I bet that SC doesn't fire Helton this year, but their OC gets canned.

Tee Martin is a recruiting witch. I bet they pull him off play calling duties and give some BS some associate head coach/WR coach title.

We should money whip them for LB Coach Johnny Nansen when Orlando eventually moves on and Naivar moves up. Nansen has actual strong Polynesian ties. Not some made up EJ BS/trolling material.

easy, mom.

When that mom in the DP commercial starts talking about experimenting in college, I start thinking that she was easy to DP in college. (And I just get quiet and start daydreaming.)

Not sure I follow his thinking here.  TT traditionally in the Kingsbury era has been a much tougher QB depth chart than the one in Austin (Mahomes, Davis Webb, Mayfield).  Plus as mentioned, a pretty good looking freshman QB starting now as well as a pretty athletic soph in Duffey waiting for a chance to play, and Maverick McIvor arriving in Dec.

UT has recruited well at QB as of late and as a TT fan I'd love to have him, but I just don't  see it happening.

God I hope so. If we win that game shit starts getting real around here. Meaning guys like Wilson start considering a flip. This is my opinion.

He's going to tOSU, you heard it here 1,856,051st

he is probably next years rondale moore, would love to have him based on how incredible an athelete he is, but he bit into the papa johns

He's not that kind of athlete. He's a solid route running, average height WR with really good ball skills. How much better can he get? OSU gets to find out.

I’ve never seen a prospect who can change directions like Rondale Moore.   I’m trying to think of any player at any level who looks like they are controlled by a joystick.   Help me out here cause I got nuthin

TFB suggests this guy could be our next JUCO target if Caleb Johnson doesn't come here: https://247sports.com/player/victor-viramontes-81179/

He’s got pretty good instincts for the ball, and can read the qb pretty well.  However, the little bunny hops/skips he likes to do at the beginning of each play will get him burned in the Big XII.

Anyone got this?

He plans on committing within the next month. His OV to Texas for the WVU game is his only planned visit so far.

TFB still thinks it comes down to whether he gets into Stanford or not.

So he’ll get in. I feel like our prospects always get in

The kids seemed to like it when Summy did it. Plus it’s an efficient way to get to multiple games. I don’t like that aggy did it first, but I’m cool with it.

Interesting prospect - he was a 3 star dual threat QB committed to Cal, then went to JUCO and put up good numbers there. I guess he went to Minnesota and then would up back in JUCO where he made the switch to LB full time at JUCO. He definitely looks like he has the speed and athleticism to be a good one, but I have to wonder how much more coaching and development time he'll need.

Here's some of his LB highlights: https://www.hudl.com/video/3/4042376/5b968d903deaa508885ee8c2

I think it's also worth watching his QB film - he'll never play big time football at that position, but it definitely shows off how athletic/fast he is. Not a scout or anything, obviously, but he definitely looks like he's got some potential.

Am I the only one on the board who thinks the Bevocopter thing is kinda lame?  We're essentially copying Rumlin with that one aren't we?

It's fast and the kids like it and beyond that who gives a shit?

What am I missing with Caleb Johnson? Why is Oregon such a game changer?

They're his "dream school", for whatever reason. Maybe he likes shiny helmets?

Lots of people saying that he grew up a huge Oregon fan and that an offer from them would be a "game changer." I'm sure we aren't conceding anything and he's definitely a take, but I think getting him on board just got harder. Not saying the staff can't pull it off (and they very well might) - just that it got a little harder.

He liked them out of high school. And now a bunch of handwringing pussies on this board have written him off because of that and corroborating lamentations from $9.95ers.

TFB Open Post: https://texas.thefootballbrainiacs.com/2018/10/open-post-monday-october-22nd/

Stan Drayton Visited RB Trio This Past Weekend
– Andrew King

As we’ve reported, the Texas staff is on the road this weekend. One visit I wanted to note was Texas RB coach Stan Drayton checking out Texas’ top 3 RB targets in the 2019 and 2020 class.

Drayton and Tom Herman went to see North Shore (TX) 5-star ’20 RB Zachary Evans. Drayton will also be in Florida tomorrow to check out IMG Academy (FL) RB’s Trey Sanders and Noah Cain.

We will look to catch up with the trio this week to bring you the latest on their thoughts about Texas.

Caleb Johnson Picks up Oregon Offer
– Super K

A couple weeks back when I stopped by JUCO LB, Caleb Johnson’s practice he mentioned the possibility of Oregon offering.

He also mentioned that he grew up liking Oregon and if they offered they’d immediately be a contender.

It looks like that offer has happened…

Checked in with Caleb just now and he has already scheduled his Oregon official visit for November 17th when the Ducks face Arizona State.

I suspect a final decision will come shortly thereafter. Caleb loved his Texas visit so Texas may feel they can still win here.

If they start to feel less and less certain, I’d look for Texas to make a possible move on JUCO LB, Vic Viramontes.

TFB also had a blurb on Marcel Brooks, but for reasons discussed on this board it's largely worthless to even bother reading. Baizer also popped up on the donor side of TFB to say that Brooks isn't a take for this staff.

Oregon is recruiting lights out and I'm not sure if it's a lock that they'll even have room, so I'm wondering if this might be a "stay in it" offer for Caleb

Damn you aren't lying. I hadn't really paid any attention to them, and I mosey'd on over to their commit list. They have some really, really nice top end talent.

Cristobal has always been a recruiting witch, wherever he's gone. Dude knows how to play the game.
