Jalapenos get me from time to time and it doesn't seem to correlate with their hotness in my mouth.  I tend to think it has more to do with their ability to pass through my guts "intact" than their Scovill rating.  I have not had much trouble with hotter peppers, but I don't consume them in great quantity (the quantity of japs passing through the ringmeat may be a factor as well).

What are we talking about on the Scoville scale? Do you know the exact variety of said Thai Pepper? Thai peppers are shown on the scale as being 100,000. Well below the 300,000 of a habanero...maybe a bhut jolokia was used in the dish?

hey Kyrie you live in Galveston still man? i am down here visiting family for a bit - and that Mercadito on 38th and Broadway is balls good right now. Ask them to Habenero up your salsa man. Its fucking great. Best mex in galveston right now.
