Yeah,  Shitheads everywhere you looked.  Friday night they put together a show at the Purple Building in East Nashville.  Ben De La Cour, Tommy Womack, KK Rider and then John Polz and Jon Latham played together.  It was so good.

Anyone else catch Todd at the Paramount Theater last night? Outstanding show. Elizabeth Cook was great as the opener and Jack Ingram even came out for a song or two. Wonderful night.

I went last night, great show.  Paramount has great acoustics.  I didn’t even recognize Ingram when he came out to sing along on that first song.  Looked to get tickets for his show in Houston on Sunday at the Heights theater, but it is sold out.  Was a little surprised he didn’t sell out last nights show.

It'll be interesting to see if that's the vibe of the whole album.  Different direction for him, for sure.

I thought Cash Cabin featured some of his most naked, honest, and gut wrenching songs - based in his divorce.  It seems his response to losing his friends is fun and effervescent.

First Agnostic is a big bag of “meh” for me so far. Lacks hooks, and doesn’t have anything that lyrically blows my mind or guts me.

It’s cool that he’s pushing himself musically, I guess. Just doesn’t land.

I think I have two extra to Todd Snider tomorrow night in Austin (Paramount).  Row 5.

Face value (I think was right at $45 each with fees).

PM me.

Anyone?

Great to see live music again and I’d almost forgotten how much I hate people that can’t shut the fuck up or stay off their phones for a couple of hours.

In.

Was listening to the Cash Cabin Sessions this AM and I really hope he gets back to that kind of writing.  The actual songs he wrote on that album are just staggeringly good.

Watering Flowers is maybe my favorite Todd Snider song.  Just Like Overnight, Force of Nature, Working on a Song are all just killers.

Todd has rerecorded his albums solo and has been giving them away with various merch packages.   You can find the first few on Spotify and some songs on youtube.   But relistening to "Songs From the Daily Planet" really brings back memories and shows what a fantastic songwriter he is.   He was living in Atlanta at the time and would show up at radio stations and play his stuff so I was lucky enough to be an early adopter.
