Great win. The rest of our conference matches are tough road matches so those 2 wins on our home court were crucial.

That was a solid effort in singles today. Was at the USC match and watched on LHN today, doubles were not good at either of those. Are those teams that good or was Texas just off those days? Have not seen earlier matches but they must have done well enough to be ranked where they are. Will be tough on the road if they are playing from 0-1.

Selection day is today! Looks like UT will end up as the number 2 national seed. Will be interesting to see who gets sent to the Austin regional. With A&M, Baylor, and TCU also hosting, there'll be many teams the NCAA will have to fly down to the Lone Star State.

Here's the interactive version. I really like our draw. Anything less than a final 4 appearance would be a disappointment

I agree that the draw is quite favorable. Two of the three teams to beat us this year (Ohio State and USC), last year's NCAA champs Wake Forest, and perennial powerhouse Virginia (2015-2017 champions) are all on the opposite side of the draw.

Congrats to Coach Berque for stepping into a tough position and claiming Coach of the Year! Wonder how many other interim coaches have ever gotten coach of the year honors.

Christian is co-player of the year!

Four singles wins.

Cal just upset Illinois

Texas beat Cal last year 4-0 and Cal graduated its top 2 players from last year's team. Ideal draw to the Elite Eight. Need to take advantage.

We have 4 ranked singles players and that paid dividends today. We won’t be able to win matches without the doubles point as we get deeper in the tournament so we have to get better there

When will the Texas Men's team play their next match??

So if we beat Cal on Saturday we will be in the elite eight right?

Correct-if they were to advance, team would be going to Lake Nona in Florida (also where the individual tournament will be held)

Either way, expect CDC to be there to scout for the new HC

Won the dubs point! Second line was also at match point. Makes singles a bit easier. As Berque said in his press conference, Markes should be playing the same guy as last year.

If Texas were to advance, they'll face the winner of Mississippi State and TCU. TCU currently up 1-0.

Glad to see the team will be going with CDC to Lake Nona.

Any names making the circles?

Nothing much from what I've heard. The only thing is that Roditi has been retweeting or replying to some of the Texas tennis twitter posts (to be fair, I haven't paid much attention to twitter before so this might be the norm for him)

Roditi would be a strong hire. He recruited on par with Center imo, and on many occasions out-recruited him getting players like Nunez, Norrie, and Rybakov to anchor his recent teams. Unless we can get Virginia's old coach out of retirement, Roditi is one of my favs

Why exactly is Berque not an option?

He’s an option but he was fired at Michigan for a reason. Mainly, he just couldn’t recruit the top guys and his teams were kinda middle of the road in the B1G. This program will honestly be fine for another few years regardless who is coach due to our players coming back and our strong 2020 recruiting class , but there’s valid concerns about sustained success under Berque looking at history.

Sweeep. Texas wins 4-0

So does Texas play TCU next tomorrow May 16th??

Texas men’s tennis program's win in the 2019 NCAA Championship Super Regional Round, earned them a trip to Orlando, Florida. The quarterfinals, along with the semifinals and the championship match, will be played at the USTA National Campus in the Sunshine State, May 16-19.
