Is there a need to make homophobic slurs?  It sounds a little Aggy.  I mean, Baylor is Rape U.  It's not only pejorative but also false.

greetings n00b, faget is not the same as faggot. One is meant as a homphobic slur, the other is your run of the mill equivalent to a douchebag or asshat.

I get your point. My point (intention, anyway) was that we should not be projecting failure upon a kid, as some have.

Projecting success isn't much better for a teenager. We should probably just let it play out, but that's not what this thread is. It's about planting your flag on a hot take and hoping to revisit it in four years (assuming no scat porn) to proclaim yourself king of the morons.

IT Notes:

Spoiler

Bru McCoy: He could hold off signing, or he could sign later today. At least that's the word I've received. I don't believe he's signed. The play here if he wants things to be kept quiet is to not sign. My most recent intel has me thinking it would be beneficial for Texas if he didn't sign today. The crazy thing here is I feel like the mom is fully on board with Texas. It's almost like Stanford getting Sara Little on board.

Javonne Shepherd: I know many of you are over this one. I'm with you, but have to keep plugging away. Texas is working like crazy to get him. Initially the plan was to wait for NSD2 to sign but Texas went all in to get him in the class on Wednesday. They felt it would benefit him to be able to send him the workouts, meal planning, and playbook. A&M tried to get him too. Shepherd will visit College Station on 1/10, and then he's going to....wait for this...Alabama. I don't *think* he'll go far from home but Alabama is persuasive when they want someone. A&M thinks they're going to flip him. Neither UT or A&M want him anywhere near Tuscaloosa.

the new info here is:

So the big "lie" was Herman telling IH that Rhule may take a better job if/when it is offered?

Isn't that implicit? I mean, he coaches at Baylor.

Sounds like the two "lies" were:

1) Baylor may still be subject to sanctions (completely plausible considering the investigation is still open), and

2) Rhule would take a better job if offered (true for damn near every coach ever)

there was some new info on this recently (last 2-3 weeks, right?)

IIRC, Rhule was linked to a job with the Indianapolis Colts this past off season.

But how can you be sure if you have not personally given him an examination?

TFloss on more OL targets

Coach Hand started following OL grad transfer Justin Murphy from UCLA.

He went to Belton and signed with Texas Tech in 2014.

24/7 claims he's definitely on the staff's radar.

/

24/7 saying another OL name to watch is Cam'Ron Johnson of Pearland Shadow Creek.

He recently de-committed from Colorado and won't be signing until February.

The last Colorado OL decommit was Elijah Rodriguez. He turned into decent depth, so

I’ve made 2 posts on the same subject in the last week.  I don’t post in recruiting much, so I guess technically that is correct.

I don’t think they are stellar. I think they are good enough that if Bama trips they could make some noise, if everything fell in place.  And I think the bag hag and Jimbo are dirty af.  I’ve also met personally 2 men in the last 6 months (1 with good $$, 1 with fuck you $$$) that both claim they’ve put out $$ to kids. These guys are tired of not winning. We all remember Cam Newton?  So yeah, it’s bullshit seeing shit like FWK and Shepard. The NCAA isn’t going to do shit to any program larger than Baylor, or even them really.  That ship has sailed

Unfortunately, they are going to have to beat Bama 2-3 times in rapid succession for them to get a shot over the bow from their conference mates.  I think it’s more likely LSU drops them in the grease eventually, but who knows

I know roller coaster blah blah but seriously thru scheduling their floor is about 5-6 wins no matter how hard this board hopes for 2-3. Then it’s up to a flake AUB, State, Miss group to determine what kind of year it is.

I was on the scat site under the same handle since ‘12 or so, lurking since ‘08 when Llano Estacado, offshoreag, and UTMike and I all shared a bullpen office.  I am not an aggy fan.

Ill go back to my hole in the hobbies forums but seriously, is there no concern of what *could* happen with 3-5 years of stacked classes due to, whatever means.

Username...not a fan.

Wondering if Whittington can be a Ramonce Taylor type player for us (without the off the field issues). Could play some in the backfield and out wide. Know earlier someone targeted Jake Smith in this role, but Whittington has been doing that for Cuero all season. Dude definitely needs to see the field next year (along with Smith). Need explosive plays in this offense.

guessing he is the next guy that runs the Wildcat for us for the next few years?

If more SEC teams had any semblance of a passing attack they'd be 6-6.

I don’t disagree. If UK QB could complete just 1 pass, they lose that game. If Ole Miss just kept passing, they would have had a chance.  Sort of like WV and OSU this year. A few plays completely changed the season.  I’m also not buying top 3 running defense, there just wasn’t any reason to try and run when big pass completions were garuanteed.

If we all agree that Jimbo is going to make our coaches, support staff and administration work harder, can we just move on.

Whittington may well be great, but there may not be another Ramonce Taylor.  His acceleration off the edge was unreal, and he should have had a career like Jeff Demps or Ted Ginn, Jr.

Not sure how Whittington isn’t a 5 star. Scary thing is he might be better on defense.

Somewhere a Rivals regional mod is still telling everyone that Keenan Allen could be a shutdown corner.

I've made this reference before and I know it's not an original thought.

I asked earlier this year about FWK and was told that he was legitimate, not like the other trainers, that he cared about the kids. I did not know then and still have no direct evidence about his shadiness, but he certainly seems to be missing numerous chances to clarify that he is above board. My gestalt take on him is that he is sliding further into the game. He is putting off vibes of being part of everything we were ludicrously accused of doing with Hookfin.

As mostly a casual observer in these threads, I can confirm that a lot of posters defended FWK.  Some to the point of taking offense over any perceived or overt accusations.

EJ on Floyd hard recruiting Bru:

Spoiler

Still don't have reason to believe that he's signed his NLI yet. Texas commit De'Gabriel Floyd met with McCoy for four hours last night and pitched him on joining him in Austin. Floyd has been a close friend to McCoy and is part of the reason Texas is at the point where it is. I think the decision has weighed heavily on McCoy. In a toss up like this, I would give USC the edge because of all the ties to the university. From talking to those around this recruitment, the Kliff Kingsbury hire was the real game changer. He's done a tremendous job of recruiting McCoy over the last month. I'm told McCoy's mother loves Texas, but his father is all in on USC. The Texas staff has invested so much time and resources in this recruitment and is still working hard behind the scenes.

IT Q&A answers:

Spoiler

Q: Running back-
Did that Cali Juco RB sign with Oklahoma? If yes, can Glass/Kelly contribute as freshmen? I want someone who can handle 8-12 carries a game, but is that back available at the HS level? If not, are we all in on grad transfers? Or do we still need a HS back just to add numbers?

EN: He did sign per 247.

Glass can play immediately for sure. I don't know about Kelly.

They'll take a HS kid and GT if they find one they like.

/

Q: QB transfer news?

Apparently football brainiacs has Thompson and Rising looking to go. Maybe Shane too

Seems ridiculous

EN: I don't really talk about transfers unless I know for sure a guy is going to leave.

I check on these guys often -- I check on everyone really -- and hadn't heard of anything imminent.

/

Q: I noticed on Wednesday that LHN (when breaking down positions by class) seemed to be under the impression that Demarco Boyd will be on the roster next year. Any update on him?

EN: I don't expect him to be on the roster next year.

/

poster said that Murphy (the OL from UCLA) has a sister who goes to UT with his son
