He said in his interview today that he'd had a usc shirt since he was 4.  He was never coming to Texas.  Either he or his handlers were pulling this bullshit.

I don't see how anyone can blame Bru in any of this.

He's done exactly what he said he was going to do when he said he was going to do it.

I do believe at one point he thought about us after his OV, but since then it's really just been EJ pushing Bru.

All the sites have been talking about him recently because they get bombarded hourly by readers asking for updates.

I wish these kids would STOP PLAYING THESE GAMES with schools. Gives everyone a very poor impression of them, at least it does me. Just like when Kyler M gave Texas the impression he was interested in them. They’re just being jerks IMO. I may be the only one who feels that way.

The one thing that was shitty was that he didn't tell our coaches. Unlike Helton and Coach Shh Wannabe, we were preparing for a major bowl game. And Bru said he was talking to our coaches daily. Why have them waste their time serenading you when you already signed and they have much better things to be doing?

Idgaf about him lying to 9.95ers about already signing because they were probably harassing him daily and if he says he signed already they were just going to dig further until they could leak it.

All that said the good news is that Herman and Co still came out with a much better game plan than Kirby and we kicked ass, because they're (as an aggregate) good at coaching football. Not that the extra 7ish hours really would have mattered too much, but it was the only weird part of an otherwise fine recruitment.

what you're saying doesn't make any sense. nor does this statement that someone posted upthread:

you, me and every other person that follows recruiting is responsible for the drama, not the players. the fact that we are intrigued by where they will choose to play football in college creates the drama. because we care, a market for that drama has been created. the product itself is the drama and you're the consumer. you're talking about recruits self-promoting and manufacturing drama on a day when millions of dollars is changing hands through promotion, advertisement, and production/distribution of content that you, me and millions of others have decided we want to see.

bru mccoy is doing exactly what he said he was going to do a year ago. if you're intrigued by that, then you created the drama, not him.

No, see if Bru didn't want drama he would do like many recruits who don't want drama do.  Commit early, commit by twitter, heck there are recruits that commit at these allstar games that have already made it clear where they are going but just want to be on tv.  Bru has known where he is going for a while but has intentionally strung it out to today for his moment.  Thats fine but hes not some stuggling innocent. Is it blown up? Yes but it starts with him.

Wow, what a bunch of poor sports.  Yes, it would've been nice if Bru committed to UT but that was not in the cards.  It was pretty evident from the video @TrojanPrincess posted that he was all USC the whole time. That's not a surprise since most of the Mater Dei HS stars go to USC (e.g., think Leinhart, Matt Barkley, JT Daniels and others).  Hard to beat the hometown school in a place like SoCal, but at least Mehringer (despite his issues) made it interesting.  I think we're more than good at WR especially with Colin Johnson returning.

They're 17 or 18 year old kids who have the chance to get publicity and are hounded daily by $9.95 writers. There's a reason why only a handful of them stay off social media sites, or that the numerous sites are clueless about. They're kids in the national spotlight. Cut em a little slack.

E.J. Holland: Takeaways from watching UT signees in All-American Bowl

— Four-star Texas wide receiver signee Jordan Whittington caught a couple of passes in his team’s loss at the All-American Bowl. Whittington didn’t have a ton of opportunities to make plays, but he did have a great catch by the sideline for a first down, where he lost the defender and ran a smooth route. Whittington flashed all week long with his explosiveness and versatility. He looked more like a natural pass catcher and could see early playing time in Austin.

— Four-star Texas linebacker De’Gabriel Floyd signee made a handful of tackles during the game. Floyd came downhill in a hurry and plugged gaps well. He also made a bone crushing hit in the first half that drew some attention. While his team lost in blowout fashion, it was easy to see why he is so highly regarded. He has the speed and tenacity to blossom in the Big 12.

— Four-star Texas safety signee Tyler Owens was one of the most impressive prospects on the hoof all week. Owens is still raw from a technique standpoint, but he did make a couple of plays in coverage and displayed his length and crazy speed for his size. Owens really worked on being more physical as a senior, and it showed as he made a couple of physical tackles in the contest.

They don’t want to be hounded by chodes like EJ.

It’s just EJ and others spinning shit. Cut out anything that is EJ’s opinions in any reports, and just read the straight facts.

Bru was going USC, Cain was going Penn State. EJ pushes bullshit narratives - the facts were straightforward.

How anyone pays any of those soulless, money grubbing, ambulance chasing mother fuckers any money is beyond me. You are better off giving your money to a multi level marketing scam or a TV preacher than signing up for one of those pay sites. Unless they are Corky from Life Goes On level retarded every single one of them knew where Cain and Bru were going. They knew and still peddled bullshit to get people to read their crap.

Why is anyone even butt hurt in this thread.  Some of these comments are hilarious.  Bru McCoy has made it clear for a long time where he's been going.  We were his back up plan incase a fucking meteor hit USC.  He wasn't coming here whether Helton was retained or fired.  He wasn't coming here if USC won 1 game the last 5 years.  Like someone else said, imagine Sam picking any other school besides Texas.  He's repeatedly stated USC has been his dream school his entire life.  All of his best friends go there.  He visited Texas 2 times... that's it.  EJ needs to put out content.  With our entire class wrapped up early, he's been spinning bullshit for clicks.

Joe fan will believe what they want to believe & if that's not enough the degenerate $9.95 cons will help with the dream.

Hinckley Jr had better odds with Jodie Foster & the drama had nothing to do with McCoy or his camp.

The  $9.95 world should be relied upon for video, lists and updates on OV schedules, commitments etc.. embarrassing that they're able to foster the type of insanity that this recruitment became.

The guys out of Jersey that clean out the gamblers last penny for the "Lock of the Year" @ least have some game.. the fat fucks & latte loving peddlers in recruiting are cheap hacks.  See EJ's exit post on McCoy someone posted earlier.. a fluffer in low budget gay porn deserves more professional respect & in his case likely offers better personal benefits.

As far as skill positions, we might need a RB or 2. Other than that, I’d be cool with 2020 being 90% O & D Lineman and some LBs

Same. Load up on O and D line. I haven't checked, but I believe some people said 2020 is loaded with both. I know for certain o-line is, but not sure about D.

No.  Actually it doesn't.   Was there Drama regarding Roschon Johnson? No.  Was there drama regarding Jake Smith? No.  Was there drama regarding Floyd? No.  Plenty of players manage to get recruited without causing BS drama.

Bru talked in interviews about seeing himself at Texas and being torn and talking to the coaches daily.

Then he commits and says he was never going to Texas?

Sorry this isn't sour grapes, but to act like the recruit has no role in the drama regarding their recruitment is hilarious and polyanna as hell.

I read and post on Surly. Unless he came to Surly to see what we idoits do before setting his media plan, most of us non-995-donors had no appreciable influence on him.

Correct. He wasn’t coming.

I don't recall Sam acting all torn and being secretive about his commitment. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Sam did what honest non-diva football players who get offered by their dream school should do.

Yes. Every man is responsible for his own behavior. What Bru did wasn’t any mortal sin, but it is what it is. Drama of his construction.

Certainly there are partners with him in his attention seeking, but I don’t give him attention, nor do a lot of the guys here. I post here and more about Sam and Herman than about anybody else. And I do it because they affect Texas’s on-field results.

I like where you're going with this.  If we kill the dealers, we can all dry the fuck out and live normal, productive lives. Lives that don't revolve around seventeen years old boys and our sandy vaginas.

My friend, Scott Schrader recorded this on Wednesday.

Bru committed to USC on his official visit, but he did love Texas.  Contrary to what that closing guy was saying, the players and recruits love Clay Helton....while some of your Texas players were not too complimentary about yours, just didn’t want to say that till confirmed by several sources.

Hook ‘Em!

It’s better to be feared than loved.

It’s closetojumping, and I’ve been more dead on about your program over the last 12 months than you could hope to be. Enjoy your fantasies with loveable Coach Helton being carried off the field next year after pulling out a 6th win to become bowl eligible. I’ll stick with the premise that he’s clueless, he’s not an exciting guy for recruits to get behind, and you’ll be waxing Pollyanna to us about the new guy, same as the old guy by this time next year.

Exactly. The winning coaches who are “loved” are the ones whose players run the team (Mack, Carrol, etc.) They’re the ones who eventually lose control and implode. If everyone loves your coach, he’s doing it wrong. When you look at the greatest coaches of all time, they’re usually dicks.
