Among other things, we need to buy a new kitchen table. Where's the best place to get one without spending a lot, but also where I don't have to fucking assemble it myself? I'm in Dallas if that makes a difference. Gracias

I'd say Ikea but that would require putting on your big girl panties and putting it together. If that's simply not an option drive around the hood, there's discount furniture stores on every corner

Check out the floor models at Haverty's if they have any for sale. Usually 40-60% off when we lived there and they want to move them. This was the one in Coppell should it make a difference.

A kitchen table is going to be very basic assembly regardless of where it's purchased.  If you don't want to bolt on 4 legs, just go to one of the chain furniture stores and pay for delivery.  They'll set it up for you.

FFS, just where's the best place to buy a nice kitchen table w/o getting gouged in price?

and either swing by home depot for a day laborer or:

Fair enough. I had the perception that Ikea stuff was shoddy, but will check them out.
A lot of it is but they have some good stuff for the price, would be worth at least a browse on the website. We had a lot of Ikea when we were poor and newly married. We've replace most of it but still have our entertainment center which I still really like.

I think the big gabbert's on 635 E of Midway is going out of business, so nice shit should be on sale.

Weirs outlet probably has nice stuff too.

I still don’t understand how Gabberts is allowed to advertise a going out of business sale for 25 years.

are there not resale shops in Dallas?
not as risky, albeit a little more expensive, as picking up from the curb in your hood

or craigslist - but that could end up costing you a kidney

Facebook Marketplace, if you Facebook. Craigslist for furniture is not too risky. Consignment places. You can refinish stuff pretty easy and there are a bajillion blogs and YouTube videos on how to do it.

Don't buy new and cheap. That crap won't last five years and for sure won't last more than one move.  Eat on a fold out table until you can find something decent.

There is a brand new furniture store here in SA.  Living Spaces.

Very reasonably priced furniture. Not sure where you are but you can check out their website. Looks like they also have a store in Pville.

This might blow your mind.... but there's this thing called Craigslist. It's pretty new I think, only been around for like, 20 years maybe? I've heard you can buy things there for really good prices and even haggle the price down. There might be a limited selection though, Dallas Craigslist probably only has like 8 billion kitchen tables listed.
