So two 2 run losses so far. Actually probably the toughest OU has been played so far. But that’s now 17 straight against Texas. This is getting very Kim Mulkey-esque

Only lost by 1 tonight..... Love the fight tonight 🤘

Damn coaching mistake.  White should have held her.

I get it though. It’s OU, 2 outs, chance to tie. Catchers make mistakes at the plate, throw might be off....

Yeah it’s a tough call but we were hitting the ball well today, 12 hits I think? And OUs defense this series, from what I’ve seen, has been incredible. Hindsight is 20/20 and there’s no guarantee we would have pulled it off if she were held at 3rd

Obviously late to this thread but I hope Coach White wears a glove when shaking hands with ou herpes coach. She should be quarantined.

She took a ground ball to mouth during BP on Friday

Elish pitching in all 3 games just asking too much.  Miranda's pitching effort was awesome on Friday..... just too many errors by defense and no run support.

Btw..... hate that bow & arrow bullshit on homerun trot by Grace Green... NO CLASS

Yesterday was our chance to steal one, but it just didn’t go our way. I’m already looking forward to the rematch at McCombs in 2021 when Mike has a near full roster of his players

Umpire a little inconsistent on that last blOU hitter and Elish gives up a walk to put 2 on and 2 out.... next gooner hitter CRUSHES a 3run HR.....

OUCH...... After 4 1/2 innings

blOU...... 5

Horns...... 1

well fuck. We just don't have the horses.

  • Errors cost Texas game #1....
  • Missed opportunities in game #2...
  • Shea injured, so little chance to win game #3

LadyHorns were very competitive in the first 2 games of this series against #1 ranked team.  Lots of positive for LadyHorns to take from this weekend.....

Just keep working hard and improving and the future for Longhorn Softball is Bright!!  🤘

-  Elish just appeared tired,  physically and mentally, today.   Threw 17.2 inn and 251 pitches in 3 consecutive days    Seemed she just lost concentration on the HR balls to Alo and Green.   The ball to Alo was letter high outside zone and let her extend her arms.   The ball to Green was letter high inside zone and she quickly turned on it.

-  Elish is a top college pitcher,  a true warrior,  but very emotional which can be a detriment.     Point is she is accustomed to a more supportive pitching staff and position players.

-  White was quoted in  the AAS stating he would not bring O'Leary back until she is 100%.   She was stretching and throwing soft toss in the pen.   Support soft brace on both ankles.

-   Would like a rematch with O'Leary, Alcozer, and Ellsworth healthy.   Alcozer was not at the games on Thurs/Fri but there today and participated in pregame    Not sure why she did not play or PH.  Injury ?   Guess Ellsworth may redshirt ?  Alcozer and Ellsworth are very capable of adding power to the lineup.

-  Tough to get swept,  but two words:   "We Belong"

Can't find embed link,  but above link is an interview with O'Leary.    She discusses sunglasses,  having Grave's Disease (thyroid issue), and her playing history.    Great person,  hope she overcomes health/injury challenges.

#1:  Yes, we exhausted Elish.  She was asked to do a lot.  Ideally, she would not have pitched more than game 1 and 3 if O'Leary had been healthy enough.

#2: A lot of "drrrrr, White is just inflating O'Leary's stats so he didn't bring her in even though she was soft tossing in the pen" Stupid AF.  We won't get far in postseason play without a 100% Shae, so I support the decision.  We have to really be happy with that we saw on Thursday/Friday from this team.

#3: Yes, ready for the Big 12 tournament re-match with Shae and Alcozer.  Not sure what's going on with her.  At this point, you may as well just use 2019 as Ellsworth's RS year.

#4: We definitely belong.  Thursday/Friday was probably the toughest OU was played all year outside of their 2 losses early on.

We may have helped OU into the #1 overall seed as they vaulted from #4 to #1 in the RPI after the sweep BUT Texas remains #5 and in a possible national seed position.  I hope we can sweep through the rest of our schedule (Kansas, 2 against Baylor, UIW and PVA&M) before Big 12 tournament.

AND LASTLY -

Holy fuck, is Mary Iakopo good or what? She ate up Sooner pitching. She's a SOPHOMORE.  This team is going to be so incredibly good next year.

No problem..... asked because I was curious if you had some backstory or if you were just unaware that she goes by Shea.

Omg the top 10 teams in RPI (aka, vying for a national seed), these are games played versus top 50:

OU            19
UCLA         21
Arizona      27
Wash         28
Texas        26
FSU           21
LSU           32
Alabama    23
Florida       31
NW           17

Unfortunately, we're probably capped out at 26.  Nothing else on our schedule is going to be top 50 unless Baylor goes on a tear (#58 currently). ISU and Lipscomb are hanging around that top 50 cut line (51/52 respectively).  Too bad we couldn't get a North Texas game somewhere instead of UIW or PVA&M - they are #54.

Great to hear Coach White is protecting Shea by waiting till she's 100% healthy.

Untill pitching fatigue showed up in game #3, the Horns showed that they can stay with blOU as long as the Horns don't have defensive mistakes.

Really fun watching the LadyHorns since Coach White and his transfers arrived!!

Hook'em 🤘

We have to be one of the teams with the biggest gap between the legit polling and RPI.

RPI - 5

USA Today / NFCA - 11

ESPN / USA Softball - 12

It sure seems like part of the issue was baseball/softball was combined.  I think that's why some ADs had issue with "forcing" it on softball which is not usually a money maker (or, more of a money taker than baseball which has higher revenues).

It should have been done separately.

Updates are on y'all tonight.  I'll be in Endgame starting at 5.  The game will probably be over by the time the movie is done!
