Feel deeply for you.  We are working through a similar situation with our Penny girl.  She was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy almost five years ago.  We have been lucky with a treatment regimen that has kept the seizures mostly under control.  Recently the frequency of the breakthrough seizures has been increasing.  We've gone from maybe once a month six months ago to nearly one a week.  The intensity has been milder, but the increasing frequency has us thinking hard about her quality of life.  For now, she seems happy and has way more good days than bad days.

That's all we can do.  Try to give them as many good day as we can.

Hugs from Penny.

Best of luck to Penny, and prayers for your family. It was extremely hard to do but had to be for the better. With the big trauma moment and passing of Bevo I knew we couldn’t chance that again. Everyone loved him extra yesterday during the day and made our peace.

Initial diagnosis was same as Penny but with the continued breakthroughs, blood levels decreasing, and such a young age the Doc was fairly confident there was more at work. Neurologist was recommended but I just felt even that would prolong the inevitable.

Sorry for long posting. Just working my way through it.

Good dog(s).  We're nearing the end with one and are starting to sense some change in the other.  They bring so much happiness into our lives.  Not the sharpest knives in the drawer but huge personalities.

Tough week without the big man waiting for me at the door in the morning after dropping the kids off. Then we’d spend 15 minutes outside. Not to mention the non stop naps at my feet while I worked.
