Good hire... still expect the same level of results as Holgo without the redbull and crazy eyes

Then they aren't the same results.  I like having one maniac roaming a Big 12 sideline.

Judging by his performance while dealing with Pine Box Tommy at Tech and what he's done at Troy, it seems like a really strong hire

I still think Les to Kansas is a home run for all of us. Admittedly, I've only heard of this guy, never seen Troy play. How does his style translate to the Big XII?

he’s a damn good coach who schemes extremely well and his players are deathly loyal and will run through walls for him. gets the very most from his team and always had them game day ready.

he’s Matt Campbell on steroids.

Neal Brown just seems like a better fit for West Virginia...... Holgy was out of place there

Yeah, he seems like more of a tech or ASU kind of guy.

Wake up around 12:30, skip the shower and head into the office by 1.

Practice from 2-4 (can't miss happy hour).  Come back and hit film from 9-12:30 then strange the bars.

Bed by 4, redbull and repeat.

West Virginia: Former UNC assistant Chad Scott who just last week had agreed to go to Louisville is now expected to join Neal Brown’s staff as co-offensive coordinator tweets Pete Thamel. We can add that sources tell us Matt Moore is expected to be the other co-OC.

Overall Neal Brown is bringing a balanced and holistic approach to program management and team building combined with the same Air Raid philosophy as everyone else. If he and his staff can work out how to embrace the advantages of coaching Big 12 skill players while maintaining their program focus on toughness, defense, and special teams it could provide the Mountaineers with an edge over their competition.

ESPN article on Recruiting:

Neal Brown, West Virginia

Brown was hired at West Virginia on Jan. 4, after Dana Holgorsen took the Houston head-coaching job. Brown didn't have the luxury of being hired before the early signing period, but he inherited a recruiting class of 18 signed prospects.

It's a good class, currently ranked No. 44 overall, with two four-star commitments to start the foundation of his program. ESPN JC 50 cornerback Dreshun Miller is the top recruit in the class. He's joined by ESPN 300 wide receiver Osita Smith.

He hasn't added any new high school recruits in the 2019 class since he was hired, but similar to the other new coaches, Brown brought in a transfer quarterback to help bolster the roster.

He and his staff were able to get Oklahoma transfer Austin Kendall to join the team, which will help replace the hole left by Will Grier's departure. Landing Kendall was his first big recruiting win, even though he isn't technically a high school prospect.

The Mountaineers don't have any 2020 commitments just yet, but Brown didn't have the advantage of being hired before the early signing period began, so he is still getting things settled with the 2019 class and even his own staff.

Neal Brown making another Chess move stealing a young quality coach from K-State... Blake Seiler who also played at K-State

Fair to point out that Blake Seiler's wife is from New Castle, Pennsylvania (121 miles from Morgantown). There are some obvious conclusions to draw as to why Seiler would leave, but probably a combination of a lot of things in the end.

I'd never heard of this guy, or Troy for that matter (until they started continually screwing my bowl picks). I think it's a good move. Holgo left some reasonably big shoes to fill.

Holgy underachieved with 2018 WVU Team.  No way that 2018 Team should have lost 3 B12 Conference games --  they were a favorite to make the B12 Championship Game but failed.

Lots of WVU fans are happy that they now have Neal Brown instead of Holgy.

I've known Neal for several years and WVU is damn lucky to get him. He's a really really good coach and an even better person.

Troy going in and beating LSU at Tiger Stadium last year was awesome ...but, Troy gave Clemson all they wanted in 2016...that was Clemson with Deshaun Watson the year they won the national championship....losing 30-24 at Clemson is pretty impressive for little ass Troy  (Clemson recovered an onside with about  minute left to seal the deal)

Siap.....

Georgia State offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach Travis Trickett will join Neal Brown’s staff at West Virginia. He will coach inside receivers and tight ends.

The son of longtime Florida State offensive line coach Rick Trickett, Travis Trickett holds previous coordinator experience at Florida Atlantic and Samford in addition to Georgia State.

Trickett attended West Virginia as an undergraduate, where he spent his college years as a student assistant on Rich Rodriguez’s staff working with quarterback Pat White. He was a graduate assistant on Nick Saban’s inaugural Alabama staff and worked at Florida State under Bobby Bowden and Jimbo Fisher.

Guess Neal Brown lost Mark Perry to Kentucky....

Kentucky: Source tells FootballScoop Joe Scola & Mark Perry have joined Mark Stoops’ staff. Scola, who was on Lane Kiffin’s staff at FAU last season, is expected to serve as a defensive analyst. Perry, the former Lexington Catholic head coach, served as Neal Brown’s director of football operations at Troy last season and had gone with him to West Virginia as director of football administration. At Kentucky, source tells FootballScoop Perry is expected to work in a quality control role assisting with the quarterbacks, the position he played at UK.

WVU also shouldn't have won in Austin.  But I'm not bitter or anything . . . .
