re: WR Numbers

Spoiler

Nahlin: CJ and Brandon are likely to return. Very likely. LJH is a coin flip that depends on his draft grade.

Random:

Spoiler

Q: Mods, how does Floyd compare to Jefferson?

Wells: DGF isn’t the freak athlete Malik is, but better instincts.

/

Nahlin on Whittington: He simply prefers WR and is good enough to stay there. He IS a 5-star safety if wants to be.

and: He’s a better Brandon Jones as a safety.

TFB Open Post: https://texas.thefootballbrainiacs.com/2018/11/open-post-weekend-november-30th-december-2nd/

Quick Hitters | Running Back Recruiting
– Andrew King

Texas holds one running back commitment in the 2019 class, from Buford (GA) Derrian Brown. The Longhorn staff would like to take more than one running back in this class. And there are three main names to know.

IMG Academy (FL) Trey Sanders

Sanders is the crown jewel at running back in the 2019 class. He took an official visit to Alabama over the weekend, and most see them as the leader for Sanders. Texas has given Sanders a lot to think about, but most say his parents prefer Alabama. It’s hard not to see why, and it sounds like that is still the case following his visit to Tuscaloosa over the weekend. The top three for Sanders looks like Alabama, Texas, and Florida. Texas could be running second right now, but I’m not sure it’s going to matter in the end.

IMG Academy (FL) Noah Cain

Next is Cain’s high school teammate in Noah Cain, who is originally from Baton Rouge Louisiana but lived in Texas for years following Hurricane Katrina. It seemed like LSU was the favorite for Cain for some time until the Tigers flipped 5-star running back John Emery Jr from Georgia. That move seemed to put Texas in the pole position for Cain. The one thing that keeps coming up with Texas and Cain is that it seems to be the “most logical decision for him”. Penn State, Ohio State, and Auburn looked like the other challengers for Texas, but another school has jumped in the race and they have a pretty good track record with running backs. Cain took an official visit to Georgia over the weekend. No school has a better track record with using two backs like Georgia. With Nick Chubb and Sony Michel and now D’Andre Swift and Elijah Holyfield, who are both approaching 1,000 rushing yards each for 2018. They could be Texas’ biggest challenger for Cain moving forward.

Cerritos College (CA) RB Rhamondre Stevenson

This is a guy I’m not particularly up to speed on, but the following post by Super K will bring you up to speed. He picked up a Texas offer only five days ago. Both Texas and Oklahoma are going after this guy pretty hard right now. He’s a guy that can make you miss and can be an instant impact guy.

MY TAKE: I really think Texas could take three running backs in 2019. With the likely trio being Cain/Brown/Stevenson. Here’s my thinking behind it. Texas currently has six scholarship running back on campus right now. Tre Watson is gone after this year, Kyle Porter wanted to redshirt this year, which makes me think he could be gone as well. Toneil Carter and Daniel Young have played very little in 2018, so they could be wanting a fresh start to see more playing time. And Kirk Johnson will likely never make an impact at running back at Texas. So that leaves Keaontay Ingram as the only sure thing at running back at Texas for 2019.

Rhamondre Stevenson to Visit Texas
– Super K

In case you missed it, Texas recently offered JUCO RB, Rhamondre Stevenson (Cerritos College).

With the Sooners having offered a couple weeks ago we had already begun doing some research on Stevenson. Everyone I spoke with out in California raved about Stevenson. I had multiple people including JUCO head coach who faced Stevenson tell me that he’s not only the best JUCO back in California but can also absolutely play at this level.

He’s a big back but also has breakaway speed and exceptional COD for a guy his size.

Based on his offer sheet, I’d imagine this one will end up coming down to Texas and OU.

Although OU extended an offer first, Texas has actually been recruiting Stevenson for a longer period of time. Coach Drayton has been in touch with Stevenson for a while now.

Rhamondre tells me that he will absolutely take an official visit to Texas but says no date has been set yet. Also of note here, Stevenson is a May grad.

Should Noah Cain commit to Texas, the question we will be hoping to answer for you all is whether Texas will be in a position to take Brown, Cane, and Stevenson.

In my estimation, it would be a good idea to do so. You add a back to replace Tre Watson but in some ways, you’re getting an upgraded skill set to go along with what is becoming a physical offensive line.

2019 Offensive Tackle Isaiah Hookfin | Sets Official Visits
– Charlie S

Isaiah Hookfin has been tweeting out his official visits and obviously, Texas will get one.

Texas will be his last official visit following stops at Baylor and Minnesota.

While we are confident where Texas stands in his recruitment, I would not go as far as to say this is a lock right now.

Bru McCoy Update | Reaction To Kingsbury Hire
– Charlie S

Super K has been out of the country but I was able to talk with him briefly regarding the Bru McCoy situation. Here is what he had to say:

*** Prior to the Hire, K’s sources told him that with Helton staying, it was going to make it that much more difficult for Texas to pull Bru McCoy

*** One of his sources added that as long as Helton didn’t screw up the Offensive Coordinator hire, USC was going to be very tough to beat.

*** It has been widely reported that USC is finalizing a deal with former Texas Tech Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury and K exchanged a few messages with McCoy’s father.

*** As you would probably expect to hear, they were very pleased with the hire.

*** This was always going to be a tough one with McCoy being close with JT Daniels and Amon Ra who are very happy at USC and with Clay Helton

** Along with the players, McCoy’s family really does think highly of Helton.

This one continues to trend toward USC. Texas is still in it to a degree, but if you haven’t already, you need to start preparing yourself.

I think you only take two, and add a grad transfer if you're still concerned about depth. 2020 is one of the most loaded RB classes you'll ever see, both regionally and nationally, and I'd save room to try and take advantage of that.

Agree, I doubt we will take 3, and I don't believe Cain wants to be a part of a 3 back class anyway. Those two plus Jake Smith should give you all the depth you need next year. Danny Young isn't going anywhere either and I would expect the depth chart to be Ingram, Cain, Young, with Brown redshirting.

How many quality RBs will be available as grad transfers? It always seems like grad transfers are a big crap shoot. There always seems to be a lot of QBs for obvious reasons, but even those seem to be mostly projects with one or two 'can't miss' types. OL seems to have their fair share as well since teams carry so many of them on their rosters. Since we haven't really done the grad transfer game much, I don't even know what is likely in most years.

Grad transfer running backs don’t exactly grow on trees.

I get that a difference maker might not be available, but I don't think taking three 2019 RBs is the answer

His Sparq numbers looked okay. I wonder if they have improved. http://www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/combine/_/id/209241/rhamondre-stevenson

It looks like someone ran the 20yd shuttle in 46 seconds - pretty impressive.

While we did well this season with Ingram and Watson, they were both banged up and the run game could have been much better. RBs are bound to take punishment, no idea if Toneil will be back or if D. Young will stop putting the ball on the ground, and we want our QB to run less. I'm fine with taking 3 RBs.

OB War Room:

Anwar:

--- As recruiting heats up prior to the first signing day, I learned the two biggest priorities are offensive line and linebacker.

Here is a list of guys to keep an eye on:

JUCO LB Caleb Johnson out of Cali. Pretty much down to Texas and Oregon. Has already visited Texas, taking his Oregon official visit this weekend.

LB Vic Viramontes, Riverside City College. He finished with 66 tackles last season and is on the radar. A former QB, Viramontes transferred from Riverside C.C. to Minnesota before transferring back to Riverside, where he's excelled as a LB.

OL Isaiah Hookfin
Recent offer, Texas leads. Committing in December.

OL Myron Cunningham
Has already visited OU. Visits Arkansas next week. Told Suchomel he plans to visit Texas also and will decide in December

OL Andrew Coker
Committed to TCU. TCU did in-home visit on Wednesday. Has told me he'll visit Texas, just a matter of Texas getting that one locked in.

--- After Texas plays in the Big 12 Championship Game, Longhorn coaches will hit the recruiting road.

I asked Herman to break down what life in Austin will look like with his coaches on the road, and he gave a detailed answer.

“This early signing period is crazy because the teams that are playing in the championship games, we miss one-third of the recruiting before signing day,” Herman said. “We’ll hit the road. The players will have Monday through Thursday off, in terms of on-the-field. They’ll lift Monday, Wednesday and Friday. This is the last week of classes, so, there will be a big study hall, tutor, learning specialist week. Then we’ll have a coordinator practice on Friday. Get all the guys back off the road on Friday night. Host official visits.

“Then we’ll practice in the morning in front of all our official visitors, and carry on with the official visit weekend.”

--- I spent Thursday afternoon speaking to multiple bowl representatives, and reached one conclusion.

Right now, nobody has a clue which team might play in their bowl game.

It was really quite funny to discuss the different bowl possibilities. There are so many scenarios, it reminds you of those old Choose Your Own Adventure books. At the end of the day, Texas will play in a pretty good bowl game.

Texas’ strongest possibilities are the Sugar Bowl (January 1), Fiesta Bowl (January 1), Peach Bowl (December 29) or Alamo Bowl (December 28). Simply put, if Texas defeats Oklahoma, it will play in the Sugar Bowl. If Oklahoma wins and advances to the college football playoffs, Texas will likely play in the Sugar Bowl.

However, if Texas does not win, or Oklahoma misses the playoffs, anything could happen.

From my conversations, I am not convinced the Fiesta Bowl or Peach Bowl would take a four-loss Texas team, especially if the Longhorns slide down the CFP rankings. If Texas is not in the Sugar Bowl, this team might play in the Alamo Bowl. It will be hard for the Alamo Bowl to pass on a nine-win Texas team.

The best-case scenario, for Texas, is beating Oklahoma and securing a Sugar Bowl bid.

If that does not occur, we will know which bowl game takes Texas on Sunday.

(From Suchomel)

With the Texas coaches paring for the Big 12 Championship game on Saturday, it hasn’t been an incredibly active week on the recruiting front (that’ll change next week/weekend when the coaches hit the road and the Longhorns host some official visitors). I figured this would be a good time to take an overall look at UT’s commitments and top remaining targets:

QUARTERBACK

Roschon Johnson (committed) – Not much new here … Johnson is leading his team on a successful playoff run, he’s putting up big numbers and he’s locked into his Texas commitment. He and PN-G will square off against Fort Bend Marshall and 2020 QB Malik Hornsby on Friday night.

RUNNING BACK

Derrian Brown (committed) – The Buford (GA) standout’s senior season recently came to an end. He has been and continues to be rock solid with his Texas commitment.

Noah Cain – All eyes are on the IMG Academy standout as he heads towards the finish line. Last week, I felt like Texas had a decent lead over Penn State. Georgia really impressed Cain and his family last week which has kind of muddied the waters a bit. I still slightly favor Texas (so much about Cain to UT makes sense) but this one is still undecided. Expect Texas to see Cain and his family next week, and we’ll have to wait to see if Cain takes his fifth and final visit.

Trey Sanders – The Longhorns have done a great job on this one, including blowing Sanders away on his visit back in September, but I’ve always thought that Bama and Florida would be tough to beat the long this one went on. I still feel that way.

DJ Williams – He’s visited Auburn and Miami. He’ll visit Georgia on December 14. Williams told us a couple weeks ago he’d likely be in Austin on December 7, but told another Rivals reporter this week that he’s undecided on a visit for that date. If he does make it into Austin, you have to figure Texas will make a strong impression but right now the smart money might be on Miami.

Rhamondre Stevenson – A new name to the mix, Stevenson told OB this week that he plan on visiting Texas, Oklahoma and Utah. He doesn’t plan on making any sort of decision until February, so there’s time for Texas to see what happens with its other targets before turning up the heat on this one.

WIDE RECEIVER

Jordan Whittington (committed) – Nothing to see here. Whittington and Cuero are mowing down playoff opponents and he’ll be enrolling at Texas in January.

Jake Smith (committed) – Smith is locked in with his Texas commitment. He and his team play for a state title this weekend.

Marcus Washington (committed ) – He’s a man of few words but based on his and his family’s social media presence, Washington is locked in.

Peyton Powell (committed) – There’s been some scuttlebutt that Powell might take another visit or two (more on that in a bit), but I’m expecting him to stick.

Demariyon Houston (committed) – Houston has always been a guy to watch for the possibility of other visits, so we’ll keep an eye on this one down the stretch (more on him in a bit as well).

Bru McCoy –Some have felt like UT has had the lead. USC people believe he’s been locked in for a while. I’m somewhere in the middle. I don't think he's locked in to stay in state, but have felt Texas needed to find a way to close the gap, especially with USC still having its official visit remaining. If USC officially hires Kliff Kingsbury, that’s not going to help UT’s chances. I still think this one is leaning USC’s way.

Elijah Higgins – It’s been pretty quiet with the Austin Bowie standout. Florida was in-home last night. Stanford will be in next week (Texas likely as well). Higgins doesn’t have a firm date for a decision so this one’s tough to predict, but it does feel like UT is still playing catch-up.

Kennedy Lewis – It’ll be interesting to see if things heat up here if Texas has numbers later in the process. If they do, the Longhorns would have a great shot at landing him.

TIGHT END

Brayden Liebrock (committed) – There were random rumors recently that Liebrock might be looking around, but that’s simply not true. He’s locked in.

Jared Wiley (committed) – He’s rock-solid as well. Willey will take his Texas official visit on December 14.

OFFENSIVE LINE

Tyler Johnson (committed) – Johnson doesn’t say much at all, but he’s never given any indication he’s even remotely interested in any other schools.

Javonne Shepherd (committed) – Shepherd was in Austin this week, which is a big step in the right direction for Texas. Don’t be surprised to see him take other visits, but I expect him to stick with his Texas pledge.

Isaiah Hookfin – He’ll be in Austin on December 14 for his official visit and Hookfin plans to have a decision in the days after that trip. The Longhorns look to be in a great spot here.

Myron Cunningham – He’s already taken an official visit to Oklahoma. He’ll be at Arkansas next weekend. Cunningham has told me he’ll decide in December, so that would only leave the December 14 weekend open for a possible visit (unless he came in midweek). I’ve got a message into him to see if he’s made any progress towards locking in a UT visit.

Andrew Coker – He’s still committed to TCU and the Horned Frogs did an in-home visit on Wednesday night. Don’t be surprised to see Texas make a stop to see Coker early next week, and if the staff does that and can get him in for a visit, this one will be trending UT’s way. We should have a much better handle on this one in the next week or so.

DEFENSIVE LINE

T'Vondre Sweat (committed) – He’s been committed forever, and he’s said repeatedly that he’s not interested in anyone else.

Peter Mpagi (committed) – He’s locked in and will enroll at Texas early.

Myron Warren (committed) – He gave Texas a recent commitment and told OB that he’s sticking with Texas no matter what happens with other schools. This still feels like it could be one to watch if LSU winds up offering, but Texas did a great job to get him in the fold so quickly.

Jacoby Jones (committed) – Jones will enroll in January and is coming in with the mindset that he’ll be able to contribute right away.

LINEBACKER

De'Gabriel Floyd (committed) – This guy may be more dialed in than any person on the Texas commitment list.

Marcus Tillman (committed) – There was a time when Tillman told OB he was slightly considering taking a couple other visits, but that no longer appears to be the case. He’ll graduate this month and enroll in January.

David Gbenda (committed) – He’s been weirdly quiet of late, but no need to worry here. He’s been solid with his decision.

Caleb Johnson – He’s told OB Texas is still the team to beat, but with an Oregon visit coming up this weekend, we’ll be watching this one very closely. Look for Texas to get out to see him early next week to try to crush any momentum Oregon could possibly build. Tough one to call, but Texas is still in the lead as of right now.

DEFENSIVE BACKS

Kenyatta Watson (committed) – There was some talk recently that Watson might take another visit or two, but in talking to people close to him they’ve never actually scheduled anything and Watson seems very happy with his decision.

Chris Adimora (committed) – He has talked about taking other visits but every time I’ve talked to Adimora, he’s basically said he couldn’t even think of a way another school could pry him away from Texas. I wouldn’t worry about this one, but it is worth watching. Adimora has gone quiet on me of late, so it’s been tough to really pinpoint what he’s thinking. I’ll continue to work on that. He does still have his Texas OV so I’d be shocked if anything really happened here.

Marques Caldwell (committed) – He’s still on the mend from a torn labrum, but there’s nothing really new to report from a recruiting perspective.

Tyler Owens (committed) – There’s been discussions about the possibility of him taking some other visits, but with the way his offer/commitment went down, I just don’t think it matters. Even if Owens did hit another campus or two, I can’t see him not coming back to Texas.

Jalen Catalon – Arkansas insiders feel like he’s completely locked in, but Catalon will visit Texas on the weekend of December 14, so there’s clearly still a strong interest in the Longhorns. Can UT win him and his family over enough to get Texas over the hump? We’ll see, but don’t close the door on this one just yet.

******

As always is the case this time of the year, recruiting rumors are going to pop up at a fast and furious pace.

Earlier this week, reports surfaced elsewhere that Oklahoma was giving Texas wide receiver commitment Demariyon Houston a close look and there’s been speculation that the Sooners could even be close to extending an offer.

I did some checking on Thursday, and here’s what I can tell you ... Oklahoma hasn’t made any sort of move on Houston yet and if the Sooner coaches are going to turn up the heat, people close to Houston haven’t been told of any renewed interest on OU’s behalf.

I was told this week that Houston remains locked in with his Texas commitment and has been saying and doing all the right things this week in terms of wearing UT gear and his conversations about his Texas pledge.

Houston’s teammate at Oklahoma City Millwood, Marcus Major, is committed to Oklahoma, so it stands to reason that the OU staff will be by the school in the near future. And Houston’s a talented enough prospect that other schools have continued to recruit him ever since he committed to Texas back in July.

Bottom line … recruiting can always change in a hurry, but I’m told as of right now, Houston is still very much pro-Texas and excited about his UT commitment. Houston does still have his Texas official visit to take as well.

******

There are reports that Texas commitment Peyton Powell could take an official visit to Baylor along with his Odessa Permian teammate Landon Peterson. Powell’s normally pretty easy for me to track down, but he’s been quiet this week so I’m still working to gather details/confirmation.

It is worth nothing that Powell did tell us after he committed to Texas he probably wouldn’t sign until February because he wanted to enjoy the process some. But he was also supposed to visit Texas Tech shortly after committing to Texas (per Tech people) but that visit never happened. And just prior to committing to UT in late October, Baylor wasn’t one of the schools Powell told OB was in his top five. We’ll keep an eye on this one to see if (a) the visit happens and (b) there’s anything to be concerned with, but I’d be mildly surprised to see Powell wind up signing with anyone other than Texas.

IT

T-minus 24 hours and counting until the Death Star launches.

TEAM

It isn't a week the team needed outside motivation, but it has been presented in the form of all Big 12 Conference snubs and a consensus feeling outside the program that OU is going to win. In the day and age of social media, of course outside noise filters in.

This culminated in a great week of practice. "It was a great week, just like before Iowa State. Tuesday was very physical. Poor scout team, they got beat up like they want to beat up OU. Lots of energy this week, as you'd expect."

This is a pretty confident bunch, but not over-confident.
"They learned some valuable lessons this season. The first game taught them a lot; they can beat OU, and they can lose to OU. They understand how dangerous they are. But winning that game gives them all the confidence they need. They're especially confident in their toughness. Beat them up and points will follow."

Injuries are and aren't a question heading into the game. How is Sam?
"It's the same with him. The staff has done what they can to put him on a pitch count and limit his throwing but all it takes is one unfortunate hit to re-aggravate it to the point that throwing is nearly impossible. They've limited him as much as they can within reason. They know he's going to have to throw the ball around. I expect Sam to have a big game. He never needs motivation, but I think it's pretty clear how bad he wants to hold another one over Murray."

Brandon Jones has been another one fans have worried about. How is he?
"He's the best he's been since re-injuring his ankle weeks ago. He looks fine, normal. The worst part is the chiding he took for suffering that big hit on punt return."

It seemed like the defense really suffered versus Oklahoma State and West Virginia with him out. Is it that simple?
"I don't think so, but that didn't help. That defense was just unprepared. The players thought they could just show up and play. That was another valuable lesson they learned this season. The level of focus needed has been restored."

Realistically how good can the defense play this week?
"Their expectations are very high, but I don't know if they're realistic. They think they're ready to play their best game of the season and are very confident they're going to play better than they did in the first meeting. This defense is much more comfortable with the game plan the second go around. OU's offense doesn't have near the room for improvement the Texas defense does. I think some ground has been made up."

How different are the game plans from the first tilt?
"Not much, but there are certainly some wrinkles. There's some stuff on offense they'll go to in the right situation to pull out all the stops. On defense there's a blitz package or two OU hasn't seen this season. Of course there are plans to defend Kyler as a runner in different ways if needed. They certainly want to get hits on him."

We know physicality is a clear advantage for Texas, what are some others?
"The staff feels confident in the Texas o-line versus OU's defensive line. Basically they like UT's chances to run the ball with a healthy tandem of Watson and Ingram. There's always Ehlinger too. Yards after contact is a big advantage, whether it's a running back or receiver, they're available. Just be physical."

What's the key to the game. What was worked on a lot this week?
"Containing Kyler. Containment was worked on non-stop from the varying defensive looks to ensure everyone knows their assignment. They need to limit his big plays, keep him in the pocket, and get some blitzes home. He'll make mistakes if that happens. I'm expecting a big game from the defensive line. Roach at nose is something they didn't see the first time. Omenihu is playing well and highly motivated. He's always motivated but this type of stage will have a lot NFL people watching. Of course Breckyn wants a haircut."

How does Texas lose this game?
"The team knows it's possible that Kyler can put them away if they don't do their job. I think everyone knows that's possible. That offense is amazing, but that just helps them focus and relish the opportunity. Because of OU's offense there isn't much margin for error on either side of the ball. If the team plays like it did in the losses or even some of the wins it isn't good enough. If they play their A game they're going to win."

NCAA TRANSFER PORTAL

Texas had its first name appear in the new NCAA transfer portal this week. If you've read the tea leaves and depth charts, it shouldn't be difficult to decipher who it is. But it wouldn't be cool to release the name because there's a chance if he didn't like what potential new programs were selling him, he can actually return to school. We've heard these kids can actually visit schools, then withdraw their name if they don't think they'll find a better situation. It's something we are monitoring daily.

RECRUITING

As we reported in the Scoop and Tuesday recruiting notes, expect the staff to be on the road no less than 24 hours after the game in Arlington. Guys we're hearing that'll receiver early visits include wide receiver Bru McCoy, running back Noah Cain, cornerback Kenyatta Watson II, and linebacker Caleb Johnson.

Quickly on Kenyatta Watson, we hear that recruitment is done and good to go. Any miscommunication has been repaired and the elite athlete will sign during the early period. This next visit will only reaffirm that.

The visit to Juco linebacker Caleb Johnson will be a big one for the staff. They'll need to read where his head is at after his visit to Oregon. We caught up with him this week and he's excited for the visit, but he's also going up there on business to see if Ducks defensive coordinator Jim Leavitt will remain. Johnson's recruiter is co-defensive coordinator/safeties coach Keith Heyward, so even if Leavitt took a job elsewhere it might not affect Johnson all that much, unless Leavitt took Heyward with him. If the staff gets a bad feel for Johnson they could make the short trip to see fellow Juco Vic Viramontes. Viramontes is blowing up recently, and may net an LSU offer soon. The staff may also elect to keep digging for a Juco through NSD2.

Hopefully Gary Johnson has a career game this week and Johnson takes note.

This is interesting: We've heard that Georgia is making a quiet, credible push for Trey Sanders. Florida is doing the same. Alabama may not actually lead right now. If you're one of those with your head buried in the sand, this is just another hard-fought SEC recruitment. If you're breathing fresh air, you'll know that anyone who has worked for Saban knows how it has to compete with Saban. We want Sanders at Georgia because that helps Texas with Noah Cain. Someone is going to have to bowl a perfect game to come up with Sanders.

Here's some good news. It sounds like offensive line commit Tyler Johnson is going to enroll early. Now you can factor him in to the two deep as a true freshman. They're going to throw him into the fire and see what's forged next August. The staff isn't sure if he's a guard or right tackle yet. I could see him initially at guard between a junior Derek Kerstetter and senior Zach Shackelford, with Imade on the left side. We'll see, long way to go, but this is an exciting development. Johnson's senior tape shows a great athlete for the position with him playing more pissed off than a year prior. That can help overcome technical flaws.

I caught up with a source on Texas wide receiver commit Demariyon Houston. He says OU hasn't been in contact with Houston and that Houston still plans on signing in February. In February? "That's always been his plan." We'll see if the staff asks him to sign early or not.

There is some 'save the ship' potential to finish this cycle to the benefit of the next one.

Herman mentioned what we've been saying for a while now; a Big 12 Championship doesn't do much for 2019 but helps a lot with the class of 2020. Go get that win, fellas.

IT comment:  "There is some 'save the ship' potential to finish this cycle to the benefit of the next one."

1) What positions are heavier in Elite Talent for 2020 vs 2019?

2) What positions have better depth in Quality Talent for 2020 vs 2019??

DL is better.  As others have said RB is deep.  TE's and LB's are non-existent in-state for 2020.

His Sparq numbers looked okay. I wonder if they have improved. http://www.espn.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/combine/_/id/209241/rhamondre-stevenson

It looks like someone ran the 20yd shuttle in 46 seconds - pretty impressive.

That 4086 second 40 yard dash is even more impressive.  The guy that stood there with a stop watch for over an hour has more patience than me.
