i think ezra's post said something along the lines of "three 2-song drops every month until the record is out" which I believe start next week . . .

"Harmony Hall" and "2021" are out on your streaming services. Not sure what I think of it yet.

I was afraid to listen. Might wait until the full album releases. I don't want my impression of them being ruined, but I guess I can assuage myself that it isn't the same band if things go south. Glad I got to see them with Rostam in the lineup.

I liked 'HH' well enough and '2021' just sounds like an add-on b-side, although nice, way too short to be taken seriously. I saw someone comment on twitter that HH sounds like Dirty Projectors with a sweeter voice, and i agree. I hope the album gets a lot sexier than these two singles but then again I also remember not 100% digging VW's first singles ahead of an imminent album in the past with 'Diane Young' off MVOTC and 'Horchata' bc they were stylistically different than what I was used to with VW (I dig both of those tracks now). I think this album will be great, but Rostam was the fuckin man. His albums have been a nice bridge.

Foals will have two albums this year. First single:

It sorta had to grow on me vs previous singles, but grow on me it did. Looking forward to seeing them this year. They kick total ass live.

So I guess we're not getting those 3 Ryan Adams records this year. Wow.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/02/13/arts/music/ryan-adams-women-sex.html

I think they’ll release them.

Anyone who has paid attention to Adams’ career knew he was a self involved douchebag/asshole.  He’s never faced these specific allegations, but it’s hardly a stretch from his well documented behavioral pattern.

My wife and I were talking about it earlier and I said basically the same thing.  From what I know of him, this is not surprising.  He has some demons that he can't shake.

I love the guy's music and own pretty much everything he has put out, but I don't know if I can support him going forward.

The big reason I hesitate to walk away from a musician’s work at this point is the mild hypocrisy of it.

All the “classic” rock guys make Adams look like a Mormon and no one is calling them on the carpet.  John Lennon beat the fuck out of his first wife and he’s some kind of ambassador for peace and love.  Mick Jagger?  Go listen to “Stray Cat Blues”.  Zeppelin?  Mercy.  Pete Townshend had some child porn.  The list goes on.  Despite the fairly known foibles of these guys, there’s no demand to cancel their art.

For as long as I’ve liked Ryan Adams’ music, I’ve been aware that he wasn’t a good person.  It didn’t stop my listening then, why should it now?

I love HEALTH. One of my favorite current bands.  Their 4th album "Vol. 4 - Slaves of Fear" goes fucking hard.  Might be their best.  Probably their most accessible, as they've gotten gradually less weird/ experimental over the years.

this is a reasonable opinion and while there are probably millions of words to be read on not separating the art and the artist, i'd like to think i can put on english girls approximately and enjoy it the same way i always have.

and yes, selfishly i hope we get to hear the 3 albums, although in this day and age i'm skeptical. wouldn't be surprised if big colors comes out since we're pretty far into the buildup, and the other 2 are quietly released on some subsidiary of a subsidiary.

shit he might do time.  or be exonerated.  either way he is shitting bricks as he should be.

Jason Isbell apparently said on Instagram he and his wife didn’t know about any of this regarding Ryan but also said he isn’t surprised and believes it.

Probably. That doesn't mean it's okay to be an asshole and mistreat women.

I know you aren't defending him, I just don't think his "demons" have anything to do with it.

The new Cass McCombs is my favorite new album in a while.  As a deadhead, it hits a sweet spot for me that few things do.  That being said, it does not sound anything like them.

The new Mandolin Orange is good, but way mellower than their previous two (which are mellow af).
