Tom Brady Is UnFucking Real

Vic Mackey

Recommended Posts

Tampa was a garbage, albeit talent laden, organization going into '20. No chemistry.  No cohesion.  No leadership.  No nothing.  Its head coach was a mess.  Its QB threw 30 picks last season.

Brady took the team over.  In the locker room, on the sidelines and everywhere in between.  The head coach acknowledged as such.  Mediocrity wasn't going to be accepted. Excellence and a championship were the only options.  Short of that was failure.

Tonight was the end result.   Brady imposed his will on the other 52 players on the team.  And the coaching staff.  They went from trash without a clue to an organized and driven team. No coincidence that acquisition of one player was the difference.  And the result was a world championship.

Good for Brady   The best.  Ever.

This man just left the franchise he had played almost 20 years for and won six Super bowls with at age 42, went to a team that went 7-9 and missed the playoffs in the previous season, and won the Superbowl with them in the first fucking year.

Absolute GOAT. We will never see another like him. We may see a QB win as much (doubtful) or be a better player but there will never be another Brady.

And you know this fucker is going to try and go do it again next year, too.

Can’t say it any better than this post. Brady the absolute best. We will never see anything like this again.

He needs to drop the mic after this one. Winning a SB is hard. Go out on top.

Yeah. But he won't. Because he's Tom Brady.

The only remaining debate is if Brady's the GOAT in any sport period.

There's no other team sport where one position matters this much.  The best starting pitcher goes every 5th game and the best hitter is 1/9th of the lineup.  There is no dominant position in basketball -- centers, swingmen, and point guards can all change a franchise.  But Brady plays the one position in football that can completely change a franchise in one direction or the other.  And there's a leadership aspect required in this position -- quiet guys who do their talking on the court/field don't get it done.  You literally have to be a coach on the field, a motivational speaker, enough of a badass that your word is the word of God in that lockerroom, and oh yeah, the best ever at this most important position in all of team sports.  That's the only way you take a 7-9 team, change the culture immediately, and go win a Super Bowl.

It's really remarkable.

Tom Brady had a hall of fame career. Then he got injured. Then he came back and had an entirely separate hall of fame career. Now he is working on his third.

And he is actually that good. He should have two separate hall of fame displays, each of which may very well make him the best player of all time by itself. Together, its not even close.

Wasn't Brady that asked for Brown, Gronk and Fournette? He rode those questionable choices tonight for 4 TDs.

Yep. And now Belichick is going under the microscope. He's gonna need to do better than 7-9 without Brady.

He is getting old, but Brady could take this years Browns to the Superbowl. He is that level.

But Mahomes may get there. He played the whole game under immense pressure with zero blocking and was a few dropped passes from making this interesting.  But no matter how good he gets, he won't have Bradys longevity. Brady ain't throwing that many passes while getting folded in half.

Tom plays the game mentally on a whole couple other levels than anybody else.

Now that said people shouldn't undersell his physical abilities.  He has never been that fleet of foot but when he wants to, needs to the guy has a cannon of an arm still.  Back to the first point though he seems to instinctively know when he can shoot a .22 and when he needs to bring out the chain gun.  He does not waste motion or energy on the field or on the sideline for that matter.  It's fascinating to watch

Simply the best. Goat! Tom! Think about the FA acquisitions and the role they played in tonite’s game. The Tampa Bay organization bought in and allowed Tom to impose his will on this team and it worked. Only other athlete in a team sport I can think of is Lebron when it comes to that. Let’s face it Tom could go to another team in 2021 and probably pull this off.

Winning a superbowl is hard. But Tom Brady doesn't know that.

Done what he can with the Bucs. Time to go to Cleveland.

Why not Detroit? They have never even been there. Would be badass to watch. When he does retire Brady should consider coaching. Jmo.

Retire?  We aren't talking about Peyton Manning here.  Brady has 5 more years left. At least.  I'd like to see a Houston title. But Brady isn't going to go to an organization that shitty.  Detroit. Closer but not seeing it.  People act like TB was dogshit before, but that WR corps may be the best Brady has ever played with. While he could be the best hired hand ever, not everyone is ready for his services.

Except LeBron has 4 in 10 tries to Brady's 7. In a sport where it's much easier to win multiple titles. LeBron has many peers when it comes to winning. Brady has zero and it's not even close.

Couple other points - I said "many" - it's more like 3ish. I'm not trying to knock LeBron. He's incredible, too. Brady is just in a different league.

It would be fun to watch, but he would have to live somewhere near Detroit to play there.

Of course with his money, and the $1000 houses (if they still have them), he could basically buy a large percentage of Detroit.  Then raze the houses, build a moat, hire a ton of security, and design someplace safe to live.  He would just have to have all his supplies helicoptered in.

Nah - still not worth it.

Just never seen anyone like this. Watching the NFL network and other postgame shows and it’s clear that the entire team bought in. On Brady. The head coach admitted as much. DC called a tremendous game. Just listening to Gronk talk about how he was just waiting on Brady. That’s crazy. Or Fournette was like, “Brady is like your dad. He tells you to do something and you do it.” When I mentioned Lebron it’s not because I think he’s remotely close in terms of team like ability. I just meant the team gave Tom the reigns. Let him roll. And only other player I can think of that had that type of control was Lebron. But still it’s not even close. I’m talking out my ass.

Detroit is underrated as a place. I like it better than Boston personally. It has both a heart and an edge. And Detroit is cold, but Boston is the coldest place in the United States where people actually live.

Brady lives on 23rd street in Manhattan. If he is going to dig deep, may as well do it for the Jets.

2 lucky Eli passes from having 9
And a tuck rule adding one. And oh a 48 yard FG in the snow. And another QB finishing the AFC championship game. And the defense scoring as many TDs as the offense in the SB finished off with another long FG. Good thing it wasn't Scott Norwood on his side.

Then there's the run it in from the 1 Seahawks Super Bowl. But they did have a fluke pass and catch to even get the Seahawks in range.

And the let's score a whole 13 points versus the Rams Super Bowl. Lowest point total in super bowl history to win the game.

He did lead that comeback vs the Falcons. Part competence; part incompetence.

And in those Eli games, why don't you score more than 17 and 14 points. Let's say Eli doesn't get lucky one of those games. That victory at 14 points is the lowest winning point total since 1975 (excluding beating the Rams of course).

Odd tonight was the most lopsided of them all.

Team game much.

To be fair, at one time both the Patriots and the Bucs were included in that group. And that dogshit or champion group is actually better than another group.

The often capable but can't get over the hump group.  The Oilers. Bills. Vikings.  To a lesser extent the Bengals and Texans. Making the playoffs means shit in the end.

All that negativity will just burn you up man. It’s just a game and Brady seems to do a fairly good job of winning regularly at it.

I think this man was going to get to 6 or 7 no matter where you put him or what happened outside his control. Had he lost in any of those years he probably just finds another year to win it. I mean, saying he should have 2 more is obviously silly since he's had some huge luck and breaks go his way, but I really think if he loses in 2004 or 2016 or whenever then he just finds a way to get his team over the hump in 2005 or 2017.

Didn't read the thread and I fucking despised Brady being a Ravens fan. Thought he would fail leaving NE. Dude is a monster and deserves everything he has and honestly even more money that NE paid him. Anyone stating otherwise is a moron. He proved it

Even though his wife is worth more, he routinely took pay cuts to make sure as a Patriot they would have a team that could win. I have nothing but respect for that. He is just a winner. And I don’t see why the hate towards him. At this point he could go anywhere and he’d get free agents to follow. Case in point, the scores tonite didn’t come from their drafted players. Gronk, Brown and Fournette were not on the team until Brady showed up.

Looked at that list.  Brady has as many Super Bowl rings as the Dolphins and Cowboys combined!  Of course he is the GOAT in football, and now the question can be asked if he is the GOAT in all team sports.  Basketball has Russell.  What 9 rings out of 11 years?  He lost in the finals once I think? So in terms of winning championships he is slightly better than Brady.  But you could say there was no free agency in basketball in the 1960s.  Jordan, 6 and 0.  Brady can't beat that winning percentage wise.

I think it is safe to say that Brady, Jordan and Russell are the top three in terms of winning championships.  Of those, Brady is the only one to win with more than one team.  I suppose you could say that with the analysis above, Brady has won 7 seven championships with three different teams, considering all of the turnover in roster personnel.  If you agree to that idea, then I think Brady is the GOAT in all team sports.

I am sure someone will come up with a way to measure the amount of roster turnover for the three athletes and their teams.

Watching the game tonight, seeing the super tight spirals and thinking of how the NFL treasures QB play, I feel comfortable saying Tom has 2 more years left at a super high level.  If he is able to inspire teammates to buy-in during the next two years, I don't see why he can't win at least one more ring.

That would be 8.
