Dan will be on the 40 acres on Tuesday evening for those that would either like to hear him speak or those that would like to protest.  I’m kinda In both camps so meet me at a nearby bar at 4:30p for pre-talk libations.

I’m guessing the 2-for-1 is an eyeball joke?   Yeah, he’s actually speaking under the auspices of Mccombs school of business which is why I learned of it.  But of course the college republicans co signed on so while I want varying views on campus, I worry they’re gonna out their vineyard vines shirts on and come out and antagonize protesters.

no matter what you think politically, a member of Congress comes to your campus, you host your opposition as politely as you host the elected official.

A few early protesters already here.  I guess this seemed more productive than waiting in line for Jimmy Fallon tickets.

let me workshop something, “I thank you for your service and support some of your congressional initiatives.  But your blind loyalty to President Trump is cause for concern.”

I'd really like him to have to answer a question about his stance of the Ukraine affair having "no quid pro quo" in light of the sworn testimony that was released today in which QPQ was confirmed.

Especially with the guy (Sondland) who pushed the QPQ saying in sworn testimony that "I'm not a lawyer, but I don't think it's legal" and that it was in fact inappropriate. And all of the other inconvenient facts around that.

Holy shit, that got weird.  Some weird pocket of anti-Semitic rednecks attempted to usurp the Q&A with students with some agenda shouting on behalf of nick Fuentes, some neo-nazi man child who I’m finding out in real time went to my high school outside Chicago.  Shit got weird for a few minutes, lots of police escorting people out but not the kinda anti-GOP SJW’s you would have thought.

anyway; he’s not my cup of tea and I figured his talk would have been more fringe right given the student groups hosting him.  But it was largely civil and even interesting at times, though largely just fluff.

Crenshaw got deluged by far right, Nick Fuentes followers at a TPUSA event hosted by that tiny-faced, closeted sodomite, Charlie Kirk.  The questions were actually posed respectfully and intelligently.  He could not answer multiple questions about whether or not Texas state contractors should be required to give written loyalty to Israel.  It's pretty clear that Kirk and Crenshaw and handfuls of these other grifters are financed by the same Israeli neo-con cash that gets funneled to Ben Shapiro to promote whatever possible war in the Middle East that might be available.  The motives of these people are almost all purely anti-semitic, but it's fascinating to watch them push simple questions that these people simply can't answer in fear of the money faucet being shut off.

anyone interested, there's a guy writing a book about the alt-right and this new version the alt-right (apparently Chooky is a member) who explains what these people are and what they're trying to do

Yes, all you need to be a member is a tiki torch and to recite the purity oath to the tune of the alphabet song.  And watch and contribute your money to the far-right YouTube intelligentsia.

Imagine being in your mid-thirties and obediently showing up to a college campus to spring surprise questions on one internet grifter because another internet grifter told you to do it.  Imagine living in a political era where you inadvertently learned what a "groyper" is because their numbers became somewhat substantial during the dumbest time in American politics.

The interesting Venn overlap here are people who are content with Israel as an important ally due to a rational grasp of history, fundamentalist war mongers who want to use Israel as a prop to fully intervene in every middle eastern skirmish so weapons contractors and seedy private security firms can have literal orgies, and Nazi kids living in gated communities.

Slobs like Bannon and Miller and Alex Jones type rubes have courted these ghouls toward the mainstream GOP when they watched their numbers increase because they simply couldn't handle a black guy being president.  Now they're in the tent and shitting in the food supply.  And it all derives from intellectual voids that range from internet/YouTube racist extremist too repugnant and vile to keep any social media accounts active to internet/YouTube racist extremist just repugnant and vile enough to push the same message but also just presentable enough to contribute to Fox News with Laura Ingraham and Tucker Carlson.

What's fascinating and hilarious to me is that they don't know how to handle each other.  If someone says "man, I don't think Israeli snipers should shoot Pakistani children protesting 300 yards away," they'll call you a full-blown Anti-Semite.  If someone said "of course we should support and protect Israel based on the last century of American history" they'll call that person a betrayer of their race and faith. You have one side of this populist conservative movement who are, without any sense of irony, confused at the oldest kind of repulsive ignorance being spewed by the irrational and nonyielding white supremacists they invited over.

One of the million examples of the conversations these idiots have forced themselves to have with other idiots:

Matt Walsh, who prefers to speak about his hatred of just gay people, now has to juggle his isolated hatred with a distinct group of people who hate him for not hating their broader but also isolated hatred of other people they feel he's failing to appropriately hate.  They hate each other for not hating the thing they consider the most important thing to currently hate.  This is the idiot stew that is boiling in the basement of the mainstream GOP and they're going to have to eventually address it.  And I get to laugh the entire time.

We've spent years telling "mainstream" Republicans that if they keep going back to that racism well they were going to hit a big fucking pool of antisemitism, and their response was always "I don't have a racist bone in my body I just support stronger borders and you'd call anyone you disagree with a nazi! I LOVE ISRAEL ISRAEL IS MY HOMEBOY HOW CAN I POSSIBLY BE DOING ANTISEMITISM!?"

It feels kind of rewarding to be proven right by history.

Lie down with dogs, get fleas, circular firing squads, all that shit.

Courting hate is never a wise strategy.  But they still went all-in, and REMAIN all-in....

7-things-trump-henchman-stephen-miller-h

This is EXACTLY what they get.

Problem is, they're the party in power, and they're going to take down the whole fucking country with them.

The other dynamic is how this new and improved version of conservatism panders hard to seize victimization sympathy for themselves.  These two groups of conservatives are grappling to win the ultimate victim status.

"Bro, it's impossible to just be a white Protestant male these days."

"You're struggling being white in a country where everything is run by white dudes in a world where Protestantism is overwhelmingly influential in every aspect of mankind?"

"You have no idea, bro.  Got suspended from Twitter for calling a dumb bitch a nappy-headed welfare queen who won't stop taking my dad's money.  My dad totally owns a dealership.  Got kicked out of college for telling this chink bitch to either learn to park or get the fuck out of my country."

"Sounds like maybe you're getting push back from just generally shitty behavior."

"Nah, bro.  Wake up.  This is how the Jews designed it."
