behaviors/awareness of surroundings/others as a child grows. As I stated previously, I have not paid close attention to Miss Thunberg's complete bio so I am obviously speculating. Temple Grandin went on to do great things but she grew up in a different time. Perhaps Miss Thunberg will do likewise. How much of this is adult-driven and how much is Greta's I do not know. I do know that I find it unacceptable for adults to bully a teen in this way. As many have observed, criticize the message but leave the messenger alone.

^ Ah, ok. Didn't expand the text since I had read it already.

Paraguay's President set to appear in three hours. Tweet rate is going to be what? One every ten minutes? He or his minder had to retweet a lot to bury the Thunberg tweet since it was getting blowback.

This is from last night's Ball. He never looks at his wife while he is speaking about her. Sad.

Say you awake at 6am as president, and at 1pm it’s 100 tweets, roughly 14 per hour or every 4.5 minutes.  A bunch of those are retweets that don’t take too long to press the button but he still has to scroll through the app/site to find them.  That’s just insane to me.

Unless he has a tweeter in chief, he’s just on his phone all the time.  No wonder his calendar is empty.  Can you imagine trying to brief someone who sends a tweet out every 5 minutes?

One of my key skills is executive slides and presentations.  I tell people all the time that you don’t want them reading your slides, you want to prepare throughly so the visuals enhance what you’re saying so the key target is listening/looking at you.  In addition, the moment they pull out their phone you’ve lost control of the narrative.  Trying to get any information to this man must be like this:

If anything in this world, Trump does to play the victim.  He won't do these because they're "unfair."  The new talking points from the Republicans will be how the Debate Commission is biased.  They'll also start seriously mentioning the third term thing.  Both will become normalized and the Fox News viewers will buy right in.

Have you seen the rest of trumps kids? There's a 100% chance barron is a piece of shit.  Fuck him,  fuck his family and who fucking cares what anyone says about him.  You're goddamn right I would go back in time and kill baby Hitler.

Why not just kidnap him instead? Hitler didn’t rise to power because his beliefs were unpopular and he didn’t invent mass murder/pogroms.

Imagine if Nixon's cronies had committed another burglary during the middle of the House's impeachment investigation.  That's what is happening right now.

Imagine if the senate during Nixon's time was controlled by the Republicans and they told Nixon, "no matter what you do we will make sure not to convict you if the house impeaches you".  Pretty sure Nixon would have gone on to do much worse things.

Slight problem with that. There were Republicans with a spine that cared more about their country than their party in the 70's.

Funny, lots of folks like me were Republicans, and we left the party because we didn't feel comfortable being a part of it.

Laudable, my friend. You and your kind likely represent the GOPs capable of reaching out for bipartisan action instead of declaring war on your fellow citizens. When the howling GOPs on the committees claim that their disagreement on impeachment means it's not the bipartisan action it should be, I think of GOPs like you.

No, the lock-step criminal organization members who hold office won't cross the line. Still, there are traditional GOPs among the people who have crossed that line. The alliance with Dems is likely temporary for you until you find a better voice for your politics, but welcome in this moment of dire need for the country.

If GOPs like you create a party that reflects your values, you will similarly find me standing with you from time to time.

  1. He’s extremely sensitive about being seen as a draft-dodger as well as not being very macho (he passed it down to his sons - look at their dumbass macho photo shoots and the like).  To the point that he’d like to give himself medals.   Everybody but Fox News would call him a coward for skipping the debates.  He cares a lot about what others think of him.   He associates himself with people that he thinks are tough (Putin, the military, etc,).

  2. He truly believes he’s the smartest guy in the room.  His handlers can tell him that his opponent and the moderators are going to try and trip him up, and he will get pissed because he knows he’s smarter than the moderators or his opponent.   There is nothing worse to him than somebody around him telling him that a moderator or Warren or whoever will get the better of him.

  3. He’s desperate to win and stay out of the clutches of various state AGs.  He probably thinks his debates vs Hillary helped him.  He’s not going to give up the chance to be seen by everybody, and he probably believes debates can help him.

Keep in mind that he thinks he does a better job at talking to the media than having WH briefings.

Maybe the ones who are uncertain of their 2020 outcomes, but McConnell told Hannity today that the Senate would be taking its cues from the WH lawyers. (Paraphrased but yes, you read that correctly). That doesn’t sound like politicians who are planning on leaving power ever.

Trump and Turtle  can’t stop Roberts from swearing somebody else in, come January of 2021.   Turtle says and does things to please Trump, or more importantly his base, but the moment Trump is an actual anchor on the Senate, he better hope there’s not an impeachment vote coming up.

The thing is, he thinks a "debate" is what we've been witnessing the past couple days in the House Judiciary Ctte.  Dems present facts in logical order.  GOP wail and gnash teeth.  "They're brilliant!" Dotard says.  And his 40% of the country genuinely believes this is true.  Because that's who they are.  Whoever shouts the loudest, most and longest is the "winner."

So that's the kind of filibustering we're going to see when he shows up to a debate.  If it's Warren, she'll look like the AP Calc teacher next to the JV football coach at the pep rally.   If it's Biden, screw it, it's still gonna go down like this...

I think this spot on.  Yes, we see McConnell saying "there will be no daylight between me and Dotard."  Because what the fuck else is he going to say?  Nothing as long as GOP = Trump.

he seems to think this is actually a good thing.

He's rather stuck on that 95% number isn't he?  Considering he tweeted this same approval rating (poll never ever cited of course) back in October and yet it is a record. Even the most feebled narcissist ought to know that um, 96 would be greater than 95. His cult must be even worse at math than I thought possible.

So will the Supreme Court kill democracy today and go down the path of appointing Trump as the King or try to save this nation ?

This is the tax records release thing, right?  Saw nothing on the headlines yet.

If I had money to put on it, I would guess another procedural delay.

Maybe.

In all seriousness, note that the subject in the first interview was "people", to which he subsequently referred to with the pronoun "he".

Donald Trump is (let's all say it together) full of shit.  He's a serial liar.  He cannot be trusted, ever.  His pudding brain delivers random "facts" to his mouth and they have no relation to past truth, current truth, or even future truth.  He's sick, he's evil, and he needs to be gone.  He will not be gone until he dies.
