Knocked an hour off my time. I can hear you now “that’s awesome Drummond”

Swim was cancelled.

Windy as fuck on bike. Run was better than La Quinta, so I’ll take that as a positive. Calgary in July is current plan. But right now not feeling it. I’m sure I’ll be fine in a few days.

I'm back from Tokyo.  Ran the Tokyo Marathon on Sunday.  It was cold and rainy, but I did PR.  Finally went sub 3:35.  Flat, fast course.  Despite a few out and backs, I liked it. Definitely feel

Signed up for Wilmington 70.3 in October instead of Waco. Meeting some friends out there. I’m m going to try and do a few sprints this summer.

Plus its not in Waco. So win win.

Driving with wife to Chattanooga to support her friend doing it this weekend (new Orleans tomorrow). She has done quite a few and this is one of her favorite races, so scoping it out.

This was the first time in 5 years I didn’t do the Nooga 70.3 and I didn’t miss it one bit. I did go down to watch a few friends do it and it was by far the hottest day so far in Chattanooga and everyone was looking more miserable than normal.

I had a friend doing it for the first time and the night before he told me wasn’t nervous and I knew then he was fucked. He finished with about twenty minutes left before cutoff.

Yes it was def hot. I was debating this one and hawaii for next may. Of course that decision is obvious, but i would stay in hawaii for a couple weeks which would affect a planned hiking tour of the alps next summer. decisions decisions.

I am planning on doing the 70.3 and Full again in Chattanooga and then retiring triathlons at the age of 46. I’ve done 5 70.3’s and 1 full prior and just kind of over it.

For those of you training for stuff, how are you handling this extended summer heat?

I’m registered for the Houston Marathon on Jan 17, so my 18 week training block starts now. Just maintaining a modest 25-30 mpw base has been such a beating lately. Even getting up to run at 6:00 am, it’s 82F with 82% humidity.

Summer needs to go away.

9th edition of taco bell 50k ultra marathon is happening this Saturday October 3rd in Denver Colorado.

This is one of the weirdest marathons you will see. Runners have to stop at all 10 taco bells. They must eat a menu item from 9 of 10 taco bells. By 4th stop

I stopped at a Church's Chicken about mile 2 of a half-marathon in South Austin once because I had a gut bomb about to explode. Didn't eat anything, though. Finished the race without an issue.

Running the Marine Corp Marathon, I almost stopped at a food truck along the mall for a pretzel and would have had there not been a line. I must have really needed some salt.

Can't imagine eating anything from Taco Bell, though.

Here is a video of taco bell 50k ultra marathon in Denver Colorado. They had to run to 10 different taco bells and had to eat a menu item at 9/10 taco bells. They have 11 hours to finish the race.
