He's not playing his best ball of his career. Missing a lot of throws he used to make with regularity.

That's what makes this all the more amazing.

Exactly. Thought he played pretty damn mediocre most of the game. But when they really needed a play, he put the ball exactly where it needed to be.

Brady is fucking awesome but what does this have to do with him being good? That's his blocking.

Its also alot of him getting the ball out just in time and that blocking is partly due to him identifying the defensive plays and adjusting his protection

He's not even particularly accurate anymore, and his arm strength has never been something to write home about.

His strength is that he's seen just about every defense there is, and knows the right checks to make to beat them. Then he has incredible chemistry with a bunch of JAGs at receiver (plus the shell of Gronkowski) to make up for their modest receiving talent, and several years of continuity in the offensive system with McDaniels.

On top of that, he still has incredible drive to win and works his ass off to take care of his body.

he's had the best passing protection i've ever seen , and that's been his entire career. How the hell do the OL do it, generation after generation? That's the underlying reason for their success.

eh.  tom has more to do with it than I think you realize.  nate solder’s stellar work as a patriot got him over $15MM/year from the giants and he is fucking terrible.

his arm strength isn't great at this age, but was above average before.  Tonight's zip to Edelman over the middle was a lazer beam when he needed it the most.

Nine Super Bowls. Nine.

Who is ever going to break that record?

Dallas and Pitt have been in 8, NE with 10 actually (remember 1986), unless BB only then 9 which agreed is unbreakable.

Brady's been fortunate to have Belichick as a head coach. He also takes a lot less money than he could, although the $15 mil a year ain't chump changeThis year, he made less than Blake Bortles. He knows Belichick will use that money to ID offensive linemen and keep them happy.

The most impressive things about him are his attention to detail, and frankly, the fact that he's never gotten bored with winning big games.

This. His o-line has never really been particularly dominant. But he knows what defense you're in pre-snap, and he's going to get the ball out quickly and on target. Blitz at your own peril. Don't blitz, and all of the sudden he's taking deeper shots with no pressure. 3 quarters of beating your man, but barely getting a finger on Brady before he throws has to take a toll on a defense and make them a half a step slower in the 4th.

The blueprint to beating Brady has always been simple: don't play zone and pressure him without blitzing. But how many teams have the personnel for that?

No one is going to confuse his arm for Favre or Elway, but I'd argue that he's the best adverse weather passer of all time. Romo hit on it early in the game, but his lower body torque and almost always perfect spiral just cut through the wind/rain/snow/whatever else you typically see in January.
