Not that I've followed but some na!we on that list i didn't expect:

Delton from KSU to TCU.  He going to have to sit a year?  Released to transfer in conference?  Seems like a downgrade from Robinson (putting aside Robinson's habit of throwing picks)

Charles Strong leaving aggy so soon.

Levi Jones - he chose poorly.

I know a lot of people worry about this, but it will benefit Texas. If you can’t figure that out, just think about who benefits from free agency in the professional sports. Herman will leverage all of the natural and massive advantages of Texas. UT and the other blue bloods will eventually kill it on the transfer front except when there is regime change.

My takeaway from all this is that it's going to be harder than ever to rebuild as a new coach, especially at non-blue bloods. With the emergence of the portal, waivers, and a generally "transfer-positive" environment, players who don't care for the culture transitions with new leadership will be emboldened to test the waters like never before.

NFL opportunities might seem a lot more attractive to some college coaches now due to this transfer portal issue.  They'll grow tired of the constant requirement to recruit: 1)High School kids; 2) Transfers; and 3) Current players to stay.

Seems like the recruiting effort needed to be successful for CFB Coaches just tripled overnight.  It has to be much more difficult finding time to actually coach football.

I think good players who have had to wait behind a good starter will take chances with teams that have just undergone coaching transitions.

You guys should be doing cartwheels if Tater gets a waiver.  I haven't followed it that closely, but how in the hell did Fields get a waiver.  And if it's because some racist hurt his feelings over a year ago and the pain and suffering just started manifesting itself in the past few months (once he realized Fromm wasn't going anywhere), that's some fucking bullshit.  Everything is already stacked against programs at our level and now Saban can just stroll into Stillwater with a shopping list?

Mack Brown used to steal RC Slocum's shopping list.

I agree - but not sure how to feel about that. Even if it advantages UT I'm not sure it is good for the integrity of the sport.

I'm reading that as Texas/Bru is gonna get completely screwed while one Tathan Martellus gets his full waiver.

Tate to ACC... New ESPN ACC Network Aug 2019

Bru to B12...... LHN Texas🤘

ESPN ACC Network > LHN Texas🤘

ESPN influence/bias on this not looking good

Rutgers's best O lineman is looking to grad transfer, and Ohio State is high on his list.

Out of the 2 games that Rutgers lost to Ohio State by a combined score of (like) 100 to 3...

I'd transfer there too...

I was pleased to discover that Ohio State has actually played Rutgers, you can never be sure in those garbage super conferences.

(Assuming Bru's waiver is approved) if CFB free agency wasn't a thing before, it certainly is now.

Yep. The offseason is about to get that much crazier. Between UT being one of the major programs in the sport and the infrastructure Herman has established, I can only see this benefitting Texas, as a whole, moving forward.

More stats and info on too many underclassmen leaving early.....

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/26554382/underclassmen-getting-bad-draft-info

Also Saban's take:

Saban not a fan of some players leaving early for NFL..... Has stats to back it up.

http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/26458754/saban-players-lose-entering-nfl-draft-early

Alabama coach Nick Saban warned against all but the top-ranked players leaving early for the NFL draft, saying, "the person that loses in that is the player."

Saban watched seven of his underclassmen declare for this month's NFL draft, the most in his tenure at the school. Saban said Saturday that players who are selected in later rounds -- or not at all -- might be leaving money on the table and helping NFL teams save on salaries.

"Now, we have guys that have no draft grades, seventh-round grades, free-agent grades, fifth-round grades that are going out of the draft. And the person that loses in that is the player," Saban said after Alabama's spring game. "If you're a third-round draft pick, and we had one here last year -- I'm not going to say any names -- goes and starts for his team, so he's making third-round money, which is not that great. He'd be the first guy taken at his position this year, probably, and make $15-18 million more.

"So, the agent makes out, the club makes out, and now they've got a guy that's going to play for that kind of money for three more years, all right? And everybody out there's saying, 'Well, get to your next contract.' Well, there's obviously 50 percent of these guys never getting to a next contract. And that doesn't mean all the rest of them got to one, either."

Saban said the increased willingness to turn pro early has affected his recruiting process to include discussion of life after football.

"So, it's the culture and it's the trend, and I've actually changed how I talk to recruits now," Saban said. "I tell every recruit that I talk to the reason that you're going to college is to prepare yourself for the day you can't play football. I think we have a lot of people way back in high school, all right, that look at college as a conduit to get to the NFL. And look, I am 100 percent NFL. I'm 100 percent guys having careers, all right? But people have to be smart about the business decisions they make relative to the NFL because it is all business.
